DO NOT hire Burke's Restoration! From the time the permit was issued, it took them over 16 months to repair a roof and remediate drywall and water damage sustained from a tree falling on the house. The work permit was issued in April of 2023, but they did not finish the job until August of 2024. I've had an entire house built from the ground up in half the time. Beware of using this company Fleet Response formally know as the locally owned and loved family owned business Burkes which were bought out buy a large corporation from out of state. My Home owners sent a estimator to see damage mold had done to my kitchen and I wanted an all in one company that had a stellar reputation and local not a big franchise. I got caught up during the unfortunate Burkes family buyout. I checked their website out before hand and read the about us, talking about the business and also had all the employees names proudly displayed with all the great service they provided over the decades. That does not exist anymore and all the pics & reviews are old from the original owners interaction with satisfied customers. Around the first of July I had mold remediation done and my entire kitchen was gutted, my beautiful tile floors were jackhammered out, my stove, my dishwasher everything is gone only the upper cabinets remain. They do not communicate they promise to call never follow up or anything. It took over 2 months for them to submit their bill to my homeowners insurance for the outrageous price of over $6000 after I complained. I was promised a make shift kitchen sink for the interim to wash dishes, that never materialized as the months went by. I have been using my wash room down strains with the washer and dryer sink to hand wash our dishes and have them dry out on both washer and dryer with a towel to rest on. I then start making some progress and I now move on to having my kitchen finally being put back together and then telling me we cant match your kitchen lower island with the rest of the perfectly fine oak upper cabinets that was saved and covered up out of the way seriously! Well were experts and contractors we know how to talk with your insurance company and get more money. Who talks like that. I then say I want workers who can speak English so I can communicate with them if that may be the case, again your dealing with contractors and do not have your interest at heart. What's the big deal If I ask that question, it's my home and I control the budget. I had this experience down south so I am dealing with contractors who outsource out to the lowest bidder. Guess what! I hurt their woke sensitive feelings and they abandoned my family totally dropped our family in need and desperation so we can have our kitchen back, totally incredible, say I need to communicate with my doctor on open heart surgery (Kitchen) and cant communicate with me just only smiles at me. What would you do on breach of contract and lied to for months? What happened to the customer is always right huh. I reported these hustlers to my home owners insurance company and be forewarned. They don't care one bit about you only the money, there rotten to the core. The original Burkes would have never ever treated there customers like this period. This is the difference between family run and corporate run Look elsewhere do not use these clowns as they are like Kryptonite to superman. read more

27 months after a ponderosa pine fell across my roof, the project is not done. My experience with Burke's has been horrible. I've had to take over with some of the subs and do some of the work myself. Their business model appears to be inflate the costs to get the maximum insurance money and get the cheapest subs to do the work and pocket the rest. I get no feeling that they want to meet my needs. I feel like I am only a means to an end; maximizing profits. There is a roof leak on the new roof. The new construction on my eaves does not match the rest of the house. I found unfixed damage from the tree fall, but they refused to come and check it out and say they will do no more on the roof. If I could give them a negative number, I would. I highly recommend you use another firm. read more

Disappointing to be lied to, cheated, gas lit and left with a house that was a complete rebuild after the initial build. Cheap materials were used, they altered our contract after we signed it , and tens of thousand dollars in repairs after the fact due to radon poisoning. The crawl space was unconditioned even though we had a signed and agreed to a condition crawl space . Be very worried of promises, get everything in writing and double check your contract even after you find them to ensure that they have not altered them like they did to ours . They also threw away items in our garage that were not approved of nor did they keep a record of it so we have no idea what they even disposed of after the fire . read more

Horrible experience from start to finish. They did not return phone calls, or answer questions without being defensive. They didn't call me back with information I was waiting for, information the secretary (Sherry) said she would get back to me about. They did not finish the job they started rather the secretary instead got butthurt about some miss-communication. She was extremely defensive and argumentative. They need to greatly Improve communication between myself, them, and the other people involved like the tennent, the floor guy and the plumber. We hired Burke's DKI in March after Covid 19 began to surface. We wanted reassurancance that our employees would be safe. Burke's DKI performed steramist, cleaned and disinfected our entire office. They were extremely professional, informative and most of all sympathetic to our concerns. They showed up on time and made us all feel much better about the safety of all our employees. DBA Kleins DKI Used them for water mitigation per the recommendation of adjustor. Big mistake. They are ok with the big fans and dehumidifiers but don't use them as your general contractor for the repair and restoration work. They are slow, hire low skilled sub-contractors, over-promise and under-deliver and when you get hit with your massive shock of a bill, threaten you with liens on your property to get your deductible out of you. Seriously don't recommend these guys for the headaches and nonsense these guys will bring you. But hey, if you like living for months with a torn up house, stepping barefoot on carpet tack strips, no working toilets, the malodorous wonder of massive sewer gas infiltration into your home, etc, can't go wrong with Klein's DKI. read more

I honestly don't know where to begin, with how incredible my experience with DKI, has been! It started out with water in the carpet of our downstairs hallway and mildew on the walls, of our utility room. My first call, was to a plumber, that peeked around briefly and told me that he didn't think it was a plumbing issue, but did refer me to DKI, for water damage mitigation. It was a Thursday morning, at 7:45am, when I made that first call to DKI. The woman that answered the phone, was friendly, professional and genuinely seemed concerned. She told me that she would have someone call me, to come out, as quickly as possible. I couldn't believe it, when I got a call from Kale Anderson, 10 minutes later, in which he stated that he was on his way; talk about a quick turnaround...most pizza deliveries take longer than that! Kale took a look around the entire downstairs. He wanted to get to work, right away on getting the moisture and mildew removed and was able to come back with a crew, the very same day. He also went above and beyond, by actually trying to figure out, what was causing the water damage. It was he, who discovered, that we likely had a leak, from our well-water pressure tank valve (indeed, a plumbing issue afterall!). He checked on the equipment and progress of the water damage, once each day (even on Saturday and Sunday), until we were able to get a plumber to actually fix, the root of the problem. Now, all of the damage is under control and we plan to use DKI for the rebuild, of the damage that was caused. I posted a less-than-stellar remark on Yelp regarding DKI and it's disappeared. Don't question their billing tactics where you will never get a response. My comments have nothing to do with Cindy. I think she's charming and does excellent work. However trying to get all my contents back from the home was a miserable experience. They chose how to handle my remaining treasures. Danny will never call you back if you question any billing and we'll get irritated when you ask him anything. I understand they have other people with fires and floods and what not but to me mine is very important. Months of waiting for a few remaining items. We had a flood at our home late on a Thursday night back in February 2020. Burke's DKI was prompt in their response to the flood showing up within the hour of our call. They were quick to assess the problem and got everything in line to start the repairs immediately the next day. They were very professional and sensitive to make sure we could still get to everything we needed to, and kept everything clean while in process of the repairs. It was very refreshing how smooth everything went and how quickly everything was back to normal. They worked very easily with our insurance company which made it so nice to not have that worry on top of everything. Their employees are clean cut, polite, and professional making it very comfortable to have them in our home. We would definitely recommend Burke's DKI. read more

Unfortunately they do not allow you to do a negative rating of a company on Yelp, or it would be in the -10 range. We had a fire in a condo and they were called to do the board up. The next day they were here to tell us what they could do to restore the building and we went with them. From that point on it has been a nightmare. There is not a timeline that they won't promise and then miss by a long time. The subcontractors that they have are less than satisfactory. The general sub took significantly longer and poorer quality of work than I have ever seen on a project. And, while I was in the Navy and the language on board ship was harsh, these guys even made me cringe. The electrical contractor, Lakeland Electric, is totally incompetent and we are still trying to get DKI to fix the electrical issues with our gutter heaters that the electric company had no reason to disable and destroy. Due to the project manager's incompetent planning we have had to wait for the painting company to complete the painting and it is one excuse after another. I truly think that since they submit their work to the insurance company and it is never really reviewed with a critical eye, there were probably significant overcharges and quality of work is not in their company policy. If they were the only company left to do this kind of work, I would find a way to do the job with friends and neighbors so I would know the job would be finished correctly. It has been over 19 months and they have still not finished what they have promised. Stay as far away from them as possible. read more

Personally I wouldn't even put them in a category of a Construction or Water Damage Restoration Company A few months back our home's roof was damaged from a fallen tree due to a severe wind storm in our area. That was bad enough, but dealing with this company was even worse, in fact I would have rather had another fallen tree. What baffles me is that this company was given as a referral from our insurance adjuster, which makes me wonder about the insurance company. In the beginning when I first contacted the DKI Dudes they would have return my call if they were in the middle of the Mojave Desert. Then after I signed their contract if was like they fell off the face of the earth. I heard nothing from them for three weeks, no calls, no emails, then I received a message from the sales dude I dealt with in the beginning saying that he is no longer with the company and that another person was filling his position. I'm glad I didn't get my hopes up, because the new dude was equally as bad at returning calls. When I finally got a response it was by text, at that time I asked to have a copy of the bid with details on exactly what is being repaired and/or replaced. He not only acted surprised but irritated at such a unusual request. I guess nobody ever asked for a copy of the bid or maybe he couldn't make a copy. I explained to the sales dude that my home is a investment and with all my investments I want to know what and how my investment is being handled (repair) which he couldn't understand and would not provide me with the bid. I guess maybe he was mixed up and forgot that I was the client and thought that the insurance adjuster was his client. After this go around I canceled the contract, and now after 5 weeks I'm back to square one, but on the positive side, if this is how this company handles people you can only guess what their work is going to be like. In the beginning, the first sales dude had to tell me 5 to 6 times that they are a "Preferred Vendor" of our insurance company, now I'm thinking, "yes they are a Preferred Vendor...of who not to do business with"! read more

I wouldn't even give one star.....I bought a home in April 2012 and was told that the house had had a fire in April 2011 and had to be completely rebuilt which was done by Klein's DKI and completed in October 2011. There was supposed to be a working air conditioner. When it got hot and we went to turn on the air conditioner it didn't work. I spoke to the listing agent who said that the previous owner stated that the insuance company paid to have the house redone including the air conditioner. He gave me the names of Klein's and also Erco Mechanical who was the sub on the project. I called Eric at Erco and he said he could not remember but would check his paperwork and call me back. He never did so I called again....for the next five months until I finally got a call from Brian from Klein's who seemed really nice. He said he remembered the house and project and would find out what happened and get back to me. Two months passed and he did not so I called and left a message. Another month went by and I called again and finally got to talk with Brian. He apologized for not calling me back because he "did not want to give me bad news...." He said that Erco told him that they hooked up the air conditioner, tested it and it ran fine "otherwise it would not have passed inspection...." I asked for a copy of the inspection report and he said he was going to email me a copy.....that was over a week ago and he still hasn't. BTW, we checked with the city of Post Falls and they did not do an inspection on the unit because there was no request to do an inspection...only on the furnace and duct work. Meanwhile, In July of 2012 I had another trusted company come out and try to fix the air conditioner...turns out it was not even wired in and there wasn't a drop of refrigerant in it. When asked what they likelihood was that someone would come in (AFTER Erco wired it in, tested and supposedly had it inspected and signed off) and take every drop of refrigerant, cut the wiring outside and inside the house...he agreed it was unlikely....I paid someone $300 to wire in the unit, fill it with antifreeze and then find out it wont' stay on because the compressor is shot....then Brian says that if it was the compressor it probably wasn't working well even before the fire happened....so if that's the case then how the hell did Erco get it to work????
