I've been here a few times , there breakfasts never disappoint , I was shocked how dead it was on a Sunday morning, the last time I was there there was live music during breakfast, this past time . Nothing . Sat at the bar , service was great . My breakfast was good , the omelet was plenty big and tasty, hash browns were just ok, kinda plain. Need to cook them more well done . The toast was the star of the show . Nice and thick and tasted fresh . Had a few bloody Mary's and my GF had one Mimosa, both were good , but way overpriced for breakfast cocktails . 2 breakfasts and a couple drinks and it's $80 with the tip . Everytime I've ordered takeout it's always been awful! An I get a bad day but this is every time. My omelette wasn't even cooked all the way and had a very bland taste. Almost 30$ to get a soup omelette an just barely cooked home fries with no flavor. Over priced for not good food. read more

Only took five years to come back lol not living in the area doesn't help but here we are. Met up with my sister and niece after stopping at the Pathfinder Plant Sale at the horticulture shop. Completely forgot I had pancakes last time I was here but wasn't in the mood for them anyways. Steak bomb omelette stood out and that's what I got with marble rye toast. Good choice as I devoured the home fries and gave our waiter a thumbs up for the omelette. Had to grab myself some dessert and couldn't decide on red velvet or carrot so got both and took the carrot home for later. Both were good in their own way. Nothing to complain about. Came here Easter Sunday with a reservation for 4 1/2 for 10am. We were brought to our table right away and greeted pretty immediately. I wish I'd gotten our servers name, as she was very nice and attentive. If she somehow finds this, my munchkin was wearing the pink bunny ears, drinking strawberry milk! Having never been here before, I wasn't sure what to expect. That being said, the experience overall was one that would warrant me to come back, but not for breakfast...to check out their dinner time menu. The meal itself that I ordered the Mad Moose, wasn't anything special. I wish it had some fresh veggies on it to break the meal, maybe a slice of tomato and some spinach leaves in between the egg and corn bread. That would be yummy! Great find; highly recommend Burgundy Brook for breakfast, lunch, dinner or whatever you are in the mood for. We moved to the area from out of state about 2 years ago and return on a regular basis. This is our go to "thin crust" pizza place, though you can order crust any way you like it, just ask. Excellent customer service; Food is always deliciously prepared with fresh ingredients by the owner/chef/baker and staff, who also provide a welcoming, warm and friendly environment to dine in any time. They are also considerate of individual food allergies, when advised and are conscientious and willing to work around when possible. Can't say enough good things about Burgundy Brook! Very disappointed. Been to Burgundy Brook many times for breakfast and occasionally for lunch. This time my dad and I tried it for dinner. My dad ordered a small cheese pizza and I on the recommendation of our waiter the fish and chips. Pizza was okay. The fish was soggy undercooked and cold. The "chips" over salted and inedible. Even beyond that, although the staff was friendly, there are some basic food handling practices which seemed to be overlooked- our drink glasses were handled by lip/top of the glass, our food was carried against the body of the waiter and the ketchup bottle carried in the armpit of our waiter. Apparently the use of serving trays has not been taught. Lastly our waiter was more interested in flirting, grab assing one of the female wait staff/hostess, than paying attention to his tables. Once what was a respectable establishment has really slipped. Again very disappointed. read more

I tried to love this place. It's local and it's inviting but once your in the disappointment begins. They have some good stuff like homemade breads and pastries but it's everything in between that needs help. Way overpriced for the area and the amount you get. $3.50 for 3 bacon is a bit much. You wooed me back with your delicious specials, I saw one advertised that I could not resist, and wasn't disappointed. Where I still can't bring myself to increase the rating is to do with atmosphere, and this is really just a personal preference, others may feel differently. In the old location, it felt like a family place, good food and casual, country themed atmosphere. The current spot feels like a bar, even at breakfast time we were sat near the bar where multiple patrons were having a very good (and very loud) time. At 9:00am. It's just not my thing. But the food is so very good, especially the Benedict's, the bacon and the sausage gravy with biscuits. My hubby and I both had specials off the weekend menu. I got the Huevos Rancheros which was served over their homemade cornbread. The cornbread was delicious and honestly the only thing I liked about the meal. My hashbrowns were super soggy, not crispy at all and weren't even lukewarm. Super disappointing. Hubby ordered the skillet special and was given the option of homefries or hashbrowns and picked homefries. They gave him hashbrowns anyway. It wasn't a huge deal but they forgot his side of pancakes. It wasn't the fault of the waitress, but the food runner forgot them. Again not a big deal, but I had to ask about them as a few minutes had gone by with no pancakes, as I know sometimes sides come out after the main meal. Honestly the food is overpriced in my opinion to not even come out hot. The only thing that came out hot was the pancakes. We've been out the Burgundy Brook a handful of times, overall it's a good experience. The interior is spacious with a good amount of tables and decor is country cute. They have homemade bread and pastries which is a nice touch. The menu is pretty big with breakfast and lunch options, though I've never been for lunch. They usually have 5 or 6 specials as well. I usually stick with an egg and homefries situation or an eggs Benedict and I haven't had a bad meal. There is usually a wait on the weekends but it moves quickly or the most part. The service is usually decent but when it's busy you kind of get what you get. The business is located next to a horse farm so when it's nice out you can walk over and see the horses which is always fun for everyone. read more

The brick oven pizza is phenomenal! We are super picky pizza eaters and have only found 1 or 2 places in this part of the state where we will get pizza....this is hands down our favorite place! The crust is hand tossed and perfect thickness...nice and thin so you are not stuffed with bread after eating. If you sit in the dining room (not the bar side) you can see the pizza genius at work in the kitchen...he tends to often deliver the pizza's himself to the tables, very nice touch in my opinion. We tend to split a pizza and a salad, and end up with a few slices left to take home. Don't let the comments about parking discourage you, there is plenty of street and lot parking all around the restaurant. The only place that comes close to the pizza here is in Springfield....talk about hard to park! Do yourself a favor and go on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday night for date/pizza....oh the burgers and chicken parmigiana are amazing too....you have got to give this gem a try!! read more

We had several good experiences here over the past 2 years--the interior is pretty spacious and cute with lots of country decor. Food is great, lots of homemade touches and wonderful breakfast. Big menu with lots of options. Then one Sunday we went for breakfast around 9 and had to sit in the porch section, which was very drafty and cold. The silverware was a little dirty looking and the food was just average. If we hadn't had such great experiences here before, it wouldn't have been as disappointing, but I was really looking forward to the meal we had the last few times. Oh--the host (owner maybe) suggested that we make reservations next time. FINALLY!! A good breakfast place in Western Mass! I'm originally from Wilbraham and every time my boyfriend and I go to my parents' house to visit, I crave a delicious breakfast. The only options remotely close to Wilbraham are Friendly's, Dunkin Donuts or IHOP... not exactly a fresh breakfast. My parents have apparently known about this place for a while and didn't take us until a couple weeks ago. Everything was so fresh and delicious! I got the egg special which was a hawaiian scramble with potato casserole and fresh made lemon bread. This wasn't light and healthy food, but it was delicious. My scramble was fine but the star of the show was definitely the bread, which is obviously the specialty of this store. I really liked the seat yourself atmosphere and the casual setting. It looked like an old fashioned country store and had the same feel. All of the baked goods also looked amazing. I'll be back, probably every time I visit Western Mass. read more

This is a great breakfast spot. It is a little out of the way for me, but their food is better than most places in the Amherst and Northampton area.... Actually, I like that it's out of the way - I rather spend a Sunday brunch surrounded by a few old Palmer locals than at an overcrowded, overpriced five-college area joint. The menu consists of the usual diner/ cafe breakfast and lunch fare - omelets, tuna salad sandwiches, etc. But unlike at average diners, everything at Burgundy Brook is very fresh tasting, and definitely not too greasy. All their bread is baked on-site. Their cornbread is among the best I've had. The food is very affordable and the local teens who staff the place are friendly and prompt. I don't want to generalize about their prepared foods, but the cinnamon bread and brownie I tried were not very good at all. However, those tiny drawbacks will not prevent me from coming back to this place whenever I have the time on a lazy Sunday. read more

Two Stars Is Kind, I'm in a good mood, but read the review. I started out with donuts early in the am so I thought I'd have breakfast for lunch, today was my first visit to Burgundy Brook ... it was interesting. To say the least the restaurant is charming, I will give it that. It has a New England mid-century charm, although they shouldn't put up to many more nick-naks for fear of over-kill on the cheese factor (that's not the food either). I noticed they had a nice looking selection of baked goods to take-out and some good looking pies too. I tried a Special of the day: lemon/blueberry pancakes w/ coffee & sausage. I got 2 cakes and they were flavorful but lacking in blueberries (isn't it blueberry season??) but they were light and not cake-like so I knew the batter hadn't been sitting long. I asked for no sausage and to substitute potato for it (I don't eat sausage) and was told "not-a-problem". Needless to say the sausage was on the plate and I didn't get potato. All smiles ! ! hehe ...The coffee that came complementary with the meal was never served to me either, although I guess I should have asked for it. Stupid me, will I ever become an alpha male? Their was another special LISTED:, a "Veggi. Eggs Benedict" served on a Griddled English Muffin w/Home Fries and Toast. I thought the toast & the English Muffin was a lot of bread but I figured I'd do some dunkin' in the poached eggs. (Yes, I Ordered This Too, I was hungry!). The meal came out with hash browns (much different than home fries) and no toast. all smiles ! ! hehe At the end of the meal I asked the server if they were the normal potatoes served and was told, "No ...We Ran Out of the normal ones". I asked about the toast too and was told "Oh That .. it was a misprint". Now you may be thinking what's the big deal on the potatoes right ?? Well, Hash Browns are frozen grated potatoes, griddled. Home Fries are fresh diced potatoes griddled and often with onion n' pepper bit's in them. btw: I DID NOT enjoy the hash browns. In contrast the Benedict was great.To some the potato thing wouldn't mean a hoot. I figured if the server didn't notice the sausage mistake on the pancakes, nor bring out the coffee, something like substituting one type of potato for another wouldn't mean a thing! The aforementioned meant something to me because I would have ordered something else. It also meant something to me that I had a slab of pork on my plate when I don't eat pork! Can you feel my blood pressure rising?? Final comment then I will end this! The place was CRAWLING WITH FLIES EVERYWHERE. I had to get a menu to swat at them to keep them off my food & table I think I inhaled my food to keep the flies off... What a miserable way to pay for food! The manager (I presumed) asked me, "is this your first time here?" I replied, Why yes .... Umm .... do you always have flies, flying about like this? She said with a smile, "well there is a horse farm behind us so yes we do, We Try to do the best we can but ....they do, get in". I may (????) go back but I think I will wait until after the first deep freeze of the year like in the dead of Winter! You'd think the food/service would have annoyed me and that I would have brought that up to the manager. No, wondering what it was like in the kitchen because the kitchen windows/doors are in the back of the restaurant Where The Horses ARE preoccupied my mind far to much to be bothered about substitutions and/or service. Wow, this place has bad service. It was a pretty busy Sunday, and so there was a 20 minute wait. No big deal - we had a party of six. When we were seated though, it took another 10 minutes before we got menus, another 10 minutes before we were asked to order, and following that, it was another hour before our food came out. During this time, not a single person came to check on us or apologize, and then when the food came out, a number of the dishes were wrong. The food was very good, which earned it a second star, but I would never go back to this place. An hour and a half after you sit down without a single word before food comes out? Yet another update! The owner needed to sell the business, due to health reasons, but she was very careful about turning over the establishment to people who would carry on in the same spirit. Judging by the lines on weekends, they're carrying on very nicely indeed! The bread and pastries are still made on-site, the interior has undergone a very modest update (to matching chairs, for example), but the food is still homey & fresh, and the service is very friendly.
