Came here for Friday dinner. We had to make a reservation and we were seated outside. Area is very beautiful and outside seating feels like a part of inside. Overall very pleasant experience. Service was friendly and attentive. They did work with us on some changes for the food and drinks we ordered. We had beet salad, Brussels sprouts, cioppino, and bolognese. Loved dining at this cute little restaurant in historic Fernandina. It was a short walk from our bed and breakfast. It was a bit difficult to find in the dark. It looks like a house that's set back from the sidewalk. Upon entry we were greeted with a smile. Service was excellent and the server's food recommendations were stellar. The food was delicious and the homemade pasta was light but filling. A pinch of finishing salt would have perfected the dish but we enjoyed it nonetheless. The bread pudding and pecan pie were so so good. Excellent experience and we'll be back next time we're in town. read more

Our original plan was to grab something casual, but the spot we wanted was packed, so we wandered over to The Burlingame, and I'm so glad we did! I wasn't exactly dressed for a nice restaurant, but the staff made us feel completely comfortable and welcome. They mentioned they're bringing some favorites back to the menu, so we started with the Brussels sprouts (highly recommend!) and then ordered entrées. I had the Ragù Bolognese, and my husband had the market fish, which happened to be red snapper that night. Both dishes were absolutely delicious, not a bite left on the plate. The drinks were just as impressive. I had the Lily of the Valley first, then our server had the bartender make me a Hugo, which was so refreshing. My husband enjoyed a 20-year port to finish off the night. All around, this place is an absolute hidden gem, great food, beautiful atmosphere, and friendly service. This was our absolute favorite spot when we went to Amelia Island. We sat at the bar for a drink before dinner and the bartender was extremely helpful and recommended a great bottle of wine. The service was excellent and food was delicious. I got the ragu and my wife got the wagyu, highly recommend both. Definitely a higher end experience and it came through in all aspects. read more

Burlingame was one of our favorites! It was our first stop, and we were so happy to have visited. We were so hungry and cleaned our plates! The oysters were fresh. The octopus was cooked perfectly. I will say I was not super into the fish dip, but it was not bad! Our entrees were both delicious, and we wouldn't have had it any other way. Service was top notch. First let me start off by saying the food was excellent. No one in our group of 8 women had any complaint about their order. In fact, most loved it. The problem (and he was a problem) was our waiter, Jared. He was unbelievably rude. It started when a member of our group asked about specials. He snapped at her and told her that she should let him finish (mind you, he wasn't saying anything at the time). He didn't seem to want to give us happy hour pricing on our wine even though we were in the last 30 mins of happy hour. But the best was yet to come. A member of our table asked for a piece of bread to soak up the sauce on her plate. He told her point blank that he would not give her a slice of bread as that was reserved for other customers. We thought it was a joke and laughed, but it wasn't a joke. He refused to give her a slice of bread. I have an expense account and travel quite a bit. I have never ever had this happen. Are you kidding? Jared ruined our dining experience. He should NOT be working in a position that requires dealing with the public. Perhaps he could work on a road crew or something. I think part of his behavior can be attributed to the restaurant's policy of charging 25% for gratuity on parties of 8. He knew he was getting 25% of our meal (which turned out to be $150) and decided that he could be as rude as he wanted to be. Believe me, he didn't deserve a tip and should be let go. I welcome managment's explanation for his treatment of us. read more

In with friends based on their recommendation. Unfortunately, our friends made a reservation for the wrong day! But the staff handled it well, slipping us in to a table that had not shown up for their reservation after 20 minutes. The restaurant is small but cozy, and everyone was dining inside in the 90+ degree heat. In another turn, they forgot to assign a server...we had our drinks from the wait at the bar so we muddled through. The oysters were delicious. The wines we brought were excellent with out good. They had a really nice wine list. Corkage policy: One bottle of wine not on our list per four guests; $25 / 750 ml corkage My dry-aged steak was cooked perfectly but was overly fatty - had to trim considerably. The crab cakes were terrific as was the pork chop. Very good but just short of fantastic. read more

Last night we went to Burlingame and we will definitely be back! The atmosphere upon entering is inviting, clean, warm with soft light and lots of windows and greenery surrounding it. The outside patio with its hanging lights made it feel cozy. David was our server and he was so knowledgeable about the restaurant (chef) (everything made in house) and the menu. Even our hostess was so nice checking on tables to see if they needed anything. The Brussel sprout starter was delicious! My bolognese was also delicious and the serving was more than enough. My husband's market fish (halibut) was also outstanding. We finished the meal with a French press coffee and chocolate torte! So if you get a chance, make a reservation here! Came here for our anniversary dinner. The staff acknowledged our anniversary and congratulated us. Staff explained all mela options extremely well. The food was well played and delicious. Wow! This place will not disappoint. Environment is cool in an old house, but contemporary sophisticated look inside. That said who cares the food is amazing. Very high quality and unique gourmet dishes from seafood to steak. Everything we had was killer; oysters, octopus, halibut, bolognese, grilled gem salad and fished it off with the pecan pie. Go. Outstanding! My wife and I are visiting for a mini vacation and picked Burlingame as a Saturday night high-end date. . We were both exceptionally pleased. Wow, Burlingame is amazing. It was our anniversary and I had let them know in the reservation I made. They greeted us with some champagne and the server was truly fantastic. Not very crowded on a Monday night in October, but still a great vibe and all of the customers seemed very happy. We started with some oysters - they were perfect. My wife had the Lamb shank - this was so good! I tend to not eat much red meat but after trying her lamb, I might change that! I had the fish special (Mahi) - huge portion and the sauce was light but really tasty. The only downside was that the portions were so big we were too full to try a dessert. Next time! Anyways, our server was pretty friendly, and we can't complain about the ambience. Here's what we tried: -Crab Dip: 10/10 - SOOO YUMMY! Perfect crab dip, so rich, so flavorful. -Lobster Bisque: 2/10 - This wasn't bisque, it wasn't even chowder. It was so thick and had no real taste to it. -Goat Cheese Burger: 9/10 - creamy, goat cheese was the star, overall delicious. fries were good too! -Lobster Ravioli: 7/10 - disappointing, to be honest. Sauce was great but the ravioli itself kind of tasted like frozen lobster ravioli. -French dip Sandwich: 6/10 - super salty, very savory, but very little depth of flavor. Could've used something zingy. -Chocolate Cake: 9/10 - no one can argue with a chocolate cake. I mean come on! I loved that it came out cold and dense.

The inside of the bar had beautiful crown molding on the ceiling. I will say even tho the bar is big, seating was limited. They must keep it more open for dancing/standing when the music comes on. They had a decent selection of beers on draft. But they didn't have any ciders which wasn't too surprising. I've become spoiled with all the cideries in New England. I got a Big Wave and my hubby got a Guinness. Service was fast and friendly. The music was a vibe - Maroon 5. The patrons were friendly. Def check it out if you're in the area!

We had the shrimp empanadas off of the appetizer menu. I had a half dozen oysters, the pelican original way, I highly recommend them!
