First time trying Hot Pot & KBBQ. The good: Hotpot, really liked that they offer 6 different broth options, with the main base being pork broth. I opted for Tom Yum, and my SO got the Pork broth. The open salad/meats/sides was great I liked being able to get as little or much as I wanted to try and eat. Plenty of meat to go in the Hot pot and in the BBQ grill. On the grill they place a circular "parchment?" paper to help your meat from burning/cooking too quickly. I appreciated their generous sauce/dip bar to allow you to put a variety of herbs/aromatics, and nice pickled veggies to eat with BBQ/hotpot The not so good: The KBBQ was not where I would have hoped, the bulgogi, wasn't really the marinade I look for in Korean style bulgogi, I had more hopes for Korean BBQ if you are going to call it Korean. The salmon was an interesting choice, but pro tip do not grill until you're done grilling all other protein as it leaves a very distinct fish flavor to the grill on any other veggies/protein you cook after. This is just a personal preference thing, but the clouds on the ceiling changing lights every few seconds was a little distracting/annoying. I could deal with either just dim lights/brighter steady lights... Overall for $38/head it's not bad, won't be frequenting too often, but we left really full, and had a good experience. read more

This was a fun dining experience! Inside is decorated beautifully with vibrant colors. It was a bit of a wait to sit but it wasn't bad at all. Our server was not super attentive and others wouldn't stop since it wasn't their table. We did get help from the hostess who was very pleasant. Now for the food, there are a plethora of options to choose from to do hotpot or bbq. The beef , shrimp and squid was amazing !!! Endless seafood, options, snow crab, blue crab, lobster, muscles, clams, shrimp, different varieties of fish and more. We really appreciate it. this experience however, I did wish that the broth was a little more flavorful, I also love how you pay for one drink but you have an option to drink unless authentic Asian and American drinks from the cooler. The selection of food is INCREDIBLE. I've lived in Korea before and this restaurant is better than a lot of places I've been to. It's clean. There are many traditional options. The kimchi is on point. This has to be the best bbq/hot pot meal I've had in Columbia and San Antonio. The traditional soup base was creamy and just right. The ribeye cuts and bulgogi were perfect and marbled. This was so worth it. Just a note, the hot pots are single servings! First let me say that this review may be a little biased because I LOVE Korean food but I'll try my best to give y'all what you need lol. First, for anyone wanting to plan ahead, they don't take rsvp unless you have a party of 5 or more. Which is not hard to do on their website which I liked. We pulled up the the restaurant, it is hard to miss! They have great neon signs, the big logo on the outside and it sits on the corner in a plaza. Wgot inside and we were greeted very warmly by the hostess staff. I happened to see that the restaurant was very big, so it is more than enough space to accommodate large parties as well as anyone else looking to dine in. We were immediately sat at our table and our waiter came to explain to us how the hot pot and barbecue works, which was really nice. He also gave some recommendations for first timers, and he also gave some insight on some of their popular dishes. The options of the food are set up Buffet style, so you have the choice to choose from doing either the hot pot or the barbecue or both; so they're not charging you for the whole experience, just what you choose to partake in. The Buffet area with the food options was really clean. They separated the meat from the seafood from the poultry, which was really nice, and they had a lot of options for meats and sides, and they also had a sauce and dipping Buffet on the side with at least five recommendations for mixes that you can choose from or creating your own, which I really really liked. Me and my husband did the spicy garlic and we really ended up liking that one. We also ordered some soju; which is alcoholic beverage with fruit flavor. So we got the peach because that one came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. I finished a whole bottle by myself and my husband bought three more bottles to go lol. The actual cooking of the food in the barbecue pit is not complicated. It's very simple they explain it very well so you don't have to worry about burning yourself or being overwhelmed with smoke and they're really good at the system that they have in place. Our bill was not overly expensive at all being that we only did the barbecue and the alcoholic beverages; so in my opinion, I thought for the experience and what they offer for the meat selections and the buffet, it was very affordable. Me and my husband will definitely be back and I'm so excited that they now have another location opening up in Sandhills which is much closer to our home. If you're looking to try great Korean food and would love to do barbecue or hot pot, I would definitely recommend this place for a starter. It was really good. We had a great experience. With all these 5 star reviews I had the highest of hopes, but Burnin99 fell a bit flat. I love the all-you-can-drink cooler, it is absolutely worth the money! But that's about where the things I love ends. Service is weird...first time going to Burnin, we got our food and put the plates on our table and went to grab drinks and hit the sauce bar. Our waitress came over while we were away and started putting our food on the grill and in our soups. We like to do our hotpot and KBBQ in a system (veggies and frozen items first, meat second, seafood last) so we weren't thrilled that she just took the initiative of starting to cook our food without asking or even letting us know. Second time we went, we never left food alone at the table to ensure it didn't happen to us again, but we did see it happen to at least two other tables and they were equally unimpressed by this "service." Both times at Burnin, the wait staff has seemed entirely too focused on watching their tables like hawks...it's a little off putting because you can literally feel your waiter staring at you, and when it's completely dead inside with few other tables, it's even more awkward. First trip, our waitress was at our table asking us if we were okay or if we needed anything literally every 3-5 minutes, to the point it was difficult for us to have a conversation. It was way too much. She told us we could take one drink from the cooler to-go if we got the all you can drink option...we found out on our next trip that is not the case. We got yelled at and it was uncomfortable since we were absolutely told we could take ONE...but whatever. Just be aware that if you're told that, you're being given incorrect information. When our waitress rang us up, she stared at the screen while we selected tip options...again, super strange and off putting. Second trip, our waiter stared at us the entire time we were there but only came to the table two or three times total and was less overbearing when it came to closing us out, but he definitely didn't even try to give any illusion of "privacy" while selecting the tip. Now on to the food...hotpot meat is kept in massive bins in a cooler. It is messy, gross looking, and people are using their hands to use the tongs to grab meat and then just throwing the tongs back into the meat container, often times on to the meat and not off to the side. It grossed me out beyond reason, so I mostly stick with veggies. Hotpot meats are 1 cut of lamb, 1 cut of super fatty beef, and 1 cut of super fatty pork...that's it. Seafood and frozen selection is great, and the veggie selection is very good, too. But they lose a lot of points for me by not having many options for hotpot meats, and for the way that they keep them...it just grosses me out. Soup broths are all okay, but they lack depth of flavor compared to other hotpot spots. The pork bone broth was wimpy and disappointing entirely. The dessert options and fruits are sparse and unimpressive. Very obviously not made in house. Buffet style is cool, but I dont think it offers any enhanced experience. It would be cool if you I can basically do without KBBQ for the most part, but sometimes I like it to add a little diversity to my meal, but it's just not worth it at Burnin. Wait staff constantly comes over to turn down the grill while you're actively using it and they try to tell you your food is done cooking...they'll say this literally seconds after you put meat on the grill. They'll also invade your personal space in a big way by reaching in front of your belly to turn down your hotpot. Personal space does not seem to exist at this restaurant. All in all: I'll stick to KPOT. The presentation, service, and meat offerings are much better. read more

We attempted to get his attention multiple times the whole night and nothing. He held his finger up once to say just a minute and never came by. We asked other servers for help and they said he'd be with us soon, but nothing. We never got more drinks, we never got rice, we never had him replace the grill paper that was burning smoke all over us. The food was decent. I've had Korean BBQ many times from different places and this is at the bottom. It's one of our favorite foods and we are rarely disappointed in flavors. In general all the meats were a step lower in quality and more fatty than other places. I like the ease of grabbing your own meat to get as little or much as you want and try many different things. So we were excited to try this, but everything fell short The final straw - when we were done - full but thirsty - we couldn't get anyone to bring us a bill or let us pay. The service, specifically our host for the night Phillip, was awesome. Phillip made my girlfriend and I feel very welcome and was very helpful in getting us set up to do both hotpot and bbq and answered any questions the two of us had. He was very attentive to the two of us, but never to the point of being overbearing.
