Shortly upon arrival, we figured out it's an outdoor shopping mall with an upscale mix of name brand stores, boutique shops, elevated restaurants, food court with quick bites/snack/drink vendors, and fun entertainment. Overall exterior was well cared for in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. It wasn't super busy nor crowded which is great sometimes because congestion of people traffic may make our dining and shopping experience a bit hard to handle. We got to see the Disney+ Hulu Throwbacks Mini Mall Pop Up showcased in the huge courtyard. It brought back some nostalgia. Neat retro activity! We hit the food court first since we were starving. That being said, ROW DTLA is a dreamscape when it comes to filming content and just catching city vibes in a safe space. Located near the Arts District this space of buildings used to be utilized for the textile industry. With multi floored buildings creating rows of foot traffic on the ground this space is perfect for events, pop ups, and get togethers. It's one of the reasons why Smorgasburg is held here on Sundays. It's why on any given weekend there may be an event being held, whether it be to celebrate AAPI month or the different creatives in the area. This space is filled with homegrown businesses and unique shops to visit. One of my favorite places is Hightide which is a Japanese stationary and supplies shop. The vibes are immaculate and walking in really feels like being in a store in Japan. Another popular space is Scent Bar for those who love perfume and are aromaphiles. With plenty of small curated artists being featured in this apothecary of aromas, Scent Bar is a nice stop whilst visiting the Row. If you're looking for interesting and discussion worthy furniture A+R is a must, located at one of the ends of the Row. For good coffee with artistic vibes you got to check out GGET (Go Get Em Tiger). Next to that if you're looking for stronger waters is Flask & Field with smaller batch and independent distilleries and crafters. All of this and the parking is free for the first 2 hours. In LA, that's unheard of! And it's a large parking structure with modern infrastructure. Blessed. With all this, hopefully ROW DTLA will continue to grow with more businesses and still retain its charm as time marches forward. I frequently walk to this Nordstroms and like to pass through to see their latest inventory. To be…read morehonest, the store isn't the biggest Nordstroms and I've found that sizes are limited at this location, especially for me as a petite woman. If you're looking for something specific I would order online and then you can pickup here on the second floor. The reason for the lower star rating is that I've had sub-par experiences here with the sales associates including: 1) I came to return an online order and the sales associate didn't know how to clear the return. When she "finished," I asked her for a receipt and she said I didn't need one which I thought was weird. She then called someone on the phone who validated I was all set so I left. Obviously this was a big mistake and I never got the refund. Had to go back a few weeks later and plead with customer service that I actually returned the item which was a hassle. 2) I came in on a weekend when the store was really busy. I had three jackets I was considering buying and tried them on in front of a mirror. Note they could really use more mirrors on the floor but I suspect they are tying to limit people trying clothes on when not in a fitting room. Regardless, these were all outerwear jackets so I did not feel I needed a fitting room. An associate came up to me and asked if I needed help and I told her no, I was just trying on these jackets. I then went to put two of them back and she followed me all around the store and asked if she could hold the one I still had at the register. I told her I was still thinking about it and would hold onto it while I kept browsing. She didn't seem to like that answer and took it from my hands to then talk about how it was the last one in the store and I should make a decision quickly. Really unpleasant behavior to shop around.
