My man has never been before so yesterday we rode our motorcycles over for the first time since it transitioned to Third Coast Hot Dogs... and let me just say: yikes. Let's get into it. The spot itself is popular with bikers and has a So Cal vibe to it. If you want to sit inside, the gangster rap is too loud for a conversation so snag a bench outside or prepare to stand if you want to talk. (Also, it's super awkward to sit with a bunch of wasps while N--- this N----that blares over the loud speaker while children run around and play.) We ordered two hot dogs. $10 each. We sat down at an open table that was dirty but after looking around, they all are. I guess clean tables aren't a priority here. It took 35 minutes for two lukewarm hot dogs on a day they weren't busy. My guess is because they don't actually have a kitchen and cook everything on hot dog rollers and hot plates at the bar. I've spent less time waiting for my $1.50 hot dog from Costco with 35 people in line and had it taste better than my $10 hot dog from third coast. They brought everyone else their food but called our number to come grab it from the counter which we could barely hear over the gangster rap. At that point, my man was pissed because now it's starting to feel like they just don't want our business. But still, even after all that time, he grabs our $20 hot dogs from the counter with high expectations, we take our first bite, and are immediately disappointed. My pickled onions were still frozen, the hot dog was lukewarm and bland... I took one bite, grabbed my things, and left our food on the table. If you're craving a really good hot dog with awesome service and a cool vibe... go somewhere else. I was really looking forward to this place too. Bummer.

Great service. Really nice people in a cool bohemian setting off Hwy 99. Love the artwork all…read moreover. The host explained the menu to us and we got a couple of chili dawgs (Everyone's Fav), hold the sour cream, with an order of fries. Yes, they accept credit cards. They hand you a buzzer that tells you to collect your order and it worked for us from the nearby parking lot. I'm sure the sour cream would have made it even more over the top good but both of us are sadly lactose intolerant and not big believers in dairy subs. However, the seasoned fries were hot and tasty and perfect to dip in the excellent chili. I just lost my soul cat and these dawgs were a perfectly indulgent, guilty treat on a days like these where I need to wash the blues away.

Lots of fresh made menu items, some with a twist from time honored recipes. I really want to support them, but one problem . . . I've gone two times in the last four days around 11:15am, and they were closed. As far as I know, they should be open at 11am. On Saturday, I saw a young lady come of of the door, so I walked over, and she said the owner wasn't there yet, and invited be to come back in 30 minutes. i finished my other arrands and came back 40 minutes later, and they were still not open. I parked in the lot behind the tiny restaurant and waited another 10 minutes before finally leaving. Three days later, I came by at about 11:15am again, and they still hadn't opened. I understand the challenges of a small business, but someone needs to understand the importance of opening on time! I'm not on a clock for work, but if I had been and clocked out to go for lunch, and they weren't open 20-25 minutes after they should be, I'm not sure I would ever go back. I will give them another chance, because I want to support them. I will stop by after 11:30, and hope they are open. UPDATE: I decided to give them another chance and I went by for the third time in six days. This time i waited until 11:40 because the last two times it was closer to the opening time of 11am. SHOCKER!! They were still not open, or even looking like they would be any time soon. The front door was locked, the chairs outside were still stacked and there was no sign that anyone was around. For me, that's strike three. You would think a small business would do all they could to be open on time. And if you have a valid reason for not being open, leave a small not at the door. I'm sure the food is good, but I won't waste my time driving the 4 miles to try again. Sorry ladies!

My kids brought an ice cream cup from across the street and the owner bluntly informed my four and five year-old that no outside food is welcome. He was clearly annoyed, even though it's a casual business on a boardwalk where this seems super common place. Been all up and down the coast on this road trip, never had an experience like this. --- In regards to your response you have 14 tables and one had people at it. It took less than half a napkin to wipe that spill, you did it in front of me and the ice cream was finished before he was out the door. A casual food business is not a house, and we certainly don't get worked up about 1 ounce spills in our home. Hell of a way to live. In the end it's your right to run your business how you want I'm sorry I didn't see the sign but there's no reason to act like that toward a 6yo child. God bless you and your dog house good sir
