The Burlington Boathouse is a great spot if you're craving a classic Indiana tenderloin. The star of the meal was definitely the tenderloin--thin, juicy, and cooked just right with a crispy, flavorful breading that stayed crunchy from the first bite to the last. It had a great balance of seasoning and texture, making it one of the better tenderloins I've had in the area. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it an enjoyable place to sit down and enjoy a meal with family or friends. While the food was excellent, the service was a little questionable during our visit. It wasn't unfriendly, but it felt inconsistent and slower than expected (the ignored us after the food was delivered and nobody responded when we stood to leave), which kept the experience from being perfect. Fortunately, the quality of the food more than made up for it. If you're looking for a delicious, well-prepared tenderloin in Burlington, the Boathouse is definitely worth a visit, and I'd happily return for another sandwich. Servers were very nice. Very cute decorations and set up inside. Seemed to be pretty busy. I ordered chili and chicken tenders and fries. The chili wasn't very warm but had a bunch of toppings on it like onions and sour cream. Tasted ok just seemed like it had been sitting out for a while. The chicken tenders were pretty good. The fries were rubbery and not warm either. Not impressed on the food. Might try again. Maybe they'll redeem themselves. read more

We have eaten at the Burlington Boathouse many times, in the restaurant and for carry-out. Over the last 6-8 months the place has declined. The food portions have "significantly" decreased and their food freshness is lacking. It's sad to see a place wilt like they have. The salad dressing is so watered down it doesn't even cling to the salad. We got tenderloin and a grilled chicken sandwich, neither sandwich was big enough to fill the bun and they both were pounded so thin. What was the absolute worst was an appetizer order of calibites (breaded cauliflower). The picture speaks for itself. Last warning: Everything we ordered cost more than the price reflected on their website. The calibites are listed for $8, we were charged $10. read more

A hidden gem. Good food, great service. Our server, Marah, gave us some of the best service we have experienced in awhile. We've been here twice. The first time I was pretty blown away. I gave it a rare 5 stars. We both ordered the seafood platter and they were huge. We had enough left over for another meal. The second time we visited we ordered the same thing. This time the portion was less than half the size. My wife didn't even care for it the second time around so she ordered a small pizza. This is one of the best meals we have had in a long time! The selection is HUGE. Burgers galore, Subs, TENDERLOIN, appetizers, salads, Pizza plus daily specials. The portions are huge!!! Great value. We will definitely be back. I finished my single spicy River burger with breaded banana peppers but my Wife couldn't even come close to finishing her mushroom /Swiss burger and tots. My Granddaughter was also not able to finish her double cheese burger with bacon and tots. They each had nearly enough for another meal they brought home with them. read more

We ordered Breaded Tenderloin sandwiches to go. I would rather purchase a Pete's Pride from the store. The breading was cornmeal & it wasn't even attached to the meat. Meat was tough & tasteless. We've not chanced it again. The sandwiches were so bad, they even pitched them. We don't go out to eat on a regular basis. We work hard for our money. So when we spend it and are looking forward to it, that's even more disappointing. I would also like to add this was a year or two ago. Maybe other items are amazing. Terrible service, worst waitress we've EVER had. She took our order, brought our drinks & then we didn't see her for an hour. We ordered appetizers and two dinners. After 60 minutes of waiting and watching other people get served, our son went to the bar to complain. The waitress finally returned to our table, told us she forgot to enter our order and left. We had to ask another waitress for drink refills. Finally, after 80 minutes our food came all at once. Maybe she doesn't understand that appetizers are served first? The food was actually very good & the musicians were great, or I wouldn't even give it 2 stars. The waitress then brought a check for our meals and drinks for the band. We weren't part of the band! Really disappointed in our service tonight. Our waitress was very nice. She greeted us upon arrival and took our orders quickly. My husband and I both ordered water to drink. Those came out quickly. He ordered a sandwhich and chips. I ordered a stromboli and tots. We ordered a basket of onion rings. An hour and 15 minutes later, all we still had was our waters! and to top that off, our waitress never even came to ask if we needed those refilled.
