Key issue: -My child was bit so hard there was a puncture…read morewound and blood drawn and nothing was done about it and then my son was the one kicked out I'm sure this used to be a well run facility based on the reviews from 5 years ago, but sadly it seems the quality has declined. The first big issue is the apparent inability to keep teachers. In the last 7 months, my son has had 7 teachers for the same age group (2-3) and multiple floaters. 4 of those teachers quit because the conditions and lack of staff support were so bad they couldn't deal anymore (I was told this directly by the ex-teachers) The second big issue (the biggest if you ask me) is the violence of the children that attend the center and the lack of discipline. My son has been bitten multiple times while he's attended there. Each time it occurred and I was made aware, I asked what steps would be taken to make sure it doesn't keep happening and I get told, with loads of attitude, that kids bite and it's an unfortunate thing that happens. In an effort to keep this already long review from turning into a novel, I will specify the most recent occurrence in where my son was bit on his back by another child so hard that it broke skin and bled and then MY son was the one who was told he was no longer welcome at this center (don't worry, we weren't planning to return anyway). I wasn't informed of the bite until I arrived at the school, and learned that an incident report hadn't been filled out yet. The teacher had plenty to say to me about how awful the situation was and how bad she felt and that the same child who bit has been violent recently with kicking and hitting and pinching (though of course management told me that I forced the teacher to say these things because I flustered her so bad when she was telling me how my son got bit. Makes sense right?) I go find the manager and express my frustration at the situation and ask that the owner/director and the other child's parent be contacted about it (because the other child had left and his parents weren't informed at the time of pickup). The manager told me to wait in the office and she would be in there in a minute to call. Multiple minutes go by and the manager never came into the office so I go to find the manager and find her yelling at the teacher for giving me information. I then ask if she was able to contact the owner/director and she said no they left for the day and then I asked if she was able to contact the parent and she said no, I can't force people to answer their phones. I requested a copy of the incident report and was told no, I was not able to have one. I admit, I was definitely upset with the situation. My reaction was completely appropriate considering my son had a puncture wound from another child's teeth. Which brings me to the fun part. I received a call from the director the next morning and was told she was calling me because of the scene I caused the night before. Apparently the manager told her I was screaming and yelling and causing a scene. Now if you've met me, you'll know I am extremely loud at all times unintentionally. I happen to be one of those annoying people that talks loudly and doesn't seem to understand volume control even in the serenest of situations. Having a loud voice does not equal yelling, except in the case when a manager is lying to make herself look better in a situation she escalated due to her extreme rudeness. The director also said the manager claimed I was demanding phone numbers for the owner/director and demanding that the parent be called back up to the school. Both claims I vehemently denied because they absolutely did not happen. (Which can be corroborated by the multiple employees who heard the whole conversation and one of whom came up to me after and said they would be just as upset if it happened to their child and nothing was done about it). Of course the director likely didnt believe me over her manager because I'm the person causing problems and I had already been informed previously by an ex-employee that management did not like me because I "caused issues" by advocating for my sons safety. I was then told my son wasn't welcomed back and we needed to part ways. Of course after all of this occurred, I had multiple people come out of the woodwork with similar horror stories of the way they and their children were treated by this center and I only wish I had been thoroughly warned before trusting this place with my child. If you've had a pleasant experience with this facility, I am thrilled that happened for you and I hope nothing happens otherwise. It's a horrible feeling to be belittled and made out to be a liar when you are just trying to do what is best for your child at a place where you pay them to care for your children. The school worked diligently with me to get both of my kids in quicker than what I anticipated they would be able to. Biting and bullying are things that are just absolutely going to happen at any daycare or preschool. However, I can say that anytime there has been an issue with another kid bullying them or picking on them, I have felt completely comfortable speaking to the staff about it and my concerns have been addressed. On the other side of that coin, whenever the staff have experienced issues with my children miss behaving or acting inappropriately, they talk to me about it and notify me of the behavior so that I can do my job as a parent to address the problem. My boys love going to school at happy trails and are very happy with their teacher as well as the administrators. I would definitely recommend happy trails!

Our daughter attended this daycare for only two days, and what happened during that short time left…read moreus shocked, angry, and heartbroken. On her very first day, she came home with wet underwear. We tried to give the benefit of the doubt and assumed it might have been an adjustment issue since she was new. But on her second day, she came home soiled with both urine and feces, and when we cleaned her up, we discovered that her skin was raw, red, and broken -- front, back, and between her private parts. This was a severe rash, the kind that happens only when a child has been left sitting in wet or dirty clothing for a long period of time. No child develops skin that damaged from a single brief accident or if they had been properly checked and cleaned. We immediately emailed the center director on Friday evening to report this serious issue, but no one ever responded. The center was closed Monday and Tuesday, but on Tuesday morning my husband went in person to speak with the director. She admitted she hadn't even checked her emails yet. He explained everything and asked for a refund, as we could not possibly send our child back after what happened. She said she would speak with corporate and call us back. Later that day, we received a call from a corporate representative in California. She completely dodged the issue and refused to acknowledge what happened. She kept repeating the same line -- that our child was "checked throughout the day." I calmly told her that if our child was checked and cared for properly, there's no way she would come home with her skin raw and damaged like that. Instead of addressing that point, she just kept repeating the same scripted response and acted as if the rash didn't exist. When I asked for escalation, she refused, claiming there was no one above her to speak with. She also said their "policy" required a 30-day withdrawal notice -- meaning we would not get a refund -- completely ignoring that we were withdrawing because of neglect and harm to our child. When I tried again to explain how serious this was, she became defensive and hung up on me. We trusted this center with our child's safety, hygiene, and care. They failed completely. Then, instead of showing concern or accountability, they deflected, denied, and dismissed what happened. Our daughter came home hurt and in pain -- and all we got from corporate was denial and a refusal to even acknowledge reality. If you are a parent considering this daycare, please think carefully. The lack of care, communication, and accountability we experienced is unacceptable. A daycare should be a safe, nurturing place -- not somewhere a child ends up in pain and parents are gaslighted when they speak up.

My fellow Yelpers…read more About 2 weeks ago now my wife handed her cell phone to the teacher as I was at work and wanted to tell the new teacher " I appreciate your work and attitude you are giving us" as this is my sons 4th new teacher in 8 months. Apparently that is against the rules and the owner let us know we put the staff in danger. Crazy right? My 2 year Old son was a bit for the 4th time. Yes 4. 1st time - I get it. Kids will be kids. 2nd time - make sense please don't let it happen again. 3rd time - ok let's have a quick in person meeting with the GM. Which we did just to see if there is a way we could help out. 4th time - I wrote an email saying " franchise owner - while giving my son a bath tonight I realize he had a bite mark on him. I don't see a report. " Leena the franchise owner responded with " oh no let's have a meeting. And so we are clear we DO NOT have to give you a report for 48 hours as it didn't break the skin". (not being a human being or mom and saying hey kid was bit all good I'll Get your a report. They just avoided it. That's not loving or mother like if you ask me. But to each their own) Me - " I have already met with your GM so I am not sure what another conversation is going to do but nonetheless let's do a phone call." Leena - " I can't let me know when a good time to talk is" Me - " anytime after 515pm works for me and my fiancé" Leena - then calls me at 11am and 3:45pm the next day. Leena - " hey I have been trying to reach you guys. If this is not an issue please just let me know and I'll stop calling." Me - leena you called before 5:15 we can't answer as we are working" Fiancé - " leena I will be there today at 5:30 to pick the boys up let's chat". Leena - " it's seems we have lost your trust. And we are now canceling your enrollment." - then proceeds to bring up handing the phone off is a violation as she had no other ground to stand on. She used the week and a half old excuse of my fiancé handing the phone to the teacher as a protocol violation...lol stop it. She then tries to explain that's it's for the love of the kids. Riiiiight Taking your frustrations with us out on the kids really exemplifies love. Up rooting friends and memories the built of the last two years is love? All a dad was doing is making his kids re safe and not bitten for a 5th time. So that brings me to this review. This all happened Friday. The weekend of Presidents' Day. So guess what schools are closed Monday how do we coordinate with work and get us a new school in time? Super inconvenient and very impulsive on her part. Should have said we will give you a week at the minimal. You know act like a parent/human being. Now for the honest review: My kids went here for just under two years. we were the 5th kid enrolled here so I have room to talk. They Simply can't handle the growth of the Leander. - Understaffed. - Now extremely Over priced for being so tiny in comparison to others. - waiting lines to drop off are INSANE. Especially on cold days. - Small play ground. like tiny and it ruins the kids shoes as they turn dark black. It's cheaply made but at the time we signed up there we only 10 kids and now at 75+ - dirty facility (ie: a yogurt was on the spilt on the ground when we dropped our boys off. We came back 8 hours later and it was still there just now full of ants) - Constantly closing down with minimal lead time for the parents. Never know what to expect really. Not to mention now all the new teachers have their kids go here and have "different rules" if you will. This wasn't a thing before. You will notice the kids behind the front desk right when you walk in. There is a tiny cubby behind the front desk to the right side just look in there and you will see what I am talking about. Their head teacher Ms. Elizabeth was "promoted" about 8 months ago and the place went to downhill from there. They hired ms Normandy who is under qualified and under staffed. From the missed emails, giving my child face rub with no Medical papers signed. Giving my child milk after saying he can't have milk etc. The owner leena or the GM normandy will comment something witty like "we are doing our best to accommodate" and then never proceed to change anything.. they are trained by the franchise to use catchy phrases like " we care" or " align our souls" " we Strive to be the best" but let me tell you from a person who has been paying 2600 a month for convenience ( literally next to my house) that It's all smoke and mirrors. It's turned into a franchise only trying to gain as much ROI as possible. which I totally get but it devalues the love and care that they preach but don't practice. But man I do have to say this was a blessing in disguise we got our kids set up at new school. GM has a PhD, met the owner IN PERSON first day and they gave us all their personal contact info incase we feel like we need to talk.
