Today I came for my scheduled cleaning appointment, but the location does not exist anymore. I was shocked. No one informed me that the office had moved or closed. I had to call another location, and they told me they could see my appointment in the system, but the location I went to is no longer there. This is extremely irresponsible. Patients should be notified if an office changes location if they have appointments scheduled!!! Since they moved, I also don't know what's going to happen with my Invisalign. Did they move my retainers to a different location? Which location? I don't know. And nobody called me about it. Unfortunately, this is not the first problem I've had with them. Another time they scheduled me for an appointment regarding my Invisalign. When I arrived, they told me my new Invisalign trays had not even arrived yet. That means I came there for no reason just to talk to the nurse about something we had already discussed weeks before. There was also another situation when I came for an appointment and the receptionist simply told me the doctor could not see me that day. Why wasn't I called or sent a message that my appointment was canceled? It feels like they don't respect patients' time at all. This clinic seriously needs to improve their communication and organization. Very frustrating experience.

I went to them at least 6 times, getting extensive work done, and I was never informed that they do not take HMO plans from my insurance. I had to contact THEM for them to tell me this, after I saw a letter from my insurance that I owed over 3k for work I had already paid the "copay" for. I had received payment reminders through text messages from an unfamiliar number multiple times, but with no business attached to it (I googled the number to be sure), I had thought it was some kind of scam. It wasn't until I received the same message from Swish through my email on Jan 20th that I realized what it was. I had been seeing them for about a year by this point. Part Two: I worked out a payment plan with Swish and was told that I could text them monthly with the script "This is [my name]. I'd like to make a payment of [$$$] on my account, with the card on file ending in [####]." So I've been doing this every month around the 4th since January. It is now May. Since I was getting help from my parents to pay this bill, I did not have access to the account information to confirm the charges went through. At the beginning of this month (May 7th), I texted them asking for an updated bill, and got no response. So I went onto their website and saw that the phone # to text has changed. So I texted the new # with the same request about an updated bill. No response. I also emailed them. Still no response. Then today, I got a letter in the mail from a debt collector where it looks as though the only charge that went through was the first one (which I did over during the same phone call where I was told I could text their number with the script above). I was receiving payment reminders from Swish through my emails as recently as March, with the debt going down with each payment. But if my debt with them was already sold, then what was I paying them for?

I've been a patient for almost two years, and my teeth honestly feel like they're at their absolute best. As an avid coffee drinker, having white teeth matters to me--and their Zoom whitening service is AMAZING. The results are noticeable and long-lasting, and the process was comfortable and professional from start to finish. Their sweet RDA, Sara, was incredibly helpful, patient, and thorough!! What really sets this office apart is how attentive and proactive they are. During my last cleaning with Jordan (who is an extraordinary hygienist, btw,) I mentioned that I had recently learned I have sleep apnea and that a C-PAP machine wasn't a good fit for me. Dr. Ardita Ormeni took the time to listen and then created a custom oral appliance to help me sleep better--life-changing care that goes well beyond routine dentistry. The entire staff is friendly, personable, and genuinely caring. The office is beautiful, spotless, and equipped with modern, up-to-date technology, which makes every visit comfortable and reassuring. If you're looking for exceptional dental care, a warm and welcoming team, and truly personalized treatment, I highly recommend Park Family Dental. Was told they were now out of network for the insurances I have. Later in the afternoon they sent a txt (I rec'd it about 630p) that it was going to be $154 for a routine cleaning, etc., which was an exorbitant amt we'd never paid before, especially since these were the same 2 insurances we'd always used. I called Tues a.m. to cancel because I couldn't afford them. This time the girl who answered said they WERE in network. I told her I could not afford $154 since my husband passed away. Then she proceeded to tell me I would be charged a $50 cancellation fee because I didn't give 24 hr cancellation notice. It was completely irrelevant to her that it hadn't even been 24 hr since she gave me the appt & there was NO WAY to give 24 hr notice when there wasn't 24 hr in the 1st place. When I asked to talk with the manager, I was told I could only send her a message because she didn't work in the office. She's "remote." I told the girl I was NOT going to pay a $50 cancellation fee when there was no way in the 1st place to cancel an appt that was made & was already within their 24 hr. time. This is a complete ripoff. So IF someone decides to use this office, don't make an appt the next day, or get sick, or have to go to the hospital, or die or have someone in your family die, because they will try to get your last pound of flesh, not to mention overcharge you or mess up your insurance billing information. I'm extremely disappointed in the way things turned out after being a patient for several years. So now I'm looking for a replacement.

Erica, my hygienist, educated me on my gum health, and noticed signs of wear on my teeth due to clenching; which I imagine I do when I'm sleeping. Erica took photos of each tooth, measured my gums, and validated that my oral hygiene practices at home are on par. During my examination, we saw signs of decay, and there was enough time in the schedule for me to start the process of placing a crown on my tooth. From the moment Dr. James numbed me to the moment my temporary crown was placed, I was treated with the utmost care. The team remembered my son, who visited not too long ago, and were as joyful and relatable as can be. They even offered me a cozy blanket during my procedure! I mean, who does that? Pecan Park Family Dentistry does! All in all, though it was my first time at their practice, I was made to feel like family. Like I was being taken care of by my girlfriends, and I am beyond grateful to have crossed paths with them!

After more than 10 years with this practice, I'm incredibly disappointed to be writing this…read more I'm autistic, and like many neurodivergent people, I struggle with scheduling and making it to appointments. I want to be clear: I am already deeply aware of this, and I feel embarrassed and awful when it happens. Nothing feels worse than standing at the garage door with my keys in hand, frozen, shaking, overwhelmed, and filled with guilt. This isn't carelessness or laziness, it's something I actively work to manage. I also understand that missed appointments affect a business, and I am willing to accept financial penalties when appropriate. I appreciate that Pecan Park Dental has waived some missed appointment fees for me in the past. However, my most recent experience felt shaming and dismissive of my disability, and I left in tears. The morning of a scheduled appointment, I was called and told my insurance would not cover the visit because I had hit my maximum. I was told I would need to pay $540 out of pocket for a routine cleaning. I could not afford that and chose to reschedule for a future date when my insurance would cover it. At that time, I was told I would still be charged a $100 late cancellation fee, even though this cost was only communicated to me the morning of the appointment. When I returned months later for the rescheduled visit, I tried to explain that this situation resulted from an insurance and communication issue. Instead of working with me, I was repeatedly pressured in the waiting room to pay the $100 fee. I explained multiple times that I did not have the money that day. I was asked for credit card information over and over, in front of my daughter and other patients. It was humiliating. I ended up crying in the office while still being asked for payment. When I later tried to explain the situation, I was sent a chart of my missed appointments. It felt less like an attempt to understand and more like an effort to reinforce guilt. That approach isn't helpful, it adds to the shame and makes it even harder to access care. Experiences like this are exactly why many neurodivergent people avoid healthcare altogether. It becomes easier to avoid appointments than to face anxiety, shame, and financial penalties. I don't believe this is about bad intent, but it reflects a system that prioritizes policies and revenue over patient-centered care and basic compassion. After more than a decade as a loyal patient, and bringing multiple family members to this practice, I expected more understanding and professionalism. Because of this experience, I will be moving my care, along with my family's care, to a different provider. I hope this practice reflects on how it communicates with and supports patients, especially those with anxiety, autism, or other neurodivergent needs. No patient should be made to feel this way while seeking care

The next day during a follow up call from their office I told her about the broken tooth. The next week during my scheduled checkup, I reminded the doctor about the injured tooth and she made no attempt to examine it. Again, during my next scheduled visit 2 1/2 weeks later the tooth still wasn't examined. I felt this was very unprofessional and I had started losing trust and confidence in the doctor. I have been with a broken tooth for about a month now and can feel the gum around the tooth starting to swell. I also requested an itemized bill to show the billing codes and was made aware that the doctor billed me incorrectly twice. I was billed using the code 7210, which requires surgery opposed to the code 7140, which is a simple extraction. I called to dispute the charges but was told very rudely that the codes would not be changed and the charges were correct. At this point I lost all trust and confidence. I can only surmise this was done to me because I paid out of pocket and didn't use insurance. I have since obtained my dental records and have started to seek a doctor whom I feel is ethical and not just a salesperson wearing doctor scrubs. Dr. Augustine seemed totally ignorant of ADA regulations. I advised him to educate himself, fired him, and left. I was especially disappointed with Charlotte, his scheduler (who has invariably behaved professionally and with a smile in the past); she turned into a very poor version of herself... impatient, rude, argumentative & disrespectful... when I asked to speak with The Boss. After reading other reviews, unfortunately post visit, my experience was almost identical. Having returned to Austin after a 16-year absence, I was looking for a new dentist. Both of my previous dentists had retired. Trails Dental was convenient, and since I only needed preventive maintenance and cleaning, I thought why not. DO NOT MAKE THIS MISTAKE. I had given my insurance # to them in advance of the appointment and again at checkin. They had ample time to confirm coverage. ALSO, a sign at the entrance to the office promoted a $79 x-rays and cleaning offer. Wonder how many people have been scammed by that false advertising. After having a panoramic x-ray, followed by bitewings, then the hygienist (I presume, as 4 different women floated in and out during my time in the chair) proceeded to perform a 2D photographic image by placing a small hand-held wand like instrument in my mouth. Next came torture. A second person entered and began to aggressively poke my gums with a sharp instrument until I could taste nothing but blood. Rarely do my gums bleed. Not only was I gagging from the metallic taste, but no one ever offered water for me to wash out the blood. Then entered the dentist, Dr. Jessica Cicone, to explain everything. Not only did she tell me that I needed 3 crowns but that I also needed a deep cleaning. Keeping in mind that when I left my wonderful dentist in New Orleans, my teeth and gums were fine with her only keeping a watch on an old filling in one tooth, which ironically wasn't among the teeth that Trails wanted to crown. Cicone departed and in walked the 4th different person, this one to explain the costs. According to her, after insurance, my portion of the bill would be about $3,600. AGAIN, all I came in for was preventive maintenance and cleaning....covered 100% by my insurance. Declining to have the deep cleaning that day as I did not have a credit card with me, I asked for a routine cleaning. They REFUSED. That's like taking your car in for an oil change and the repairman finds a dozen other things. Even if you decline extra repairs, they still change the oil!! Insult on top of injury, the billing person detailed my portion of the crowns after insurance. Another big red flag, as I knew my policy didn't cover crowns. In the end, I left and immediately called my dental insurance company to confirm that they did not cover crowns. Nor does my policy cover deep cleaning or the 2D imaging--for which I've now received a bill for $408. At this point, my teeth still need cleaning, yet I have to either wait another 6-months to be covered by my insurance or pay out of pocket to see another dentist for x-rays and maintenance.
