Lifetime Fitness at Lake Zurich has been a fantastic part of my fitness journey…read more Over the last three months, I have lost close to 30 pounds, become much more consistent, and feel stronger, fitter, and more athletic. The facility is excellent -- from the strength training equipment to the cold plunge, steam room, sauna, swimming, and pickleball. It is a place I genuinely look forward to visiting. A special thank you to Daryl, who has been simply fantastic as a coach and trainer. He is knowledgeable, encouraging, and has helped me stay focused and disciplined. I also had the privilege of working with Kevin, who has been excellent with his coaching and support. Both Daryl and Kevin are outstanding. I also want to recognize Emmanuel, who is always supportive, attentive, and takes great care of members. He is a brilliant young man and a real asset to the team. And Kim at the reception is fantastic -- I keep wondering how she has so much energy to greet everyone with such warmth and enthusiasm every day. Beyond the fitness facilities, I also love the overall environment -- the café, the bar, and the positive energy throughout the club. It feels clean, professional, welcoming, and motivating. Kudos to the entire Lifetime Lake Zurich team. You have built a great place with a great culture. I truly appreciate the role you have played in helping me get healthier and stronger. Thank you.

Since that time, here…read moreare some changes I've noticed (prompting my review): * I have lost weight * I have gained muscle * I am leaner * I am stronger * I am faster * I've lost at least one dress size * I eat healthier (because I want to believe it or not - I feel better when I do) * I'm sore a lot of the time (ok, most of the time) * I don't care how stupid I look (trust me I look stupid) -- the results are worth it * I realized how out of shape I truly was * I see how out of shape others are too * I enjoy working out * I no longer feel the need to belong to a health club * I realized there are people around me who inspire me * My soon to be husband has now joined * I LOVE how I feel every single day - I walk taller, I sit straighter, I feel stronger, I feel better than I ever have mentally * I will never quit While I am no stranger to health clubs- from Ballys to Midtown Club and others in between (I once was competitive myself - marathons, tri's, etc.), I fell into work and into a boring day to day grind of boring workouts - I never saw results (which also got to be boring). Walking into CrossFit Lake Zurich was one of the best decisions I have ever made and let me just say that when I did walk in this place, it was just a "box" - some weights, kettlebells, barbells, not a whole lot. So obviously there is a lot to be said about the person behind this place but that is something you cannot figure out unless you give it a chance by walking in and trying it. By next year at this time (my 48th birthday), my goal is to be able to do a pullup - maybe even a few - and not something to be taken lightly. There are true athletes who work out here every single day and then there are people like me. Never rule out anything until you try it - that's all I can say. CrossFit Lake Zurich has changed my life in a very positive way. And to think... it's just a box. ;)

After divorce , I moved to the northburbs with the kids joined Midtown for several months, and ultimately had to move to Wisconisn. In moving I had a lot of trouble exiting the contract, but this was several years ago. When I moved back to Buffalo Grove in 2022 checked out other area fitness clubs, Sky Fitness, LA Fitness, etc... and yes Midtown in Palatine which is a 15 min drive. I was most impressed with Midtown again, the remodel was excellent, the new locker room, new steam room, outdoor pool is huge and amazing, the fitness equipment is new and always available and never overcrowded, the personal trainers are longterm employess of the company, and very professional and experienced as a result, the food in the cafe is affordable and delicious and the gals in the cafe work hard and are good cooks, the new work area with tables with ports for your equipment is set away from the cafe and worlkout area and perfect to work, eat, then head to workout, and it all starts with the entry desk. Nick and the girls upfront are truly amazing, always greeting everyone with a friendly smile upon when entering and exiting the facility, they give you a real sense of belonging..... I'm very happy that I rejoined Midtown, the experience far exceeded my expectations!!!

Unfortunately, our experience has been disappointing, particularly when it comes to customer service. The issues began when my young son was invited by a friend (who is a member) to play basketball. Each visit was a challenge, even when we followed the rules and paid the guest fee. The staff at the front desk was often unfriendly. On one occasion, I was told the person assisting us was new and not yet trained. Things escalated when I received a voicemail informing me that my son could no longer visit because he had exceeded the allowed number of guest passes. I was surprised by this and called in to ask if I could purchase a full-day pass for him to play for just one hour. The front desk staff declined and said I was welcome to explore membership options. She tried transferring me to the membership representative--twice--but no one answered or returned my call.My husband eventually called and was able to speak to the membership person right away. After agreeing to a membership, he told me to go ahead and bring our son in. When we arrived, the same front desk person questioned my young son directly, asking him whether he was allowed in. I was honestly shocked by this level of treatment. While this facility is gorgeous and extremely convenient, the lack of professionalism and the poor customer service left us very disappointed. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously, as it could be a truly great place with the right team and training in place.

If you go to SAA you will accomplish whatever goals you want to achieve regarding your fitness…read more This place has top notch trainers who are well versed in many training techniques and methods with an amazing community of members who motivate each other to achieve their goals. I started at Superior in 2012, the summer before my junior year of high school. I originally wanted to work on my strength and speed as I was working towards furthering my baseball career in high school and college. I saw results after training with Will and Boone for a few months and solidified myself on the varsity baseball roster with the extra power I gained in my arm and my bat. I ended up leading the team in multiple batting categories my junior and senior year and acquired multiple looks from DI and DIII baseball programs. After my senior year, I was accepted to the Coast Guard Academy and earned a spot on their baseball roster while concurrently serving in the military. The strength that I gained from SAA helped me during boot camp and got me through that with ease. Fast forward to 2018, I recently moved back to Chicago and got involved in Olympic Weightlifting. I had a sound basis of the technique that I learned all the way back in 2012 when I first trained at SAA, but I had not trained full time for a while. I wanted to find a program that I could get personal feedback from while having a tailored and individualized workout made for me. I was confident that the coaches could bring me to another level with my lifting abilities. So I decided to take a chance and see what I could learn with the coaches at SAA. I started training with Will and Kurt in August of 2018 and I have seen tremendous gains in my technique, strength, and volume that I can lift. My lifts have gone up various amounts, and I have learned so much about training methods, technique, recovery, and programming with the coaches here. I came in clean and jerking 127kg/279lb, and SAA has helped me get to a 140kg/308lb clean and 151kg/332lb jerk. My squats have increased by 10kg/22lb in the back squat and 15kg/33lb in the front squat. I feel stronger, and I can handle much more volume in training than when I came into SAA in August of 2018. My technique has improved immensely, and I consistently receive feedback on how to lift better. Overall, the community at SAA is hard to beat. Everyone knows each other and motivates one another to reach their goals. The atmosphere is a great place to train and learn in. Everyone is there to help, and the coaches put a lot of time and effort into writing each workout and explaining each part to you. I have felt that if I ever have a problem with any part of the lifts, I can come to any one of the coaches and ask them how to fix it. I am looking forward to the future with SAA, and I am proud to be part of this community.
