We have been to this Oswego Grill about 4 or 5 times since moving to the area, and we have never been disappointed, so it's about time I wrote a review. This last Friday, we came in early evening with a reservation, and were seated in less than 5 minutes. I had the Top Sirloin and my wife had the Filet Mignon, and both were great. Very disappointed. Made reservations on line for my husband's 81 birthday. The reservation on line platform that Oswego Grille uses asked me if this was a special occasion. I said yes my husband's 81 birthday and asked what would I like special. I said a piece of cake with one candle. When we arrived, our waitress did not ask me if we were celebrating a special event, but I heard her ask another table and they sang happy birthday, etc. Why does the online reservation platform ask that question if my response is not relayed to staff at the restaurant? I mentioned this to the hostess on the way out and she said did you mention this to your server? I said I should not have to since I was asked this question when I filled out the on line reservation. Also, the last time we were there at happy hour, it was extended to our table. This waitress said it only applied to the bar area, not the sit down dinner restaurant. Who is correct? We will not be going back to this restaurant chain. Improve staff communication and on line reservation requests. read more

We celebrated our anniversary 37th at 545pm in the evening and they were very busy, but seated us in 5-10 minutes. Parking lot was full but free. The staff were beyond polite and friendly. The good service was impressive. The food was excellent. My wife had a great salmon sandwich and salad. I had a wonderful paella of mussels, shrimp, and a sausage with saffron rice. Haven't had such good food since traveling in Spain. Grandson had a grilled cheese sandwich and he ate the whole thing? Last night I wanted and craved steak!!! Walked in was busy but not too bad. I stood there for a bit while the employees chatted my pet peeve being I used to run restaurants but they were sweet and we decided to go to the bar area where we didnt need to wait too long so that was awesome. We ordered steamed clams they were delicious, couple of drinks flavored teas, ribeye steak..side note if you pay that much for a steak it should come with vegetables right? Or no? But only came with potatoes i order it rare it was cook perfect, although it tasted delicious my gripe was the grissel and fat was more then the meat itself so after spending that much money on steak I feel I should have not been hungry. I also ordered the special salmon on the special menu I totally forgot what it was called it wasnt the best. The server wasnt very warm. It was mid but the price wasnt worth it. Tried to do five this place m multiple chances but every time I go with my kids for just dessert (mostly in the last couple of hours before they close) there's this one waiter, who is always crabby and I hear him talking smack in Spanish to the back of the house staff (I'm fluent). Just very poor service and I just did something for not made to work on the service industry and he's one of them. he's been there for a few years for sure. Second time back for steaks. They can cook the steak as you requested, bit it still came out a bit chewy. I asked the manager if the steaks were choice or prime. He stated they were choice grade...that explains why they have the texture they have. My take...go to a real steakhouse for steak, where the meat is prime and the focus is on the steak, not a side dish. We ordered a hamburger, medium, and the prime rib sandwich, medium. The hamburger had no flavor and did not taste fresh. It was also well done. Only ate 1/2 of it. The prime rib was a 1/2" slab of prime rib, well done. Not tender either. Came with the smallest side salad l've ever seen. Our finished plates sat in front of us for 20 minutes before removing and I not asked if l'd like a refill. I'll never be back. I was warned about this location. read more

I treat myself to a filet once a month and absolutely love Oswego Grill's filet mignon with mashed potatoes and a side of asparagus. I recently started going in for brunch twice a month. When they first started serving brunch, the food was spectacular. I've only tried the Oswego Grill breakfast and avocado toast. the potatoes and herb toast were to die for however, the last three visits my toast has arrived dry and ice cold one time the bread wasn't toasted a bit disappointing as that's the main reason I visit. today I met friends for brunch and both myself and my friend received cold, dry toast, and learned from the waitress that they no longer offer the garlic herb butter because too many people were complaining about it. it would've been nice to know that ahead of time that's the main reason I go in for brunch, but other than that the potatoes are amazing. The bacon and avocado toast are also delicious. Service is good. One waiter in particular I can't recall his name but he is fantastic!! He's prompt no matter how busy they are, order is always perfect and he remembers everyone's name. He seems to work dinner service. Brunch service in the dining room has been so so. Fantastic Service & Delicious Food! My friend and I decided to have lunch at Oswego Grill, and it was a great experience! Since we weren't very hungry, we chose to split the salmon tacos. The kitchen went above and beyond by plating our meal separately and even adding an extra taco--such a thoughtful touch! Our waitress was amazing--she patiently answered all our questions in detail and made sure we were well taken care of without being overbearing. The service truly elevated our meal. Was looking forward to my first visit to an Oswego Grill and am disappointed at how underwhelming the food was. First, the service was excellent. Very welcoming and attentive. The food was just average. I had a Cobb salad that was served as a chopped salad. Rather than the traditional lining up of ingredients, it was tossed. Just a big mixture of the salad's ingredients. There was too much dressing and made the greens in the salad wilted. The Westwood pasta was pre al dente. It needed at least another minute to be cooked. The description is blackened chicken that is really Cajun chicken. More heat than was needed for this dish. It was overpowering. The person that ordered a burger was happy with their dish. Maybe this is more of a sandwich and burger place? Overall, I was disappointed. read more

This a pretty solid neighborhood grill. They have an extensive menu and seasonal specials. The quality is high on almost everything. I was in a cocktail mood to start the night and my manhattan was solid. The other guesses had beer and they have a nice selection. The place has a dark wood clubby look to it. We started with crab cakes from their seasonal menu. They were wonderfully light and not loaded with bread crumbs. Even my wife approved and she doesn't like shellfish. I had the salmon stuffed with a blend of crab, shrimp and blue cheese. It was delicious. My wife had an impressive steak salad. My mom announced before coming that she was getting the fish tacos. I tried one and they are indeed good. Special mention to the obvious presence of management on the floor helping out. This the key to keeping the quality of our experience high. I've been wanting to try Oswego grill for a minute now so I decided to take my girlfriend for a big anniversary. I even mentioned the occasion in the notes of the reservation. Unfortunately our server didn't seem very interested in taking care of a younger couple. Or maybe he was just swamped. I'm a server myself so I can understand if it was the latter. I would have appreciated communication about that or something. It just took ages to get checked on throughout the meal and when the food arrived most of it was room temperature or cold. I didn't care enough to make a fuss being in the industry myself. The food was surprisingly amazing despite the temperature issue. I guess there isn't really a "hands in hands out" team mentality at this restaurant because we were sitting for ages and many servers walked past us countless times without checking once. Finally our server drops the dessert menu and no mention of happy anniversary or something sweet to celebrate. Maybe they don't do that here. All to say the food and ambiance are wonderful, the service just seems panicked and possibly understaffed which I can empathize with. I'm sure our server is a great employee, but it was just a disappointing visit for such a big personal occasion. I would go back to try again, but not to celebrate. read more

OMG...props all around!!! This place is a diamond in the rough. My wife and me went for Easter/Betty's birthday. It was a late afternoon meal. I had the mahi mahi tacos. My wife had the ahi tuna salad and my mother in law had the French dip. Everything was delicious. I don't think I've ever had fish tacos that good!!! First time visiting and VERY impressed! Traveling from out of state and this was located in close proximity to our hotel. On the way to dinner my husbands blood sugar got very low. Stopped by for lunch while traveling through the area. We aren't locals but Tralee the area frequently. Decided on this restaurant based on the reviews and menu options. First impression... it was much nicer than I had envisioned. The doors were held open for us on a busy rainy Saturday. We were seated immediately without reservations. I wish I had gotten our server name, he was phenomenal. Never missed a beat. Our drinks were filled without ever having to ask. My husband and I both had an iced tea, very good tea. It was brewed well with no bitter after taste. Our daughter's strawberry lemonade was delicious. We ordered the artichoke spinach cheese dip and it was really good. My husband ordered a burger that was on special that month and he enjoyed it. It was a bbq Hawaiian burger with Cole slaw. The burger was great, coleslaw not so great. My daughter ordered a cheeseburger with fries, all great... except the ranch. We love a good house made ranch this this one misses the mark. I had the pacific cod fish tacos. The fish was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The sauce and the salsa on the side were both very good. My preference would be half the cabbage and a bit more fish. Strangest and poorest dining experience we've had in recent memory. We chose this location because we've enjoyed other Oswego Grill locations in the past, where the food is typically good and the service quick. Unfortunately, this was the opposite. Service was exceptionally slow despite the restaurant being mostly empty when we arrived. My husband's prime rib dip was a gristly slab of meat on an oversized, dry bun--chewy and completely inedible. At other locations, the prime rib is sliced thin, but here it seemed carelessly prepared. The Oswego Burger was bland, lacking seasoning or flavor, and the side salad arrived with brown, wilted lettuce that tasted as though it had been sitting in the back of a fridge. Even the blue cheese dressing tasted off. After a long wait, we ended up splitting the burger simply out of desperation to have something to eat. When we brought this to the manager's attention, he appeared unbothered, if not outright annoyed, showing no concern for our experience or interest in retaining customers. We've had great meals at other Oswego Grill locations, but this one was a major disappointment. Don't waste your time here--go to one of the others instead. read more

This place has really gone downhill the last few years. I met up with family during happy hour (around 5pm) and asked the young lady at the front if there was seating open in the bar. She promptly responded in a rude manner and told me to go look in the bar myself and see. Luckily there was one table open which I took in the bar. The waitress noticed I sat down, came by, slammed down some menus without saying a word and walked away. After taking some time to review the menu, she finally made her way back about 20 minutes later to take our order. The food quality is absolute garbage now. The California roll came out on a plate and you can tell it was made probably 3 days before and put in the fridge/freezer. Extremely dry with a weird mushy paste inside. The sliders had so much grease they were swimming. Don't even bother to ask for extra ketchup, she made it clear that was a huge hassle. Overall, save your time and money and go somewhere else. This place tries to be "upscale" but all you're met with is snoddy staff and subpar food. read more

I've been visiting this location for nearly 10 years and this was by far the best time I've had there. As soon as we walked in our server Trevor walked by and asked if we needed to find our party. Once seated he was attentive without being overbearing, which is not easy to do! The food and drinks were good, and when my steak was cooked incorrectly the manager Mike handled it right away. We ordered a burger, spicy Mac and cheese, fried chicken, jambalaya, and the filet mignon. Drinks were pina colada, strawberry daiquiri, hot chocolate and wine. There was even a coat hook by our table! I'm so happy to have celebrated my son's 19th birthday here. As long as this service keeps up I'll be a patron for years to come. Worth the visit. read more

I was in the area for a month, eating out every night. Oswego Grill in Wilsonville was our favorite restaurant to go to for dinner. My sister lives in the area, and it is also one of her, and her daughter's favorite restaurants, and she is someone that loves to cook, loves finding new places to dine,..... It is definitely worth a try! Very nice, calming ambience, good food, decent service, clean restrooms, comfortable booths and tables, and fairly easy to get a table. Our favorite go-to meal while there was the Grilled Salmon Power Bowl. For $17.99, it had a nice size piece of grilled salmon, roasted sweet potatoes, fresh avocado, candied walnuts, blueberries, mango, quinoa, kale, and a lemon vinaigrette. The kale was not bitter, as it can be sometimes. The dressing was delicious. It felt like a healthy meal for a reasonable price! We paid almost that amount in the mornings at Starbucks for hardly anything. The apple, pear, & arugula salad was tasty, but wish they would use real lettuce, and not the scrawny/stemmy arugula. I also tried their special Hawaiian Wagyu burger with pineapple, bacon,.... It was delicious and filling. It's recommended wine pairing of New Leaf Pinot Noir became the wine I asked for most nights there. Very smooth. I was getting a 6 oz. glass, but one night wasn't asked which size, and found the 9 oz. glass comes with a mini-carafe, which seemed much nicer, if you aren't driving. Another night I had Chicken Marsala -- also delicious! Mashed potatoes, mushrooms, very tasty sauce. We went once, then came back a couple weeks later and the waiter remembered us. You seem to have to ask for bread, which is very tasty, with a garlic butter on top. Although, the 2nd time back we didn't have to ask, as our waiter remembered. We also went to the Oswego Grill in Beaverton, but that location is busier, along the popular Cedar Hills Road, and there is less of a wait at this location, and better service. We have been to the restaurant in Lake Oswego in years past, and it is also very nice. Steaks and some seafood dishes will be pricier, but there is a variety of dishes for every person's taste and price preference. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more
