Amazing experience! I truly felt like a family member. I didn't want a big box dental experience. I was tired of driving to Cedar Park to see my denistry office of 20 years. From Pam in the front office to both Dr. Burk's and Melanie, I could have never imagined I would have such a wonderful experience. I had so many X-rays of my teeth, which I never experienced at my previous office. Every X-ray was explained to me by Dr. Sara Burk, and recommendations provided. She even cleaned my teeth, which I have never had done by a dentist yet, only by a hygienist. A total game changer for me. My visit there made my day. read more

Just want to update my review from several years ago to say that I am still completely satisfied with Dr. Burk and his team as my family's dentistry team. In the past several years, Dr. Burk has helped me, my husband and our two sons with fillings, tooth extractions, veneers, and anything else that has come up, and has done so cheerfully and with minimal pain and maximum efficiency and honesty. I've said before that Dr. Burk is a dentist that embraces the conservative route when it comes to his advice on dental procedures--the less is more approach. You always feel that the choice is ultimately yours and never feel that you are pushed to get extraneous procedures, as I have experienced elsewhere. I want to give an example of what a typical appointment is like with Dr. Burk: Today, as he helped my 9 year old through his first tooth extraction, he came out to the waiting room to talk us through it first. My son was understandably nervous, but Dr. Burk just gently walked us through it, then asked several times throughout the procedure what questions we had. His pain management technique is honestly the best ever -- a few quick little shots of local anesthetic, and you're numb. My son hardly felt anything. Five minutes into the procedure, he plunked the extracted tooth down on the tray, and my son didn't even realize what had happened. I know from previous experience that Dr. Burk's staff will text us in the coming days to check in and make sure everything is going well. Upon checking out, our hygienist told me that because Dr. Burk had ordered an additional x-ray beyond the one our orthodonist had initially provided, they weren't going to charge us for it. This is just another example of how honest this dentist is. Sadly, I don't know how common that is today, but I know for sure that as long as he is in practice, he's going to be our dentist. read more

This is just a warning for new patients, I called to make an appt for an exam and asked if I could email them the xrays I had done 5 months ago. The person I spoke with, Pamela, said that they are not able to accept xrays from another office as entering them "corrupts their system". Every other dentist I've called were willing to accept them so I called her back to confirm I understood and she again confirmed that xrays from another office would corrupt their system and I'd have to pay to have them done at their office. That sounded suspect to me so I called a couple more dentists and asked in a dentist's social media forum if this was a red flag and everyone said yes, they send and receive xrays all day long with no issues. To quote one: "I don't know of any digital software picky enough as to corrupt itself just for importing a few jpgs. That sounds ridiculous to me." It is common practice for a dentist to accept xrays that have been taken within a reasonable amount of time. I made an appt with another dentist and saved myself several hundred dollars for unnecessary xrays. According to the American Dental Association (ADA), healthy patients need a full set of X-rays every 2 years at the most. I hope this helps someone else save money they don't need to pay. read more

Great Dentist and staff. Been a patient for 8 years without any issues. Dr. Burk never recommends treatment unless necessary. I recently brought my daughter in for a second opinion after she was dealt a treatment plan for more than 10 cavities from a different dentistry practice, and he showed us how thick and healthy her enamel is by x-ray and assured us she has zero cavities and beautiful teeth. He and his staff have also been very gracious to me recently when I had to reschedule an appointment with little notice. Then was 20 minutes late to the rescheduled appointment and they still did the cleaning and exam. Dr. Burk is the most honest and upfront dentist that I've ever met. He seems to know his stuff and he will shoot you straight. His entire office has a great vibe. Not pretentious or salesy, but caring and warm. You can tell that the entire staff just loves him. He's the furthest thing from a salesman. We switched from Dr. Gentry and couldn't be happier. This is why we switched: My previous dentist (Dr. G) recommended that I have a dental implant placed where I had a molar pulled all the way in the bottom back of my mouth over 20 years ago. I expressed that I didn't see a reason to spend thousands of dollars for a missing tooth that no one sees and wasn't bothering me (the tooth had cracked years earlier when my wisdom teeth were removed, then had been crowned, got infected and then finally pulled-all over 20 years ago). She pointed out little fracture lines in some of the other molars that she said were due to the additional stress from the redistributed pressure of my bite. She said not having the implant was making the fractures and would ultimately crack another tooth. She spoke to me almost as if she were explaining to a child and that rubbed me the wrong way, but I bit my tongue because I didn't feel it was intentional. The next time I went in, the implant was again brought up (this implant would have cost~5k after my Delta dental insurance covered their portion). My husband was billed a hundred plus when he went in for his check up and cleaning. Our dental insurance didn't cover his cleaning (mine was 100% covered) because they billed for a special intensive type of cleaning that is only covered once in the insured's lifetime and my husband had that type of cleaning already a few years earlier at our previous dentist. He said the cleaning didn't seem any different from a normal cleaning. She sold him some tooth gel for ~$45 & also said he had a cavity. We each did 2 or 3 appointments with her to give her a fair shake. I was hoping that maybe I had just caught her on a bad day. Nope, that's her. It was not even so much what she said, but the tone she used when explaining anything. Between that and not believing that I should spend 5k on a dental implant for a space that had been empty for 20 years, I thought it was time to at least get a second opinion, but probably outright switch providers. So we went to Dr. Burk. Interesting to note: Dr. Burk found no cavity in my husband's mouth and he told me that he can find fracture lines on most all adult's teeth. He said that wouldn't reccomend a dental implant unless I wanted one, since the missing tooth is not causing me any trouble. He's obviously not out to make a quick buck by performing unnecessary work. The man is trustworthy and that is incredibly important when it comes to dentistry. His hygienist is thorough and incredibly nice. His office manager is friendly and takes care of our insurance submissions. They will all entertain you with their banter while your there. Was with for years along with many family and recommended to many friends, then one day we received a letter in mail signed by Dr. Burk saying we were no longer his patients. Only thing we can think of is that we requested an explanation about a charge made on a bill. Office manager was unusually rude about the question and rated down more than would because of that, but we never received a call from the Dr. to resolve the problem, just the letter in the mail. (Always edit reviews if attempt to resolve is made).Very strange. Rest of family & friends decided to leave and find another dentist due to the way we were "kicked out" over asking a question. Very strange. Definitely would no longer recommend and sad that they have no other plan for conflict resolution but that. Poor way to run a business. Just wanted others to go in with eyes open so they aren't also sucker punched if they too question a bill. read more

I know, that sounds like a bunch of crap, but it is not. The office is tucked back, so kinda hard to find but it is worth the treasure hunt. My hygienist told me that the staff never leaves, people come in asking if there are openings and the answer is always no. In my mind that speaks quite highly of the provider and the environment. During your cleaning, don't be surprised if Dr. Burke comes in and starts chatting with you. You might get serenaded or have part of Cosmo read to you while your chompers get buffed. I have been a patient of Dr. Burk's since 2002. He is phenomenal! If you are a movie buff and in need of a good dentist, then he is really the dentist for you. I enjoy chatting about movies during my appointment and often you can watch a snippet of a good movie while you are there. Most of his staff has been there since I started going and I enjoy catching up with all of them. I had a suspicious tooth that most dentists would immediately want to do something with. For a few years Dr. Burk would just check it and ask me if it was bothering me. Since it wasn't, he'd say he wasn't worried about it. After a few years it did finally crack and I got it crowned but it was nice that the treatment plan wasn't forced on me or done until it made sense to do it. After two years of having him as my dentist I can say with certainty that his quality of care is only matched by the overwhelming positivity and friendliness of he and his staff. I will be done taking my four-year-old to Dr. Burke beginning of next year and I believe my wife will be soon to follow. Finding a good dentist is the same struggle as finding an honest mechanic, but I can confidently say that Dr. Burk is the only man who can get this far into my mouth without buying me dinner. Now two cleanings and 13 cavity fillings later, the straight forwardness and compassion of this practice has built a solid bridge of trust in me (and my family). The Doctor and his staff have been nothing short of incredibly accommodating. No matter how fussy and nervous I was or how many schedule changes I had to throw at them, they handled me with total grace, class, and flexibility. From the moment the front desk staff greet you and the entire way through you are treated with total respect. Beyond that the Doctor and his supporting staff are incredibly skilled. I was never hurt, nicked, or handled roughly and I experienced only a little discomfort (that's with needing plenty of work to be done). Additionally, I am reduced to ridiculous 4-year-old levels of fear and panic when it comes to needles, however Dr Burk is a master of distraction. He always put me at ease. It's worth noting that my nearly 90 year old grandmother was also shown the same gentleness; the doctor clearly explained every option to her and opted for the less invasive and lease cost prohibitive option. I initially had a good experience with Dr. Burk - and they offer an option for uninsured patients. You basically purchase two cleanings upfront for a small discount. The second cleaning should ideally happen 6 months later. When my second appointment was up, COVID had started and was going strong. I told the office, especially because I live with someone who is immunocompromised, that I wanted to delay my second cleaning. They agreed, and were quite nice. They said to come in whenever I feel comfortable. COVID continued, and the person I live with continued of course to be immunocompromised. They continued to reach out to me every 6 months for a year and a half, and they continued to say I could come in whenever I felt comfortable. They they send me an email two years later saying my appointment is about to expire. And I get it - they had been patient and understanding with me for 2 years. I email them and ask to set the second cleaning. They then tell me they're not going to offer the second cleaning. So rather than get two cleanings for $400+, I'm getting just one. I told them they had told me repeatedly I could come in when I feel comfortable, given I live with someone who is immunocompromised. They told me they could refund me $7. The normal cost of a cleaning I believe is about $250 (not the $400+ I paid). So in the end, I feel like they took me for nearly a couple hundred bucks (after telling me repeatedly they understood the situation and I could come in when the risk felt more manageable). read more

I used to hate going to the dentist, even if its only once a year I'd rather hear nails being scratched on a chalkboard all day long. However, having Dr. Burk as your dentist is always fun and more than tolerable. Even if you only go once a year, he more than remembers you. He always seems to enjoy catching up with his patients. Even his hygenists are always incredibly friendly and his staff are helpful and personable. They really make you feel like you are more than just dollar signs. And with an excellent selection of movies to choose from to watch while you're getting your teeth cleaned or whatever you're there for, it kind of makes you not want to leave. I can't believe I was so scared to go to the dentist! After waiting far to long to see a dentist about a broken tooth, I was hurting in a bad way. Dr. Burk was able to schedule me in the very next morning. Everyone was so nice and caring....it was a big relief. I ended up needing a wisdom tooth extraction. When I was originally looking for a local dentist I looked through many of them but none had as many great reviews as Dr. Burk. I sure am glad I went with these guys because they are all awesome. From the moment you walk in the door they are nothing but friendly faces and jokes. I originally went for a cleaning and from that moment I knew that he would be my dentist from that point forward. But Dr. Burk and his staff didn't stop there. Late last night I chipped one of my front teeth and didn't know what I was going to do. While Dr. Burke may be friendly enough, his office does not honor their signed, written price agreements for work done. I had them PRE-VERIFY with my insurance the cost of the procedure and they had me sign an Out-of-pocket cost agreement. Then, AFTER, I had the procedure done I received a bill for an additional amount. I pointed out that we had a signed agreement and that they had verified with my insurance the amount that was covered. They said I had to pay or they would fine me a surcharge. BTW, charging interest without an agreed upon rate of interest is also ILLEGAL. Perhaps they cover up for their lack of scruples with Dr. Burke's being so friendly. I guess they think they can screw people over and they won't mind because the dentist is such a perky chap. I won't be returning. Be aware when you get a price agreement! read more

I was a patient here for 20 years as an out of network patient without any issues. Dr. Burk and staff were friendly and I paid what they charged without question. I even had my spouse and eventually my children start going there. It was not until he became an in network provider less than two years ago for Cigna that everything changed and I was not treated fairly. I know enough about insurance to know that an in network doctor has a contract agreement on what they charge patients for services. First time I received a bill after services saying we owed more with a note of why we needed to give them more money, I called Cigna and they said no they are not allowed to bill you that way, I called Burks office and they adjusted the bill. Second time they over charged me, by charging me for a service they did not do. I waited over 2 months for a refund and finally called pressing the issue. They became snotty and rude over refunding me less than $50. I told them it was their mistake and they needed to adjust their error, and that I had been waiting already a long time for a refund. They refused and two weeks later they sent me the refund with a message that they no longer wanted to see my family at their practice. They sent copies of all our dental records and gave a list of area providers. Unbelievable, that they would treat people that way. If you go here, do not question anything they charge you, just pay what they ask for or their niceness will turn on you too. We now go to a different practice and have been pleased with the service and treatment we receive. read more

I was terrified of finding a new dentist since we moved from Houston, and I decided to look online to see what I could find. Of course the reviews online for Dr. Burk were good, but your still always leary of other peoples opinions. So I decided to go ahead and schedule my appointment...his receptionist was truly so friendly, and got me in as soon as possible..no real waiting. Then came the actual appt....so I was warmly greeted, and Dr. Burks hygienist was just wonderful. You'd thought she'd known me for years...listened to my concerns made me feel comfortable, and really took her time with my x-rays and cleaning. Once my exam and cleaning were complete, Dr. Burk came in sat down answered all of my questions, and did a thorough review of my x-rays with me that I could understand. He also offered me options I could afford for future dental work that really meant a lot to me. I didn't feel he was trying to sell the farm to me as the old saying goes. I was just thrilled with my experience with Dr. Burk...he and his staff treat you like family not just a patient. I wish all Dental experiences could be that great...I assure you though at Dr. Burks office you will get the best care, the best personality, and the most for your money!!!! read more
