Burlington Coat Factory in Britton Plaza usually has great deals and a wide selection. I most often drop in to look through the women's shoe and handbag selection each season. The handbag section is well-kept and orderly, and the shoes usually are, too. The housewares aren't always organized and many aisles can be sparse. The bulk of the store is definitely clothing, and there are many aisles of options. However, if you're looking for clothes, the dressing room availability is hit or miss, so keep that in mind. The store restrooms are dismal, often lacking paper towels and soap and the bathroom doesn't appear to have been properly cleaned in a very long time. The staff are usually nice enough and the security person at the door is always friendly. The parking in Britton Plaza can be a little dicey (regarding security) in the evenings, so opt for daylight when possible. So, I'd say to stop in here for some good deals from time to time, but don't expect a department store experience. read more

I love to shop here and though it became a place that has a basement smell and is always dark inside I still come. There are some really nice clothing choices in here being name brand. On the way to the airport, there was a Burlington Coat Factory and silly me, I trusted they would sell raincoats as their labels indicated. I purchased a Calvin Klein "raincoat" for over $50.00 to only get soaking wet during my trip to Europe, and on top of everything I caught a terrible cold as a result of getting wet. I called the store to find out if I could return the horrible coat for a store credit, and the sales person said "you need to be a loyalty member or show a receipt." I am sure I lost the receipt between the airport in Tampa and Portugal, and there is NO WAY I would ever become a loyalty member of a business that sells products to mislead their customers. I will never shop at Burlington again. I don't care the bargains as there are plenty of bargain type stores in the Tampa area. I bought 2 towels a couple of weeks ago. They shed like crazy and left blue dust all over the shower, tub and floor. I washed them twice but it continued so I decided it would never stop. I had my receipt and tried returning them to the Citrus Park Burlington store and was told that they could not return any "used" items. I do understand that this is common policy however I have returned "used" items to many stores when the product is faulty and I have always received my money back. The towels were made by Nautica so I'm sure Burlington can return to the manufacturer or supplier. The Mgr was also not at all sympathetic and somewhat confrontational. I remember this store being wall-to-wall coats for all seasons. When I checked this store out I literally felt like I'd walked into a Salvation Army or Goodwill store. This place has -everything-. What I was looking for was a pair of kitten heels (found them) but I ended up finding so much more. I found a few shirts and some pants for my husband in their "Big & Tall" section. Some racy lingerie for myself - and for the husbeastie for Xmas. By far the worst burlington all the way from st pete to palm harbor to Tampa, yes I've been to all of them. Honestly, I don't remember it being this horrible but I can safely say, its horrible. A) The store lacks organization (esp when compared to all other stores), it's absolute chaos! B) the bathrooms are disgusting! I almost threw up and the store needs to focus on it's overall hygiene as well! C) an older woman fell and was immobile, the lady who witnessed this rushed to her aid and screamed for help, I ran over screamed for help, no floor employees on site, I ran to the registered and requested help only to get blank faces, finally someone used their walkie, I rushed back, the lady was still on the floor, minutes later she finally got up, her son came up and took her out of the store. 5 minutes if not more later a guy shows up with a clipboard! ***Please train your employees on safety procedures!! There is a lawsuit waiting to happen! Also, look in to drastically improving management if you want to better your business model and improve sales. This was just a horrendous experience! I left my sunglasses behind and needed a "get me through the weekend" pair so I stopped in to see what I could get. There was only one nice pair but they were the best pair and exactly what I needed. 13 bucks later I had a 90's style blue-tinted Tahari sunglasses frame and was no longer squinting while driving. I took a glance at the clothes and grabbed this cute blouse on sale which fit perfectly. The store was pretty organized and due to the vast amount of parking, I was able to be in and out in a jiffy. It's right in the heart of town and easily accesible when in the southern tip of the Tampa Bay Area. The line moves fast and there's a bunch of trinkets totally worth your time on the checkout aisle. Highly recommend that you come in with patience because finding the right size can be a struggle. Also don't bring your children unless your going to be in and out. I went in here thinking I was going to buy some beachwear, but was pretty disappointed at what they had for sale. I saw a lot of good deals for a lot of other clothes and kitchen goods, but do I really need stuff for my kitchen now? Maybe I should have came another day. My boyfriend and I found what we needed today at this store and it was pretty cheap too. That being said, I could only give this business 3 stars. Allow me to explain. He needed a suit for a wedding, so we pick out the jacket and pants and head to the dressing room. He went in to try on the clothes and I sat outside. He then opened the door and expressed concern about the fit of the pants, so I entered the dressing room. This is where the train derails. I was instantly assaulted by the most putrid, foul smell that I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing. I asked my boyfriend what that smell was and he said he didn't know but was horrified as it was atrocious. It can only be described as a rotten foot, mixed with a dirty butt and in fact, I did describe it as such multiple times out loud, prompting a man in another changing room to yell out in agreement. My boyfriend thinks some Lysol would help while I believe a dousing of muratic acid may be more suitable, but either way, something must be done. But yeah, good stuff and prices. That dressing room will haunt me for years to come though, hence the two star deduction :( read more

The store is super-depressing like some sort of dilapidated warehouse with used baby diapers in the parking lot and busted carts but my god, THE PRICES! They have almost identical home décor crap to a Marshalls or TJ Maxx with even lower prices. It's my new destination for men's and kids' clothing. I consistently score great buys on good name brands. I was able to do all of my son's school-uniform shopping here, and we recently purchased a fantastic men's suit and dress shirt here for probably a third of what it would have been regular retail. Where Burlington beats Marshall's or TJ Maxx in these departments is in selection. There are literally hundreds of suits and suit separates in every size (including the Long we need). The designer assortment is solid, and nothing we've found has been marked Irregular. The reason for the missing star is probably the overall shopping experience. This Burlington just underwent a mild interior remodel that includes repositioning the checkout lanes and adding some new cashier technology, and that has helped. But, for the most part, the store is a bit dark and dingy, and a couple visits ago, the second floor had a broken A/C unit (and an obnoxiously loud temporary fan). I find myself wanting to get in and shop quickly, versus linger and browse like I might do at Marshall's or TJ Maxx. read more

I hate shopping, so I like it when a layout helps me out a little. In this case A LOT. There's a Big Lots, Dollar Tree, Bealls Outlet, Marshalls and the Tapper Pub all in this strip mall to help you find whatever garbage you didn't know you wanted! I say take mom here, and just set her free, she'll find herself something nice, guaranteed. They have a big and tall section too, which was a nice surprise. The sale jewelry was fun to look thru, and I found just the blue shoes I was looking for. If you have to shop you might as well stop at a one stop, and this may just be it. Sure, it's pretty ghetto, but that helps keep your pace up, although I must say everyone I encountered was surprisingly nice for being located in a more depressing part of town. I like this Burlington store. It's never quite organized but they do a pretty good job of keeping things in their respective sections. The reason I like this location is because I can often avoid a trip to the mall (which I hate) and I score some major deals! This store is not for everyone, you do have to take your time and look around but trust me you will more often than not find something worth purchasing. Clothing can be tricky and typically it is not great quality stuff, though I will say they have some great work out/ athletic gear from top brands at major discounts- Nike, Adidas, Puma, Calvin Klein, etc. Their shoe section is bomb and a section I will always walk through when I stop by this location. I almost didn't want to share that, don't want everyone coming in and buying up all the hot shoes! Home decor is a great buy too and my ultimate favorite thing to buy here are the Yankee Candles! You can usually score the tall one for around $10. They have a variety of scents and switch them out often. If you are really lucky you might find one in the clearance section for much less! Also, the woman's bathroom was a HORROR show, it's never been super clean, but it was so bad it was a borderline heath hazard.
