He looked at the job, gave me an hourly quote and decided to give the work to an employee that never painted cabinets before. To make up for the lack of experience; he micro managed the employee. since the job was based on an hourly rate; the lack of experience ended up costing more money. Once the job was almost done, he sent me an invoice and asked for a check immediately. when I questioned his hours on the invoice; he responded with insults and was very rude. He finally admitted that he charged me an extra two hours because he had to baby sit his employee who lacked experience in painting cabinets and that he also had to get extra supplies. I ended up paying him for an extra hour based on the supply run. He cashed the check and called me the next day with more insults and told me he felt like a robbed him.

My experience with Richard and crew was great at first, but of course that was when Richard was asking for payments when the job wasn't even 75% complete. When it came time to fix the issues that his crew caused to my home, he was nowhere to be found, he didn't even have the decency to come out and look at the issues. Richard even denied the problems that his team caused thru email and he didn't even call to discuss which is as unprofessional as it gets. The only time I saw Richard was when it was time to cut a check and that's it. His crew even bad mouthed him while doing the work. I'm also not the only customer that Richard's team has had issues with. Multiple neighbors have complained to me as well as the car wash in town who also was very unhappy with the work done by Goddard's. Do not hire him! He's full of it And the only reason why he gets one star is because in order for me to post this I have give it one. Such a shame for a very good paint job done to be ruined by stupid mistakes and complete utter unprofessionalism.

After 35+ years, we've noticed some of our wood sidings and windows sill were starting to have wood…read morerot due to weather wear and lack of maintenace (previous owners never re-painted for it's first 20 years). So we were looking for a company which both paint and do carpentry work to fix all the wood rot around the house and paint afterwards. Our contractor friend, Lenny Sims, recommended Rich Goddard. He gave us a reasonable price for fixing the wood around the house/deck and paint all of the exterior. We were expecting some patch work but his Guatemalan crew (he has multiple) was very professional and very hard working. They washed the house, scraped off the paint in bad areas to expose wood rot where we didn't even notice, actually replaced the wood in many places and not just use wood filling, and then beautifully painted the entire exterior including gutters, door, windows, etc. When they finished, everything was cleaned up nicely. It was beyond our expectations and worth the cost. Our contractor friend said they are not cheap but can't be cheap with good quality. Definitely recommend their work. Beautifully done.

We hired Crystal Painting to repaint the exterior of our 1929 Dutch Colonial. The home hadn't been…read morerepainted in 9 years and had significant peeling and exposed wood and therefore was also in need of some carpentry work. We hired Leo and his crew from Crystal based on reading other reviews on various sites, meeting him in person (many firms just look at your house online and provide a quote or do a quick stop and go without talking to you), and based on his willingness to give us a quote that included both the painting and carpentry work (most other painters were unwilling to quote the carpentry until they were on the job). The pricing quote was a bit higher than other quotes but based on the reviews we read and the quality of the conversations, we decided to take a chance on Leo and Crystal painting and weren't disappointed. Leo's crew showed up daily (in varying numbers depending on what needed to be done) over a two week period, did a good job of prepping the house, getting it primed, fixing the carpentry and applying two coats of paint. Some of the carpentry involved replacing rotted moldings along the roof line that likely had been on the house since it was built in 1929, amazingly he was able to find matching pieces to replace the damaged pieces. In addition, there were several color and other changes made along the way and Leo was great at accommodating those at no additional cost. Overall, we were very happy with Leo and Crystal painting and would hire them again. Several of our neighbors who saw their work, have since hired them as well.
