Sooo I really want to love this place 1st because they are black owned and 2nd because they are a business that gives back to the community. However, for me first impressions are everything (even with growing pains) and I was not impressed. The restaurant was not presented as clean and the team had some hygienic setbacks (handling food with holes in the glove, touching food and register with same gloves). What I liked about this place is that it was clean and well put together. The place seems visually inviting so I thought it would be good to bring my family in to dine. However, we walked in and immediately heard the inappropriate lyrics playing in the store. I hoped it was just one bad song and proceeded to make an order. Unfortunately, it was not just one song. I love that they have lots of young people working there, all clearly working very hard with positive attitudes, and no one goofing off back there. And the pizza is delicious! So decided to finally try Burnbox after the rave reviews here. Haven't tasted it yet. I did the online feature just to save time and purposely waited 15 minutes after the promised time to pickup . Well was given mis information about where to pickup the online orders. Then waited and kinda had to impolitely ask the status after waiting and waiting and the line cleared of people that had been there when i arrived. They finally started making my pizza after me waiting. I'm not sure who the manager on duty was but not too impressed with the customer service skills except for one who put the finishing touches on it. Pack your patience if you're visiting the Waldorf location, which is also new, might I add. If you have been to a "build your own" pizza place before, you already understand the general concept and experience of Burnbox. They also have a selection of pizza, salads, & other food items that you can order from the menu. We decided to swing by on a Friday night around 8:45p.The service is terribly slow and the workers appear to be all over the place trying to decide who is suppose to do what. The young lady that's putting the sauce & cheese on the pizza moves like a turtle. One plus is that she's heavy handed on the cheese, but baby girl need to speed up the pace. Other than the service being slow (we'll chop that up to being new & everyone is learning) the pizza is actually good. I gave my pizza an 8/10, my husband gave the same after coming home to re-heat his pizza, and my daughter gave a 6/10 and opt for &pizza over Burnbox. Never got to the food, but the service made me walk out before the pies were ready. I ordered two pizzas, one was placed into an empty oven more than 10 minutes after the other, so one was done 5 minutes before other was placed into the oven. After bringing this to their attention, before and after the 2nd pizza went into the still empty oven, no apology, didn't offer to redo the 1st pie...but the they understood why I was upset. This might be long! I am always going to support a black owned business...but I swear it's always something. For starters, we were not greeted or acknowledged when we walked in. I'll come back to this point later. FOOD: We ordered two pizzas; vegan Burnbox added mushrooms and Power up with no cheese no red onions add green peppers. I specifically asked about vegan pepperonis before I placed my order, the young man confirmed they had them, only to get in the middle of building my pizza to tell me they didn't have any. Then the older guy went back and forth with me about the power up pizza not having vegan crumbles on the pizza - he literally came back from behind the register to verify which I was proven correct. The pizzas were bland, dough was not cooked. I asked for LIGHT vegan cheese and they loaded it up. EXPERIENCE: 3 young men making pizzas and they did not seem to follow direction well...probably because they were all watching the football game and discussing that instead of making pizzas. Mistakes could have been avoided if they were more attentive to their job and not distracted by the television. SERVICE: Slow with a lack of accountability and basic customer service/restaurant training. Ie no hair nets, talking over the food, not paying attention, easily distracted. I want to support. I was happy about this place because of the vegan options but my first experience was not pleasing. Not sure if I'll return. The last straw was when we and the folks in front of me were not greeted but when those of another color/race walked in, they were greeted with "Welcome to BurnBox Pizza". So I tried to go to this restaurant 2 days in a row. First night went to order online at 830 from the app it shows it couldn't take online orders as the establishment was closed which I thought strange for a Friday night but oh well. Sat morning still wanting pizza I go to the app at 3 and the app says the same thing which seems strange so I Google the opening and closing times and the store hours shows open so I give the store a call to confirm and to see if I can place an order since I can't do so online. The ronni voice picks up immediately and says you can't place an order over the phone but they will text you so I'm thinking ok that's how you order at least common sense will deduce that...its not how you order there are no instructions, responding back to the text does nothing so we decide to drive over. The store is packed and they are moving like molasses on the inside so no thank you, we decided to go to one of the food trucks in the next shopping center over. Not sure I will ever try to go back as it's very inconvenient to not have an option to order ahead instead of waiting forever for someone to go through the line and make a line full of pizza one by one. read more

The pizza has the potential to be good if the new staff were trained better. Since the location just opened, the long line was to be expected. However, I was rather disappointed in the pizza. We ordered a regular pepperoni pizza, which had way too much cheese, not enough sauce and the pepperoni wasn't appropriately spaced (some slice had 2-3 pepperoni's while others had 6-7). Overall, the predominant taste was cheese and bread. This place is staffed largely by teenagers. Retraining is definitely in order. Poor customer service! I WILL NOT be returning to this location, ever again. I placed an online order on 3/15 at 5:58pm. I waited in the place until 7:10pm to get my order. Myself and the owner had a whole conversation how my order wasn't made yet, due to the rush. I was highly understanding. I was told by the owner (Ryan) to email him to received my refund. First going i had the shrimp and pesto pizza. It was great which made me go back second time. Second time i tried the carb and pesto pizza. It smelled real fishy like! It was a NO for me. The wait time is super long, these young adults were rude as hell, and all over place. I received the text that my pizza was ready. That was not accurate. Young guy caught an attitude because i ask for the pizza since the text said it was ready. However he said it wasn't. After about 20 mins i asked again. I have been interested in Burnbox since I saw it open up here in Waldorf. I like brick oven pizza and wings. I decided to give them a shot. I downloaded the app and put together my order. That's when I saw it. The app required me to give a " service tip" on a pick up order. I have zero problem with giving a tip. I have a big problem with being required to give one, and not being able to adjust the amount depending on my experience. I closed the order, deleted the app, and got a pizza from another local establishment. It's a shame. I was looking forward to trying BurnBox out. read more

Worsttttttttttttt experience ever! I gave this business a try due to a family member's recommendation and couldn't be more disappointed. My total $$ spent did not add up with the quality nor numerous errors with my order. Oh and let's not forget the time spent waiting for 3 out of my 4 items to be corrected. Also, the young staff were unpleasant with facial expressions as if I asked for them to completely butcher my order after a 30 minute online order wait and then an additional 45 minute wait to get the items I actually ordered. Do not go here if you'd like your order to be accurate and align with what you paid for! I never knew making a pizza was so complicated as they made it seem by not being able to follow simple instructions and/or read ingredients to make a pizza order correctly. Two stars because the staff was nice. Don't know what to say, eagerly anticipated a brick oven pizza place in this area, so we go, crust sucked, sauce sucked, cheese sucked. None of it had a good flavor at all, by the time we walked out, GF was clenching her stomach and asking me to drive, halfway home she said please drive like your about to poo your pants, because that's how I feel. While there, got a fountain drink, no carbonation at all, and all the flavors were watered down, even the ice tea and lemonade. Manager tries to tell me "stubborn brand soda is different" yeah but it's still soda, and I've had it before, it tastes like soda. No offer to do a thing about it.
