My husband and I stopped by this store since we have shopped at this chain when visiting Kentucky, Ohio, and Kansas City in the past. It is definitely a large size store and they utilize the space well. They carry electronics, home goods, housewares, kitchen items, outdoor items, furniture, mattresses, gardening items, toiletries, clothing, electronics, and pantry items. The deals are pretty good, and sometimes they have things on clearance (watch for food items, since the dates are either close to the sell by dates or even past the sell by dates). I mean, I wasn't really in the market for specific items, but we found a meat probe for a good price, and actually some snacks too. It's too bad that I didn't live closer because they had patio furniture for sale at this one, and it would've definitely been worth the drive! The food aisles were plentiful (not like a different location that was mostly slim pickings). They do change out their inventory regularly, since this is a close out type of store. It was pretty clean and organized too! And from what I saw, service was pretty top notch--a few of us were looking for advertised deals and the staff (register people) hopped off and assisted with all of our questions and walked us over to the areas we needed to go to. If I'm ever in the area again, I plan to make a special trip out to this store! read more

They carry a wide variety of merchandise. It is a great place to shop and save. When living in Frankfort, KY is when I first shopped at this location. Never a disappoint when I went into the store. Not always the most organized, but the shopping experience was always pleasant. The book section was the best part for me. Nearly every kind of book you can think of sold in this store. I always consider Ollie's when I'm looking for things that you can pick up at TJ Maxx, Marshalls big lots home store, etc. Always consider Ollie's for spring summer fall holidays Fourth of July Easter. I liked Ollie's but the old cashier today was a total bitch probably about 70 years old . There is a place we're supposed to wait to be cashed out. There was someone ahead of me and I thought she left because she walked away. I didn't realize she walked away to get something so i walked up and a lady started yelling that I need to go back to where I was and that she'll call me when shes ready. She had a real bad nasty attitude so I put my stuff down that I was going to buy and I left. I told a manager that was standing right there; and I was walking out that the cashier s got a real bad attitude and she said absolutely nothing to me and started running over ro grab the stuff I had put down she was more concerned with that. She was another older lady of maybe 70.. not good for business won't go back. Neither one of them should be in their positions. It's bad enough you go in there sometimes and they dont have but maybe one or two cashiers at the most but to put up with attitude from a nasty old cashier and walk by manager that didn't even seem to care is too much for me we'll never go back read more

I received a 15 percent off entire purchase coupon in the mail, and since I was in the area and wanted a few items, I stopped in. I believe this store is closing. Many shelves are either half stocked or totally removed. The items I wanted to purchase are totally gone. I even asked the clerk at Check Out if the store is closing. She replied that she hopes not as she was recently hired. (If she shopped here a year ago, she would've known just how much their inventory has shrunk.) But, I did find an eight-ounce bag of an unusual brand of coffee for only $1.69 to try. So, this visit was not a total loss. If you're thinking of checking out Ollie's better hurry as their inventory is shrinking. read more

Largest of the Ollies I've been too. Product repeats in different sections of the store says there's too much space, not enough product for the location, but I suppose that means they can always get more stuff in. We went before Phase 3 opened, so they were still social distancing, they were still wearing masks (And should be still). Their book section was HUGE and well spaced out. They have lots of coloring books and reader glasses, if you're the type who doesn't want the stigma of always wearing specs. Toys were prevalent, we saw they had the teenage mutant ninja turtles, a whole set, but one of them was boxed wrong so it looked like you'd have gotten 2 Raphaels, but you would have actually gotten them all. A collectors gaffe. We didn't buy it. The store was disorganize but fun. read more

Ollie's is basically a supercharged Big lots. They sell a wide variety of items ranging from toys,toiletries,snacks,vacuums, luggage and all are at severely reduced prices compared to mainstream dept stores. I have visited twice and have bought some snacks/toiletries. The layout is quite large and generally clean. However, many items are always changing location within their section. On my first time, the Transformers were in the toy section, then the next tine they were on a cart close to the register. The nature of this being a discounter is that the stock tends to be older and sells quickly with a small chance of getting the exact item you want. That being said, their toy section doesnt look like King Kong and Godzilla had "relations" like Ross/TJMaxx et al Occasionally, they will have some super expensive Transformer like TR Trypticon for $40 (MSRP $150). While I seem to miss out on those crazy deals, they are present. (Check TFW2005 for news of those events) While this location is a bit far from me, if I lived closer I would come in frequently for certain nick nacks. read more

The name says it all "Bargain Outlet". This is a giant discount store with items from appliances, car care, books, toiletries, cookware, food, animal care, etc. This was my first visit to just browse on my lunch break. Probably not a place I'd make as my ideal stop because even though the prices are good on certain things, they aren't that much cheaper. I could get a portable heater for my desk, for example, from here for the same price as Amazon. Keep in mind though that if you join Ollie's rewards program that you get the occasional coupons and a 15% off the first time you sign up. read more

Came in the day after grand opening. I can see myself coming back for certain things. I'd say this place is a cross between Big Lots and Old Time Pottery. The best thing I think they sell here are remnant rugs and rug pads. If you ever need to change out a room's carpet a remnant is the least expensive way to go and here you can get one at a fraction of what you would at Bob's...where I got one for my son's room when we bought our home a few months back. Too bad this wasn't around. Since all the items are closeouts it's hit or miss on whether you're getting a good deal. It's worth a browse if you have time. I bought a bissell hand vac for $10. I have a month to return it but I have yet to take it out of the box...we'll see. read more

Ollie's is a pretty cool and interesting place but it didn't have too much of things that I needed or the price that felt different elsewhere. When you walk in, it's like a warehouse with thousands of items. Books to your right as you walk in and garden and outside furniture welcome you. The aisles are pretty clear and helpful for what you are looking for. They have board games, toys for kids, fishing items, rugs of all sizes, almost anything you can think of! It's a very great place to just walk around and look. Sometimes they will have things at a really good price but it'll be gone if you're not quick enough. They also have occasional wedding buyouts and seasonal items which is cool if you are looking for those things. I don't really make the trip out to Ollie's unless I am just in the area but when I do go, I rarely ever buy anything without their email coupons. Some prices are VERY competitive such as their Bengay cream is $3.25 compared to Walmart at $6.50! So there are definitely deals for the items that you may need. I like this store, just not enough to make the trip out until I am in the area. read more

Hit or miss. First visit was a hit. Tons of good stuff. Second visit, a miss. Food shelves near empty. No cleaners/disinfectants, only big glass bottles of liquid sanitizer. I guess if you are in the area, stop in. We made a 35 minute trip today for a bust. They look like they have not gotten a truck in awhile. Many advertised items (flexible hose) were sold out. As far as I can see that this place is as described a bargain outlet. They have good deals on many different things. You can't come in here expecting target because you will be disappointed. It's a no frills place that has nicely discounted items. You have to remember this is a new place so they are going to have some things to work out. Of course it's going to be crowded when it first opens because it's new. There is nothing they can do about the lines but the staff was friendly. There were multiple registers open when I went and they process went fast. It reminds me of big lots but cheaper. They have more name brands than big lots and a bigger selection. They even have flooring which is something you will not find at big lots. They had led lights for .99, 12 kcups for 3.99, coffee makers for 19.99 to name some deal examples. They had nice big name brand olay and dove soaps for a great price as well. I would come back here again. read more

Not much of anything is a bargain. Tide was $6.55 but was $5.45 at Walmart. They also have a 1% surcharge for using a credit card.

I can't agree more with previous Yelp reviews about how this place feels like a Big Lots. Was Ollie a higher up at Big Lots at some point and have some sort of falling out with them and then decide to open up this dump? Who knows, but I'll go along with it. I'll give you a quick summary of Ollie's: Everything in here is crap that you walk by and try to convince yourself why you should buy it. You don't need it, but it's "cheap" so you tell yourself you will find a way to use it. Three years later you laugh at yourself for buying a toaster oven that you have used twice. If you like bargains this is a interesting and clever store. If you like regular type department stores with the usual stuff on the shelf like Target and Walmart then shop at them. Looking for some good deals head on over there...its hit or miss what is in stock but always good deals. At Christmas they have a great toy section with big deals. I would agree that this is a significant step up from Big Lots, and they certainly have a bigger selection, though most Big Lots I have been in have a better selection of furniture if that is what you are looking for. The first day it was very crowded, but I have been in twice since, and there were no lines at all. One significant drawback is that they have no riding carts, and I have fibromyalgia, so with the size of the store, it is very difficult to shop there. The biggest disappointment came after I gave them my email for a discount card, which promised a 15% off certificate plus points to accumulate for further discounts. I have tried twice to register the card in order to get the discounts; the first time, the site was down. I tried the next day on my phone, but their mobile site apparently doesn't allow this function, so I tried my computer immediately after. The site was working, but after trying to register the card with my email, name, AND phone number, I got three errors that the member number wasn't recognized (and the cashier did scan it at the store). I called the customer service number, but they aren't open on weekends. So I called the store, and apparently this is a known issue that they couldn't do anything about. Not good. That said, I have a large family, and looking for good deals takes a significant amount of my time. If I need something, I will still look/come here. read more
