The place is quaint, yet kind of hip. It has a coffee shop vibe and serves the best pinto beans in existence. The breakfast burrito was delicious; probably the second best I've ever had. Both the house made chorizo and the jalapeno smoked pork were delicious on the burrito, but the star of the show was my side of pinto beans. They were smoky with a little spice. Their flavor was complex and I couldn't figure out what magical spices were combined to yield this epic cup of beans. I would eat these daily if I lived in Amarillo. read more

Quick stop in a combo coffee shop and burrito joint before a meeting. Not enough time to order and therefore comment on a latte, but I enthusiastically recommend the loaded breakfast burrito. I ordered mine with chorizo and sans salsa (prefer adding my own). The chorizo burrito was extremely good. The tortilla was perfectly prepared with flat top marks giving the perfect amount of texture and crunch. But I will most remember the flavor: I think my mouth still yearns for another bite. Chorizo is always a goto flavor enhancer. But there was something more here. Not hot or spicy but favorable. I wish time would have allowed me to eat onsite instead of the road or I would have asked their secrets to improve my own rendition of breakfast tacos. As for service, the lady taking orders had a perpetual smile. I added if there were pre made burritos because I was late. She quickly assured me they could prepare the burrito quickly and put the order in first so it came out at the time I doctored my coffee. Kudos all they around this morning. read more

These bozos couldn't set up their own doordash menu right. What happened was I placed an order this morning for a burrito for my self and my wife to surprise her with breakfast before she woke up. And because they don't charge for extra meat as I was ordering I ordered myself a beef steak, sausage, and Jose's brisket burrito I thought wow they got a good deal here. All this for $6 plus an iced coffee for $2.50. Then I get a call from doordash these dudes wanted to charge me extra or remove the sausage after I already paid and they accepted the order. If they're having an issue with their own pricing, shouldn't they fix it before I even place an order instead of calling me later after my doordasher already got to the restaurant to pick up my order and costing him gas money? I told these dudes I wasn't gonna pay an extra dime nor remove the sausage, if they're gonna be that messed up to the customer when it isn't even my fault I say screw it I'll take my business elsewhere and you can keep your filthy meats to yourself. Fix your own damn issues before accepting paying customers. read more

Scared us at first because there were no cars outside. Found out quickly that all the regulars get theirs to go. Had 3 breakfast tacos and a burrito so that I could try everything and it was all the best. Jalapeño pork, brisket, and chorizo was homemade and the brisket & pork had great flavor. The tortillas and pastries were homemade which makes everything THAT much better. Going back next time I'm rolling through Amarillo for sure. read more

I have been eating at Burrito Stop a couple of times a week for over two years. The food is always fresh, the staff is friendly, and the prices are reasonable. I always get the asada street tacos and a basket of chips. The chips are really the best I have ever had. They always taste like they were made just minutes before they were brought to me. Another thing I like is that they always have the day's Amarillo Globe News for you to read. Forget Chipotle, Burrito Stop all the way for me. read more

Got a grande headbanger this morning. Supposed to be 3 shots of espresso in coffee of the day. Ordered with cream. Basically was lukewarm milk. Could not taste coffee at all. Walked in for brunch and was handed a menu by, at best, an extremely disinterested employee. We flipped the menu over and were very rudely & sharply told that they're only serving the one side of the menu. Not a word had yet left our mouths besides greeting her with "good morning" which was apparently not acknowledged or she didn't care. I guess she's trying out for a new Burrito Nazi episode of Seinfeld. The food may be great, but with that attitude, I'll never know. Maybe she was having a bad day, but her co-worker standing nearby could've come in and rescued this painful exchange. She didn't, so we walked out. On the bright side, we drove around downtown & ended up trying Scratch Made Bakery for breakfast and it was delicious! Go there instead of rolling the dice on crappy service at this place. Employees at Scratch Made Bakery actually seem to enjoy their jobs. On top of all that, the mimosas were free during brunch. read more

Just one block east of the beautiful refurbished Santa Fe building is this lovely local cafe and Mexican food shop. The interior was clean, the staff was helpful and friendly, and my brisket burrito was tasty. The reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that the parking is inconvenient (parallel on a busy downtown street) and the price ($4 for a burrito) is easy to beat in Amarillo. However, if you work in downtown and don't mind paying a little extra, this place isn't bad. read more

Excellent breakfast burrito. I am traveling from Southern California (where we get great traditional Mexican food), and both my husband my I loved our breakfast. We both got loaded burritos, mine sausage, his chorizo. Good balance of fillings. Two burritos with coffees were $12. Don't be afraid to try this place even tho it only has a couple reviews. First...probably the BEST breakfast burrito EVER! BUT......(and my only complaint) have had repeated problems with posted hours. Yesterday, sat in front of the shop from 8:00 to 8:15 waiting for them to open. Left at 8:15. Posted hours showed 8:00 on Saturday. Other vehicles pulled up and left during that time. OPEN sign was posted but it was dark and doors were locked. On other occasions have been told that "the cook isn't here yet" on weekdays (not often but on more than one occasion). Since I am traveling from across town it would be great to be able to follow posted times of the establishment. Edited: change in staff has corrected the hours. Burritos STILL the best! read more

This is my favorite breakfast stop in town. Simple menu, and espresso drinks... Say no more! Besides the delicious burritos and the amazing lattes, the staff is always so attentive and kind. It makes you feel like you're just having breakfast with family. Not to mention, my mother has trouble ordering in english- seeing as she mostly speaks spanish- but the staff is bilingual, and she can order confidently. I alternate between the Chorizo, Sausage, and Soyrizo Loaded Burritos and a cup of Roasters coffee. Very fair price for very good food. Ive only done lunch twice, Brisket both times, and I was just a satisfied as I am with the breakfast. I ordered the loaded chicken burrito with black beans. The first thing to hit me was the smell. A wonderful, smoaky smell. Then I picked it up. It felt nice in my hands. Dr, not tacky or damp, with a dusting of flower. Then the tast, as good as the smell. Yuck. Stopped in here on a recent cruise night and continued my burrito quest. Gave my standard order. Large pieces of steak that were tough and plenty of gristle. I all ways order light bean and this had the second highest concentration of beans I have ever seen. Asked me what salsa I wanted , got home and no container of salsa. read more
