I go to this Burlington 2-3 times a week. In line I was standing with my daughter and a middle aged woman started fighting with my 16 year old daughter. The manager dismissed it and escorted us out of the establishment even though my minor daughter was the one being harassed. Nice things at good prices but be prepared to wait. Last 4 times coming here I've waited over 30 min to check out. They never have more than two cashiers no matter what time of the day. Manager has no problem closing registers even when there are 40 people waiting in line. There are always 3 or 4 people behind register organizing instead of helping reduce the wait time. read more

I have to agree with reviewers who ask what has happened with this store. I used to shop here quite frequently. I bought a winter coat here as a matter of fact. The products were really quite good..still might be. I wouldn't know as I have not purchased from here in awhile. I have been here though recently..twice. And I agree with reviewers..the place seems just..forgotten. Once when I was here I think I was one of the only customers and it was the middle of the day. They do not seem to have that focus on quality items like coats anymore. I mean it's not the same here at all. Last time I was here it was so quiet you could hear your voice echo. Service wasn't great but service has never been great here. But at least in the past, there were a steady stream of people who looked happy to be shopping there and the store looked populated and inviting. They still have clothes..lots of sparkly things. Some of them look quite nice actually but..I'm not sure about quality. It doesn't even seem like the same place anymore. The prices are still good. Last time I was there, the few people who were also there were calling across the store to each other and that was pretty much the only sound in the whole store. It was a little odd. The great value on name brand shoes, shirts, and apparel will come with its own price. Found a steal on a pair of Skechers? Congrats - you will be rewarded with a check out line queue of at least 20 patrons in front of you. And this is on a *weekday*. I would avoid coming here on any holiday during the school year, and (of course) on any weekend, when your shopping experience will consist of wading through aisles that look like a tornado hit them, and waiting even longer in line. It's basically Six Flags without the Flash Pass. That said, excellent name brand suits that will save you $$$ off of big box retailers. They even have a tailor on site who can customize your look for a few bucks more. read more

Burlington Coat Factory is one of my favorite stores all year round. Here you can find nice clothes for a sweet price. The spot for me to get, shoes, dress shirts, ties, jeans, jackets, fragrances etc. etc. I can spend all day in Burlington, and I mean all day, and I have no problem to come back the next day and do the whole thing all over. read more

Made the mistake of going in the Stratford, CT Burlington store today. Half the merchandise is on the floor where the clientele tosses it. Attire for sale is all down-market extra-casual: printed t-shirts, sweats, shorts. Not a pair of khakis or an Oxford dress shirt in sight. Urchins running up and down the aisles unattended, screeching and knocking into everyone and everything. The other day I happened to be walking by this store when two "youths" dashed out the door with armloads of clothes while pursued by store personnel. The former made a quick getaway peeling out of the parking lot in a vehicle that was no doubt stolen; no use in the latter getting the license plate number. Should have taken this as my warning to stay away. Back when it was Burlington Coat Factory, this chain used to be known as a place where you could go to find reasonably priced dressy clothes. Not anymore. Everything now is just ghettotastic. read more

This place is the worst!!! I went to get my daughter shoes I stood in line for 25 to 35 minutes. That's ridiculous and uncalled for. There always a long line. There like 10 cashiers and only like two maybe 3 people working them. This place needs to hire more people I don't understand the problem here if your running a store and you that the line goes almost to the back that don't make you think you don't have to hire more people. This store is AWFUL! You would think coming here and getting decent prices would make the line worth it, nope! I'd rather pay double the price anywhere else than wait here. The line is always 30+ minutes, there's negatice 2 employees working the register and even though the line is long the workers are on their phones or sorting through hangers as the line continues to grow. Had to stop in to help a student get an outfit for their graduation dinner dance. It seemed like there was nothing on the rack. We only had about 3 things to choose from. Luckily the young man found something he liked but wow almost nothing to pick from. The prices were pretty good so I am not complaining about that but oh well. read more

Then only reason this Burlington gets 3 stars instead of 2 is because the Stamford one recently got rid of a lot of sections, including the Big & Tall Men section. The largest mens size you can now find in the Stamford location is XXL, if you're lucky. There is no help available here, and I always feel a little weird when I walk into this store...like I'm surrounded by a bunch of shady characters. The layout is also terrible. It's a workout to walk from one end of the store to the other, and sometimes, I'm just not in the mood. Especially after I've just stuffed myself with burgers and ice cream. However, I'm always able to find a deal here for the bf. read more

Burlington used have some good merchandise hiding amongst the cheap quality items... But now the good stuffbis gone... Ross is still similar to how Burlington once was but Ross doesn't carry odd lots of high quality brands like Burlington once did... Must have changed hands to have fallen so far. read more

I'd shop here more often, but most the staff are different or just plain rude, and the clientele are often worse. Customers are often YELLING across the place to find the person they are shopping with, and children are commonly ignored or unattended. A few decent bargains here and there, but a lot of poor quality crap has to be sifted through. Often not worth the energy expended. and you have to know how much things cost to get real value. read more

What happened to this place? I've bought a suit from here before and countless shirts and ties. Went the today looking for a shirt and tie and there was nothing. All they had were racks and racks of street clothes. This store is now just your everyday normal clothing store. No more formal clothing. I like Burlington coat factory whenever I'm shopping for a coat for myself or my daughter. They have tons of selection and name brands. The prices are very good. This store has a huge clothing department for men, women and children. I don't usually go there for clothes shopping, so I can't really comment on the clothing. I have bought a few coats here over the years, and I have not been disappointed. Today I went in and found a winter jacket at a great deal. It's definitely worth the trip if you are looking for a nice coat and want a huge selection at one stop. read more

I prefer to visit during the day time. .otherwise it's kind of busy. I'm giving this location only 3 stars because often there's some "sketchy" to "low end" customers who just make you feel uncomfortable when you're there. When I'm shopping I'd like to focus on finding a good deal in my size, not worry about how another customer may randomly start a scene, get arrested for shoplifting, etc. I know they're trying to clean it up, just a few more things to get them past these issues. Seems like they're remodeling the store to make things easier to find & prevent theft. Old Shelving was too easy (it seemed, as I seen "sketchy" people used to "go hide"), now with the new "shelving/racks" those shady characters won't be able to steal as easy, which is good for the honest consumer...less loss for the company equals more savings (instead of prices inflating to compensate for company losses), & who doesn't like to save an honest dollar??!! Good bargains on nice dress clothes for the family! Yay! I like the store. One small minus is I really hope they deep clean the carpets, they're in desperate need of a cleansing. This place is what it is - a big discount store with some good stuff and some not so good, but what we appreciated was some VERY helpful staffers. We wanted to try on some shoes that were still tied together (! a bit hard to walk in!) and twice a nice person went all the way back to the cash registers to get scissors and untie them. read more

Worst experience I have ever had at store. I needed a suit to go to a wedding so I decided to go here since they have a tailor. I talked to the tailor and he was on the phone the entire time he was talking to me. (He was talking to one of his friends). Every time I asked him a question he just told me to look for it on the floor. Finally he moved from his spot and found the coat for me. ( everything was out of order and their was clothes thrown all over the floor) another couple came up to him and he hung up the phone and helped them while I was waiting. When I finally left the area to go and pay they told me they would not sell me the coat since it did not have the pants with it. I told them how none of clothes are in order and they looked at me like I was crazy. One of the people at the registers went over to the rack to look at the clothes and she started tearing all the jackets down cause they were in the wrong area. They defiantly need to hire someone else that can be more professional then this tailor was. I've never felt so disrespected in a department store ever. I usually come here and buy a lot of their products and clothes because they have good prices but because of how horrible the customer service there is I will possibly never return to buy anything at the store ever again. I went in to return a coat I had paid over $80 for and when i bought the coat I had paid over $150 on other merchandise they had, when I came to return there is no return line so I had to wait in a really long line ( I was returning the coat because of the horrible quality , after trying it on the inner lining of it was ripping really badly and the zipper was terribly bad ) , when I went to return it they had looked at the coat with a look of disgust because it had a bit of dust on it ( from being on the floor when I bought it ) and they told me to hold on so they can call the manager and she had told me I changed to tags to $80 just so I can get "more money" back when really all I asked for was an exchange! She had then told me I was lying when I said I didn't change the tag when you can clearly see the product serial number in the jacket matches with the one on the tags. ( I had no receipt ) Even with no receipt burlington is supposed to give me a gift card with the balance matching the price I paid for the merchandise. I could not believe the manager or worker had told me that I was lying that I had changed the tags even when I showed her the same jacket they had for sale with the same tags on it !!! @@@DO NOT BUY FROM BURLINGTON@@@ Their prices are still costly even for their items being on "sale" What they have done has never happened to me anywhere else. read more
