This park has everything! It is a pretty big size that contains baseball fields, soccer fields, skate park, and One basketball court. The first thing you notice about Burgess Park is how big the fields are. They are plenty of eating areas and benches. Also in the park is a Rec center, Library, Police station, Gym, and Pool. Good size park with plenty to do!

    Burgess Park!!!

Burgess Park is a beautiful, massive park in Menlo Park with an impressive set of all different kinds of athletic facilities - it has everything!!! It's a huge recreation area for baseball, basketball, soccer, frisbee, swimming, skateboarding, tennis - you name it! I sought to take as many pictures as I could to capture everything - the park is absolutely enormous. All the fields, parks, courts, pools, etc. are so well maintained and well run. So many people were hanging out all over the park on the basketball court, the skateboard park, the pool, or eating at tables with friends, family, or by themselves, just having a good time. The flowers and plant life in general around the park were also colorful and gorgeous. I would definitely recommend spending quality time in the park - it is a special place, and you will always be able to find activities there that you will enjoy and keep you engaged and happy!!!

This park has everything (but not enough shade!)--basketball court, baseball & soccer fields, skate park, playground, etc. There's even a duck pond & the Menlo Park library is right there. A great place to do activities or just relax.

Burgess Park is great! I walk through it several times a day, and I am always amazed at all the activity. There is: - a Little League field, - a separate softball field, - a soccer field, - other grass area, - a kids playground, - picnic tables, - barbecues, - a gymnastics facility, - three pools, - tennis courts, - a brand new gym (for basketball, badminton, exercise classes, & more), - a newly renovated recreation center with conference and exercise rooms, and - a new building on the way with conference rooms, aerobic studios and a state of the art gymnastics facility. The library is less than a two minute walk from the park, and the train station is only another two minutes away. This is a great place!

Excellent family park in Menlo Park. The community center, library, city hall and police station are in this area. Contact city park division to reserve picnic table and groups for events. I believe you can reserve rooms inside the community center.

Wonderful park! Great place to take kid and play with a nice mix of shade and sun. You can also run over to the library nearby as well!

I love that the park is so close to my home. But why is there never anyone walking their dogs (or even walking without their dogs) at night?

EXPERIENCE I recently visited Wunderlich Park to visit…read moretheir museum and carriage house. I didn't go for an extensive hike but want to return someday to do so! STARS (stand out qualities) -Beautiful and well maintained park -Well preserved historical site STAIRS (areas of growth) -More signage clarifying which of two entrances to enter at TIPS -Parking is limited so good to carpool or come during weekday if you can -Try signing up for tour. I learned interesting history of Chinese laborers!

Small Wunder A…read more940-acre park nestled in the eastern Redwoods and madrone-laden slopes of King Mountain. The name of the park is derived from contractor Martin Wunderlich, who donated the land to San Mateo County. The Good: * Free to visit * Parking lot * Picnic tables available * Restroom in parking lot * Seventeen miles of trails, including several loops. * If you like horses, then this is the place for you! There's a really cool old historic stable and lots of equine action to be found. * Camping available (https://www.smcgov.org/parks/make-reservation) The Meh: * Currently, no recreational horse activities like trail rides and lessons are available. * Crazy elevation gains, as trail elevations run from ±350' to over 4,300'. Be sure to check the trail guides to make sure you don't get in over your head. * No dogs allowed The Ugly: * The restroom has no running water, just hand sanitizer. * I'll admit, I'm not a fan of horses, and having to share trails with horses isn't my idea of a good time. Conclusion: Not the biggest park in this area that's full of fantastic OSPs, but it's certainly worth a visit--especially if you're a hippophile.
