I walked in here today... I'm looking around for a new shop. all I wanted to ask was, (1) are you by appointment only (2) what's the price for a haircut. And the owner responds "I don't do designs". This is a problem that we all see everyday... people that don't listen and speak without thinking. Bro, I never asked for a design!! then I told him I get a medium fade with a #2... he says, "oh yeah go to those guys across the high school, they're great at that". Wow, Hahahahahah I'm sure to be a Barber you should know how to do a #2 fade medium fade?!! Assuming something about a person you don't know Is terrible. I felt insulted and stereotyped. Great cuts. Consistent. Good price. Nice guy!

It is hard to write a review because I never actually got to the haircut. I walked in expecting to sit down and wait my turn, but the "barber" wasn't having any of that. I was told in very certain, very grumpy terms that she had someone else coming in after she was done with the person in the chair and when I was very impudent and asked when the next appointment might be, she have a loud, audible sigh and flopped over to the appointment book. I didn't realize I was putting her out so much. After a few moments she fired off a "well, can you be here at 10am tomorrow?????" Having 'can you be here at 10am' barked at me from someone I am going to give money to in a down turn economy quite frankly pissed me off, but I stayed cool said 'no thank you' and walked out. This is a snooty salon, not a barber. I work too hard to drop a single dime in this place and would advise against getting a haircut here. read more

What a shame!!! I have short hair. Needed it cleaned up on the side and back, like ANY guys haircut and the guy would NOT do my hair. I didn't want any frilly bs! Standard cut. Tony is absolutely the man. Its great that he is back in action after a terrible motorcycle accident. He is a great guy to talk to and gets the job done in a timely manner. For the ~2 years he was gone he had a woman in there holding the place down. While I am grateful because without her there would be no Cut, she was terrible and unpleasant. Cool guy with a super cool barber shop, filled with awesome sports and music memorabilia. My husband loves going here and I don't mind going and waiting for him with so much to look at in the shop. So I'm seeing other reviews on this guys with the same thing. He is picky when it comes to who he cuts hair. He prefers them older I guess. I just wanted a fade cut which is a typical barber cut. Glad to see my man Tony is back! True skills at cutting hair, and a nice guy to boot. If there was any fault with the shop, it is that there was not a good "back up quarterback", or second chair. But Tony is worth a try, my first cut with him, I wasn't specific enough, and wifey said I should go back to have him shorten up the sides??? Whaat? To me, it looked good, but I dutifully went back and Tony was especially cool about it, and he did the touch up. He really wants you to be okay with your cut, he graduated at the top of his class, and he takes pride in his work. And YESSS I did look better! And Tony remembers what you like and has me looking like a champ since then. P.s. only four stars cause I don't want him to get TOO popular!?! Great barber place, have been going for a while now and am glad to say how good and professional this place is.

I can't talk much about their haircutting skills because I couldn't get a cut there. Today I stopped on by simply to get the back of my neck trimmed (no more than a 2 min job) and there was two barbers - only one of which was cutting hair. I asked if I could get a quick cleanup on the back of my neck - I was begrudgingly told that they didn't have time. I reminded them I only needed the back cleaned up.....rudely he responded back with he didn't have the time (HE WAS SITTING THERE DOING NOTHING!). This place sucks - wouldn't go back even if they DID have the time. read more

5 star barbershop for guys (sorry gals) who want the same haircut with great results each time. Once I find a great barber, I stay with them. I'm 60 and have had just 2 such barbers prior, and now Tony makes it 3. Very nice shop, really nice guy, and a great consistent haircut (longer, combed straight back in my case). Have had 4 cuts here now, and Tony was welcoming to the new guy in town. Uses a an answering machine for making appts off hours, and he gets right back to you that day with an appt in the time slot you are looking for. Runs about $25 plus tip. read more

Tony is back and I couldn't be happier! Tony was out for two years due to a motorcycle accident. Me and my kids couldn't be happier to see Tony return - Burlingame Avenue is now back to "normal" now that we have a true barber in the neighborhood.
