We this is my favorite gem of a restaurant/bakery here in the town of Silt, Co. it's got everything you need small town country vibe with delicious bakery items, to delicious pizza and sandwich items and great wings to. This is a really great place to eat. I've had a number of their menu items besides their pizzas, they are always top-quality. The desserts are incredible as you are able to see all of them as you walk in the door. The ambience with two separate dining rooms along with a bar atmosphere on one side with big screens... The waitress set aside the ones we wanted until we checked out because they were running low. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. The establishment was very clean. This place is a keeper! We were passing through headed back to Florida when we decided to stay the night in Silt, CO. After looking through the selection of restaurants we decided to try Burning Mountain. Wow, good choice as it turns out. Probably the best pizza I've had in years. They make everything fresh each day including the dough and sauce. I had the Honey Badger individual size and enjoyed every bite. We finished with a coconut cream pie slice, amazing flaky crust and not too sweet. I only wish they were in Florida. I left without my hat, when I realized it I returned to recover it. This place is not on the beaten path. We found it when searching for a place to eat on our trip from Glenwood Springs to Rifle. It took a bit to get waited on as the staff seemed to be interacting with the regulars there. We had pizza and salad. The salad was very fresh and loaded with goodies. The pizza was topped well and the red sauce was well seasoned. They had a pastry case that had lots of options like cookies, lemon cheesecake, Raspberry brownies and peanut butter fudge pie. There was a fair amount of meat but the dressing was minimal. On the plus side it was a good sized sandwich. We also ordered a cheese pizza which looked good but was not very tasty. It certainly had a decent amount of cheese and I had a couple of slices but the flavor was just not that exciting. It was palatable but seemed flat to me. I'd rate this place as acceptable and with the drive through it is a place to consider when going for take out. Being a local, I love the idea of having a small joint to have drinks, apps and desserts nearby. I honestly like this place but over the past couple of years, the food has gone WAY up and the service has been just terrible. The owners have been nice and friendly over the years but FOH has be dismal to say the least. The past few visits have been pretty bad but the last one did it for us. We sat with 6 people waiting to be acknowledged and for 10 minutes, the server just walked passed us. She did finally say "I'll be right with you" and then walked to another table who walked in 5 minutes after us and took their order. As we walked out, the server was snotty and said "Bye" with a major attitude. Maybe we will go back but only after they get better help. read more

Update to past review. What happened to Burning Mountain? They used to be a 4-1/2 to 5. Now it doesn't seem like the same place. My husband brought home 2 XL pizzas for Avs game for us, my daughter & son-in-law. We were all sooo disappointed! Two pizzas (at $33 each) that we would've been better off buying from Costco. Usually I am filled up with 1-2 pieces. The margarita pizza was see-through! Both crusts were thin & not what we are used to from BMP&S. I was glad I made an excellent salad to accompany & we had desserts, which they still make well. read more

Both owners as well as whichever ones daughter working here are absolutely obnoxious. It started out as an OK place to eat, then steadily it went downhill from there. It takes forever to get any sort of service from thier staff, the pizza and pastries are incredibly overpriced, and the owners and thier daughter(s) are some of the most rude and demeaning people we've ever met. It's common to talk with other locals and hear the exact same sentiment regarding Burning MTN Pizza, so we all go to Brickhouse or Hogback Pizza instead where they're much more attentive, the pizza is 10x better, and service is always friendly. If I'm going on a road trip and I-70 is the slightly longer route, I will still take it because that means I'll get to stop and eat here. Every time I come in, the pastry case is filled with decedent desserts that will tempt even the most stringent health nut. The only negative I can say is their cinnamon rolls have ruined most cinnamon rolls for me because I always compare them to Burning Mountain's cinnamon rolls and every where else's always fall short. The pizza is delicious and their breakfast sandwiches melt in your mouth. The atmosphere is friendly and sitting at the bar and enjoying a drink, you can experience all the hospitality and community of a small town. I always recommend Burning Mountain as a stop when road tripping on I-70. So far no one I've recommended this gem to has been disappointed. read more

Great restaurant! I've been told many times to go try this place. I finally got there with my husband. It was so tasty and the service was top notch. Our server was very courteous. It's your neighborhood local pizza joint with extras. We got the spinach artichoke dip and the hot honey pizza. The dip was yummy, the pizza was memorable (sauce was tasty, and the crust was fluffy, and the beer selection (especially during happy hour) were great. We'll be back. I stayed night at a motel in this small town of Silt on the way to Denver CO in August, 2019. The lady at the front desk told me this place, and I found the Arugura pizza my favorite!!! I will come back there for the pizza next time I go there, for sure. read more

I grew up in New York, as did my husband, and we both agreed that this pizza is one of the best we have had in the 6 years we have lived in Colorado, and the best we have had on the Western Slope. I try so hard with this place but the service always proves to just be just silly. This particular experience I started calling them at 715 on a Thursday evening to hopefully get dinner on the way home from Rifle. The auto attendant was 'not taking orders'. When I bypassed it to hopefully get someone, no one answered. I tried three times on our way there. No out going message or anything. We still drove by and saw the open sign and started looking forward to our order. Place was fairly busy and no one came up to us. I grabbed a menu and then a young lady came up and looked at me like I had three heads. Once she learned I did not have a call in already, she said we are closed. It was 7:55. I tried to get service for over 45 minutes. We LOVE pizza and the likes and spend a lot of $ monthly on it and it is just so bizarre to me how hard it is with this place. The prices for what you get kind of make me twitch but I was always willing to if it was good. I don't think I will be able to talk m y husband into going back for yet another try. read more
