It is an old house that is somewhat large, has two floors of items within about six separate rooms - generally living room or bedroom sized. The Thrifter Sisters is a must-visit place (and one of my secret places) for Lilly treasure! My most recent score was a hard to find Lilly maxi in a stunning print that was priced like a dream! (I also have a new blazer from here that I bought for a dollar-yes one dollar). The Thrifter Sisters was started by three sisters and they have the best stuff. They have a huge variety of name-brand pieces (think everything from Maurice's and Kohls to Carhartt and Janie and Jack Kids) and it's so fun to pop in and see what they have. They also have a room of children's clothes (this is located where the old Kinder Kloset store was). They also sell new hair bows and a small selection of new kids toys too. Thrifter Sisters is clean and they keep their inventory well organized. I liked that they had a lot of brand new accessories for adults and hair bows for kids. There is plenty of free parking and another gift store next door. There is also a yummy coffee shop nearby and a nearby consignment and crystal store that are both great. Just yesterday I picked up an RC car off of marketplace and was toying around with it outside and quickly found out that it would be more suitable on a track rather than the narrow roads around my trailer park. I did some searching on google and found a hobby store not too far from me that has an indoor race track meant for these things. Before heading there today, I called the shop and politely inquired about their race track and what the process is for using their track, assuming there would possibly be a sign up, or some other barrier to entry before you can actually utilize the course. The owner informed me that the track is open on weekdays for practice runs, and that they do races on fridays. Not ever mentioning that there is a fee, or that they require an audit of the machine before operating it on their track. So I thought cool, seems like a chill place where people can leisurely go and have fun with their toys, and maybe the community is pretty welcoming to new hobbyists. Well, I was apprently very wrong about that. After maybe 10 minutes of racing my little toy car around their track, I decided to go check out the shop to see if there would possibly be an option for a car that would perform better on their track instead of my "cheap little amazon" car. So I go up to whom I presume to be the owner to ask him if he would possibly have any recommendations. Mind you he paid no attention to me up until this moment because he was talking to an employee/customer for quite some time. I was then quickly shamed because apparently I did not understand the rules, one of them being that the tires on my rc car have tread on them and will "fuck up the track". Shortly after I was also scolded for apparently not paying the $15 track fee, when there is literally no indication that there is any barrier to entry or that you have to pay before using the track. I would have gladly paid the fee and followed the rules if the owner actually treated me like a customer, rather than some guy coming in to purposely mess up their race track. I then explained to him that I did not hear about any fee when I talked to him on the phone, and that there are no signs located anywhere in the store stating the rules. He then responded with, "when the fuck is anything free in the past 100 years". Which I totally understand, but maybe you should mention that to your customers before they come into the store, or maybe not have the door to the track wide open where anyone should just walk in. I was then told to "get the fuck out of their store and never come back", and as I was walking out this person blatantly yelled at me, "yeah get the fuck out you fucking faggot". So unfortunately my expectations for a welcoming community in a new hobby ruined, all because of one person that should not be running a business if they're going to treat people like that. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS

So, of course anything "new" that opens in that area is a really BIG DEAL, and while my sister was in town we went to check the new Kohl's out. It was your typical Kohl's. Not much else to elaborate on. The aisles were clean and well-organized, but I'm guessing that has more to do with the lack of foot traffic more than anything. When we went, we were literally the only customers in this store, with the cashiers just standing around and gossiping. The worst part of our experience was the teenage cashier. While ringing us up, she started hounding me about the Kohl's charge card, and why it would be a great idea for me to get one. She was doing the familiar old sales pitch you get at every Kohl's. I told her I used to work at Corporate, and I didn't need to get their charge card since I know how that works. Her attitude changed after that - she went from OK to having a surly demeanor. Seriously Kohl's, listen to your customers. Odds are, if they are anything like me, they hate getting a hounding sales pitch - especially at the check out, when all they want to do is get out the door.

The store was clean, and walking in, we saw lots of fridges and freezers at decent prices, in many sizes. They also had a selection of patio heaters, Tommy Bahama drink coolers, tools, outdoor furnishings, and more. Plus lots of Christmas trees! I think this would be a great place to walk through a few times a month to see what's new, and they also have a Facebook page where they post new finds.
