It was fairly late at night, I was super hungry and I happened to be in the area. I know that I do really like the standard fish sandwich they have. I do not really get fast food that often and places change menus super fast so looking at what I want takes forever. The very sweet person manning the speaker was super patient and guided me through ordering. I was seeing the fish sandwich but no combo option yet the combo option listed by the hamburgers said they could add fries and a drink to create a combo. That also works on the fish sandwich. I did just that. No matter what fries you get (depending on the seasonal options), you can't really go wrong though even just the regular fries are delicious. I'm a fast food guy at heart so I decided to try Burgerville as I was passing through. I wasn't that hungry so I got the Cowboy slider in a combo. The slider was a little smaller than I expected but was decent. It appeared a little flat and the cheese inside wasn't melted all the way. Still a little rigid. Still, it hit the spot. We ordered 4 burgers, 2 regular & 2 specialty ones. It seems like when they are about to close they make up a bunch of patties ahead of time and then slap the burgers together as you order. Every burger was completely cold like it had come out of the refrigerator, look at the photos the cheese is not even melted. The regular burgers that normally have a small bun on them had huge buns... cold too. I spent $40 on garbage. The sausage on one of the burgers was cold, uncooked, and felt like eating old chewing gum. We also specifically said NO onions, it's on the receipt... it looks like they gave us double or triple onions!! Disgusting!! read more

We have always enjoyed Burgerville's original cheeseburger basket with fries and a drink. However, our last few visits were disappointing. One visit all the food was cold. The next two visits were no better. The hamburger buns literally fell apart and the French fries were very dry and lacked the yummy French fry flavor. I really liked this place. I got a cheeseburger combo, and I thought the burger was good for the price. I've gotten worse food for higher prices elsewhere. The fries were fresh. Food got delivered to my table in a decent amount of time. The staff was friendly. If I had to make one big complaint it's that the bathrooms are outside the main restaurant; you have to go out the doors and then hang a left into another door. Burgers were good. They offer a GF bun that is good size. You can order your burger unassembled and the GF bun will come in separate packaging reducing chance of cross contamination. Fries are advertised on their menu as GF, but are cooked in a common fryer. Unfortunately the ice cream used in their shakes is not gluten-free. Servers were friendly and patient with our inquiries regarding food allergy considerations. They did say their salads are GF. Okay, so I'm only giving this two stars not because of the experience I had, but because somebody higher up needs to be alerted about the absolutely unacceptable behavior exhibited by the manager, David. I was in at 6:00pm on 7/22/23 and the poor kids on shift were being absolutely berated by this man in front of everyone, even though they were doing everything just right. If anything, his bad attitude is probably what was stressing them out and possibly causing mistakes (my order was fine though, so no complaints here.) Zach and the red-headed girl (didn't catch her name) on shift were amazing, all smiles and were doing their best despite everything. They deserve better pay! There was also a little girl who came up to the counter and asked David for a cup for water. Without even looking at her, he practically slammed the cup down in front of her without making eye contact. How rude! Completely unacceptable behavior from this manager, both as a leader and as the face of the establishment for customers. He does not seem equipped to be a manager. Burgerville, as a whole, is a mere shadow of its former glory; but it's still one of my go-to fast food type restaurants. My wife was bringing me lunch today, so I glanced at the seasonal menu -- and saw a Walla Walla Onion Burger on the menu, so decided to give it a try. It comes with a 1/4-lb. patty, aged cheddar cheese, Walla Walla onion rings, and BBQ sauce. As much as I love their basic burgers with the special sauce, this was a nice treat -- very tasty! I ordered regular French fries with my order, and I thought they were very good, overall; with a decent crispiness to the exterior. Definitely better than the days when they served soggy, limp fries; but not as good as what they served 5-7 years ago. I've been coming here since they opened in the mid-70s, and I don't expect that will change any time soon. read more

I really do love Burgerville, but the Canby location has had the poorest service in the last 6 months. I have always defended their prices because their food and service were worth it... Tonight, I went through the drive thru in Canby. Ordered 2 small cocoa peppermint shakes and large rosemary fries. It came to over $15. I got the shakes and waited for the fries. I put a straw in one shake and tasted very pepperminty, but I couldn't taste the chocolate. I got the fries handed to me. I asked the person handing them to me if the shake I tasted actually had cocoa in it. She said that their chocolate is lighter colored. I accepted her answer and drove away. While driving home, I tasted the other shake, which actually had chocolate flavor. I turned around and went up to the door. Doors locked, but an employee was sweeping. I knocked. She ignored me the first time. I asked if she could please get the manager. He came to the door, and we talked through the glass. He said it DID have chocolate in it. I disagreed, His response was, "What do you want me to do about it?" I asked for a replacement shake. He said he couldn't let me in. I said I'd come to the drive up window. They brought me a new chocolate shake (not cocoa peppermint). When I got home with it all, we took a bite of the fries (that I waited to be made). They were SO salty that we had to throw them away. I'm not sure what happened to this Burgerville. I've lived here for 18 years and have gone there many times. I definitely won't be going back. read more

The girl taking our order seemed like it was her first day, which falls on the managers to properly train their staff. Drive thru Service: "Ya gonna tip?" Is how I was greeted at the window. I was confused with the question and proceeded to say "yeah sure a dollar" and with that I was given a disgusted face. I am not above tipping, but how it came about was not even close to subpar customer service. Drive thru Food: fried food (fries, fish) was too fried and tasted burnt. Burger was average. We were here last Sunday for lunch, I ordered a Halibut sandwich ($8.49), what arrived at the table was astonishing. I would compare it to a McDonalds fish sandwich, like the dollar menu one, except that would be offensive to McDonalds. The "Halibut", if that really is what it is, was about the size of silver dollar and so thin it could cut paper. Thankfully they also burnt it, so at least there was some texture. Heaps of white slather drowned the lettuce and bun so as to just squirt out everywhere. I'm not one to complain, or send food back, but this was a crime against humanity. My daughter wanted a Burgerville burger so we went through the drive through ordered a double cheese burger combo and after a long wait and an excuse of technical difficulties was given a bag with no double cheeseburger. Told the cashier it was the wrong order as french fries were not there and... well she ran off to get the french fries, gave us a little cold bag and excuses. Finally got her to hear the burger order was wrong as we did not order two little cheeseburgers but a double she checked the order angrily and stated we had ordered a double cheeseburger, I held up the two singles and asked if that was the way they now served a double. She still persisted in arguing. We left. burgerville is such a disappointment to what it used to be. Expensive, cold, and sub par quality food. Their fries were overly salty and the burger was dryer then cardboard and to add to it it's anthor 5.50 just to add fries and a drink nearly half of what the burger costs. Then to top it off they ask for a tip when you pay with a card.... and the card reader is so confusing that if you don't pay attention your probably going to tip them. I went to Canby for shopping. I knew there was a burgerville there and I was looking forward to repeating my previous experiences of their great food. I was sorely disappointed. I paid a dollar for cheese on my fish sandwich, and it wasn't there. Not only that, the fish was dried out and the lettuce was limp. Pros of this restaurant - - Cons of this restuarant Manager was an asshole who blamed us for their shitty cashier getting our order wrong. They gave us my food cold and 20 minutes late and even then it was the wrong burger and they forgot my fries. The cashier messed up multiple times and I wouldn't be surprised if they took a shit in my food.
