Just finished a large beef and chicken burrito. It was awesome. Tastey, filing and inexpensive. My girlfriend had three pork soft tacos and she is addicted. She would normally choose the fish but the pork here was so good she will never go back to fish. If you like it hot ask for hot sauce. I'll start with saying I love Mexican food and to know that I have a place like this on my doorstep is reason enough to be happy! The service is friendly and pretty quick. I've tried the pork, chicken and steak burritos here and all tasted great, really hitting the spot, especially for late night eats. One thing I didn't particularly care for were the tacos, being kind of small and lacking in content, especially compared to how big and delicious the burritos are. Their burittos are juicy but the best thing to get on the menu is without a doubt their supreme fries, it's a great filler while waiting for the bus if you just happen to be really hankering for something to eat. Also, get a bottle of Jarritos soda to wash it down. The only problem is they don't have the Jarritos Mexican Cola flavour drink, but other than that the food is very decent for the price and the staff are quite friendly and will often sometimes have a little joke with you. read more

Ordered delivery from them literally last night around 8pm (I live no further than 10 mins away) and it arrived promptly and food was decent for Mexican food in the area... Everything else is laughable Didn't really get an opportunity to enjoy the meal as I was feeling rather sick when it arrived so I tried ordering again today around 2pm. I live directly north of them on Yonge st just north of steeles and even after a tip that left the driver baffled enough to come back to my door and make sure I hadn't overpaid, he decided today was too far of a drive to make for my $50+ order NEVER, and I repeat, NEVER will they be receiving my business again. Been here three times, first time i got charged extra for stuff i didn't even approve. They'll ask if you want guac or extra cheese, i say sure they put it on and then after i find out i get charged rediculus amount for not being told so. In their mind it just be OBVIOUS that of course you have to pay extra but so many other burito places on yonge do these things for free. Do NOT go here. Staff is awful and cold. Scamartists. Second time i ordered delivery, i got a soggy watery mess that fell apart into goo as i opened it. The most disgusting atrocity of a meal ive ever seen, i threw it in the garbage. I loved the place. It's not very big, but it's not ridiculously pricy either. It's great for quick dining, nothing too fancy. It's pretty clean, and does have a city feel. It's great that theyre open quite late, great hours and hard working people. You can even customize your dishes there if you go when its not deathly busy. The burrito was slightly better than Barburito down the street, but definitely bigger, and definitely much better then Burrito boyz (which has really high review for some reason but was the worse burrito I ever had). There was enough plastic in my 3 beef tacos to wrap around a coke can twice. Went back and got a refund, but the owner insisted that it was a reasonable mistake when making tacos. He claimed it was from their cheese bag, but everyone knows it pretty easy to open a plastic bag without dozens of scraps falling in. I'm currently digesting some plastic so I just wanted to warn you! Avoid it at all costs. read more

I was not impressed by the burritos here. I ordered the chicken burrito and my boyfriend had the shrimp burrito. His shrimps were microwaved. That should have been a sign to gtfo! We already paid and did not want to be rude as I was given high praises about the place. After opening up the burritos they did not taste good. Nothing was fresh, you can see the nasty lettuce that's withering and brown. The sauce wasn't good and the avocado/guacamole was old and bland. I would not come back here. read more

My personal favourite Mexican food in the city so far - the price is right, the food is always fresh and delicious and in decent portions (except the tacos, but they're tasty nonetheless) and the staff are usually quite nice. One guy is a bit standoffish but I think that's because he's European or something, the owner (at least I think he's the owner) is always super sweet. Ive been here twice, the first time it was ok, the owner is nice but the last time I was there I got sick after eating the veg beans n cheese burrito. It's fresh and hot, they are trying to get it right with service, but the food tastes nothing like Mexican, and it's run by Persians, so ok, maybe stop using BBQ sauce from the grocery store on your burritos and try using real Mexican flavours, you're sure to boost your prices, but also get return clients. I live right around the corner so I've eaten here a few times (I just ordered it for pick-up as I type this!). I always get the same thing so I can't speak to anything else on the menu but I always get a small bean and cheese with pinto beans on white with a large supreme fries. Someone else wrote that no one makes them as good as the owner does and that is true. He will really stuff the burrito while other employees don't fill it up as much. I'm not greedy though and what I do get is still always enough. I always get mine spicy which is always hit and miss - sometimes it's spicy as hell and sometimes it's not spicy at all. The supreme fries with beef are delicious but same thing - if the boss doesn't make 'em, it's not as full. I always get consistently good food and service so I have no complaints. read more

The worst think about this place, which I have been there several times since the opening, is that it doesn't have air conditioner!!!! Imagine waiting for your burrito while you are roasting! It was the worst thing that had happened to me! I was sweating in my work clothes and I was angry. All the workers in the restaurant were hot and sweaty too and the other fact is that summer has just started and its going to get warmer! I ordered a beef taco and their nacho fries. The service is great, fast food and clean conditions. The food is also great, the meat is very flavorful - but it does taste Persian! Not so much Mexican.. still tasty. The fries were good as well. No complaints, I will return. read more

Food is great and at the right price. I eat there about 1-2 times a week and enjoy the burrito. My issue is with the man behind the counter who wears so much cologne that the place reeks of it. This is a foul excuse for a restaurant. I ate this burrito an hour ago and I am experiencing shooting pains in my stomach. The establishment is abhorrent, you could probably find a better functioning quick service burrito restaurant in the middle of Alaska. In fact, I wouldn't even call this place "quick service". I waited for 20 minutes for this lousy burrito and nobody even asked me if I needed anything while I waited. It feels as though there is something alive in my stomach as a result of this burrito. The chicken must have been under cooked, because I feel the salmonella poisoning beginning a blitzkrieg through my bowels as we type. After I am done with this message I will be calling the EPA and the FDA to immediately close this business down. I will not be dining at "Burrito Place" ever again. I have to say that I was excited to see a taco/burrito joint in the Yonge and finch neighbourhood. It looked clean when you walk in and they were very eager to greet you at the cashier. I asked if asked if they had corn tortillas and they said only corn for the hardshell but not for the softshell that should've been my first indication that I should've walked out. The fish was like it came from a can. Not fried, it was fishy, which anyone who knows about fresh fish, it shouldn't smell like fish. Tons of lettuce, 3 pieces of tomato, a drive by sprinkle of cheese and nothing else. Biggest taco disappointment to date. I always say, if you do something, do it well. I would've been embarrassed to call that place my own. It's a shame, because its so easy to make a simple thing like a taco taste good. There's a walkable burrito boyz down the street on Yonge. This place is decent but expensive for the little amount of meat they give (I had the steak burrito). Came here three times because BB is in construction phase. The food is of consistent quality. Be prepared to wait 15-20 minutes for the burrito to cook. read more

I've been there twice now and each time I've ordered the chicken burrito bowl to go. The food itself is tasty and the portion sizes have been good - I'm stuffed by time I'm done. Pricing is a little inconsistent. The first time I went I ordered a small and then when I showed up, I was told there is no small size for a buritto bowl, only large. The second time I went, I was charged extra for guacamole (whereas it came with the dish the first time). In both cases however, I brought up my confusion over the price with the guy in charge and it was resolved no problem. I decided to go ahead and read the reviews before going ahead to write mine. I don't think this joint deserves any stars, I'll see if I can get away with posting the review without any stars first, otherwise I will be forced to add one star. I couldn't agree more with Terry H. and JD's posting. I will add slightly to what they wrote. On my first visit, I had the large chicken and beef burrito recommended by them. I always ask for "the specialty." Not much other flavour than beans and I didn't find it cheap. As a flight attendant, I have savoured some serious Mexican cuisine, one of which is in Edmonton and has awesome fish tacos, as faithful to Mexican cuisine as can be. For $9 including tax, beans and packaged soft tortillo didn't leave a great impression. However, craving fish tacos, I decided to give it a try: Seriously little amount of fish on the tacos, with aweful toppings. a) there is no cheese on Mexican tacos, they add flavour by means of spice and lime and cilantro, none of which were on my fish tacos(I felt like I was eating tacos we made back in pre-school in daycare) b) When I politely asked the owner in shock by the amount of fish on the tacos, he rebuked and argued with me how for $6.20 for 2 fish tacos, the amount of fish suffice all the while rude and forgetting about what it means to deliver satisfactory customer service. The cashier and cook were not coordinated; I asked for no cheese, received my pathetic 2 fish tacos and told him I asked for no cheese. He threw in my face that he did me a favour by taking the fish tacos back to make them without cheese. c) There was a long line of people waiting in line for food, one person at the cashier and two people behind the scenes. It's not fair to the employees during such a busy rush and you can tell at this point it's more about the money making and less about quality and customer satisfaction. Overall, it's really sad to see that amount of people lining up for less than mediocre food, and these people getting business, that any other business on Yonge and Finch, Korean and otherwise should be getting instead. It's unfortunate, people afraid of the unknown gravitating towards what is familiar for disgusting business principles. All the best with your endeavours for delicious lunch time or dinner meals. Please, if you can avoid it, go somewhere else. Maybe it will inspire them to get their act together, hire more employees instead of money crunching, and putting more money into the quantity/quality of their food along with a better attitude, appreciating business.
