Was in need of a haircut while on business trip, like usual, I waited too long and was looking rough. After 30 min of searching online, just about every shop was booked up. Found Burlingame Barber shop accepted walk-ins and headed that way. Wasn't sure if I was walking into a Supercuts under a different name but was desperate for some seat time. Waited only 15min and a young man called me over and started in. I really appreciated the questions and conscious listening when asking what cut I wanted. WOW-WOW-WOW!! The level of detail and craftsmanship was not what I expected. A week and a half later and I am on yet another trip taking the time to review this shop. The hair cut was fine. No wait as a walk up on at Thursday morning. Staff seemed friendly enough. But cash only. I don't do cash. Ever. Don't have an atm card nothing. Nothing posted in the place about it being cash only. I had to go to the bank and come back which was awkward and time consuming. I haven't had a haircut since March, it's now October. So a haircut was long overdue. I hate going into new places to get a haircut, but Burlingame Barber Shop is really great and they take care of you. Incredibly welcoming and friendly. The inside of the shop is small, but well decorated with local memorabilia and very welcoming. The haircut prices are very fair and the barbers do a great job cutting hair. This place takes Walk-in customers and very efficient. You can go there and come out in 20-30 minutes for a men haircut. Staff follow social distancing guideline (mask) Price is a little bit high end for a men haircut, but this place is a place that you feel that stylists have skills and never mess up with your hair. Cool place, and ok haircuts, but I gave it two stars because when I called ahead to see if they took appointments, they said no. I was fine with that so I rode my bike over and waited behind two people for about 40 minutes. I was up next when another customer walked in and spoke with one of the barbers and sat down. A few minutes later this barber finished his cut and approached the waiting area but, to my surprise, took the other customer who had walked in after me and began cutting his hair! I brushed it off and waited for the next barber. This happened two more times on later visits, so I had it with this place. If you say there are no appointments, honor that. Treat all your customers the same. My money and tips are just as good as anyone else's so why am I being forced to wait another 20 minutes after waiting my turn? I wont be back. read more

Probably one of the worst haircuts I've ever had. Nice spot, good ambiance, but can't forgive a really poor cut for $25 plus tip. Phil was super nice, but didn't ask me before he hacked off my sideburns (now short, uneven and at a weird angle), didn't listen to me about how short to cut my hair (it's still too long) and basically gave me the haircut he wanted to give me. He didn't bother to show me the back either (who knows what that looks like) and I was just glad to get out of the chair with my ears, limbs and other body parts intact. Have heard good things about Emilio and Martin, so maybe will give them a try, but don't expect universal results from everyone in the crew. Other guys were basically laughing at him, so maybe it's time to hang up the scissors. read more

Scheduled with Chuck online painlessly through Schedulicity. I overheard him say that Tuesdays is appointment only, and other days would have barbers that take walk-ins. Paid $35+tip for a super clean, thorough skin fade. Hair vacuum at the end. Barbershop itself has a nice, spacious atmosphere. Chuck was great and a good conversationalist, and I got the sense if you're not a talker he's fine with it too. read more

This place is horrible. Cash only. Barber cut me in four different places around my neck and didn't even say anything. I literally didn't notice until I checked my beard out in the mirror in the car and I saw blood running down my neck. I had to go back in and I showed the bloody neck to the barber in charge and he grimaced at the barber who cut me. I forgot to explain why I went to my car in the first place. I was a few dollars or a dollar short and the barber in charge looked at me and allowed me to go to my car to get the difference. Didn't care at all about my beard by cutting it fast and obviously messing up my line, gave me cuts and thought it didn't matter to even clean it up with alcohol and razor cut stoppers. I've been going here for the last 13 years, as have my dad and brother. For the last 5 years I have struggled with a dermatological disorder called alopecia areata. With this condition, any hair bearing area on my body is susceptible to losing patches of hair for a random duration of time. I have sat in the chairs of Emilio, Chuck, and Harold, all of whom have treated me with the utmost respect and given me a haircut that it is nearly impossible for anyone to tell that I have a disorder, at all.
