Like others have probably done, we found this gem via Yelp. Yelp is typically hit or miss for me. This time it was an unexpected hit! Small, clean and busy establishment near the airport with a quick, attentive and friendly service. We ordered the chilaquiles and cinnamon coffee. Everything was great. The other menu items also looked delicious from what we could see on other tables. Bonus: They also have fresh squeezed orange juice. Pro Tip: There is a ~4% surcharge for paying with credit card so to avoid that, bring cash and don't forget to tip your server.

Great hospitality and great food as well as agua frescas. It's close to the airport which is nice to see planes flying out

    Avocado toast! Yummmm

Wow! At a small airport watching planes take off and land. Food was beyond excellent! I cleaned my plate of avocado toast and we also got the breakfast tacos. The waitress Karina was awesome and so sweet! This is the place to go in Amarillo! Clean with great food and great location!

Excellent food with excellent service. You have to get there early to beat the crowd. Cinnamon coffee is the best in the area.

    Breakfast combo

Breakfast was missing flavor. Our wait for a table was short and service was attentive but the food just didn't taste good - I ordered a breakfast combo - biscuit was cold and dry, bacon wasn't cooked well enough, pancakes were soggy. Eggs were over cooked to my liking - just too many things were not good. My spouse had chilaquiles and he said it was spicy but lacking any combination of flavors. Tortillas were really hard and chewy - not tender nor pliable.

This is a very interesting restaurant in a very interesting place. We were recommended the English Field House by some friends who know we love good chilaquiles. Of course our initial reaction was "good chilaquiles at a place called the English Field House??". The name is historical, and does not reflect the food....so, there you have it. We ordered 2 chiliquieles...one chicken, one asada...one green, one red. Loved them all. The kids had the french toast and were very very happy. All in all...wonderful food. It is tight in there, and we had to wait half an hour, but it was Ok..lots to see outside as the airport isn't too busy, but has a museum about 100 yards away we checked out while waiting. All in all, a good experience and we will be back.

    Migas! Delish!

Located right next to the Tac Air terminal at Amarillo Airport, this is definitely a favorite of the locals ... and for good reason! The food here is pure local Tex-Mex, and absolutely delicious! I ordered the Migas. Think Chilaquiles but not as runny, heheh. Though it didn't look like a full plate, I was plenty full after wolfing it down! Next time I find myself in Amarillo, I'm going to have to try lunch and/or dinner here.

Worst instance now making me leave this review...and not coming back. Started off just standing waiting to be seated, not even in the door because of a group of people. Said they were a big party made sense why it may be hard to get in. Should of just left then. Lackluster attention from staff for everyone that came in after that group. Saw one couple even immediately be seated though after waiting 20 min with 3 people ahead of us and another group behind. (Happened to know the waitress apparently) Saw one table just up and leave due to being ignored and waiting on ticket to the point they left some cash and up and left in a very bad mood. Got told multiple times a 10-15 min wait due to tables needing cleaned off. There were 4 open tops that were empty throughout restaurant, the whole time and then another 3 opened up while waiting. Then was told 20-30 min wait due to the kitchen being backed up. At that point we just up and left combined with the VIP treatment of people being able to skip ahead of not 1 or 2 but 4 other groups of only 2 to 4 people with at least 5 or 6 open tables. I don't leave reviews often and do for great experiences and bad experiences this was one of the worst. The waitresses were clueless high school or 20 somethings not wanting to actively work and instead argue over whose fault it was a table left or why people would have their name written down and instead would leave due to the treatment of even just being seated, but somehow it's the kitchens fualt. 10/10 do not recommend and don't bother.

If you are looking for white tablecloths, subtle lighting, or a quiet place to whisper sweet…read morenothings, keep driving past Coyote Bluff Cafe (often locally called the "Coyote Bluu" or simply "The Bluff") in Amarillo, Texas. But if your idea of culinary heaven involves a grease-stained paper liner, an old-school Texas roadhouse vibe, and a burger that requires structural support, you have arrived at the right place. Nestled just a few blocks off Interstate 40 in a historic, diminutive former dance hall moved wholesale from neighboring Claude, Texas, Coyote Bluff is tiny. With only about 12 tables packed into its 1,000 square feet, the atmosphere is alive with a loud, friendly hum, a dirt parking lot, and a vintage bathtub floating full of ice and cold beer bottles. The place is amazing!!!! The unique steaming process is really amazing. You have to try the chili cheese fries to go with it. The menu keeps its focus tight, centering around half-pound patties of lean Texas ground beef cooked to order. While traditional options like the Hickory Burger and the Green Chili Cheese Burger are stellar, the undisputed heavyweight titleholder here is the legendary Burger from Hell. I had to try it, my wife opted for the Chicken Fried Steak. Many approach the "Hell Burger" with great trepidation, expecting it to be more of a gimmick built strictly on painful, mouth-numbing heat. Instead, it offers a beautifully layered flavor profile. The beef patty with Tabasco and their proprietary "Coyote Hell Sauce," then smothers it in gooey melted cheese, grilled onions, and fresh, vibrant sautéed jalapeños. It arrived on a toasted onion bun, it lands a solid 7 out of 10 on the heat scale. But rather than scorching your palate, it wraps it in a vinegary, spicy, deeply savory warmth. This place also serves up classic, heavy-hitting Texas roadhouse appetizers: Each of these are amazing sides and are worth of mentioning, First the Cheese Fries with Green Chiles, which I had with my burger and my wife had with her Chicken fried steak, it is served on a massive aluminum platter, these fresh-cut fries are heavily blanketed in melted cheese and mild green chiles. They are a mandatory companion to the burgers.  Other appetizers worth of note, are the Texas Red Chili & Green Chili Stew: The thick, hearty green chili stew is packed with meat and mild green peppers, offering a wonderful warming comfort, especially during cool Panhandle days.  and any of the Fried options ranging from baskets of battered fried pickles, garlic mushrooms, and stuffed jalapeños. Because everything is cooked to order and the dining room is incredibly compact, expect a wait during lunch rushes or weekends. However, that time spent waiting in the dirt lot among locals and passing road-trippers is part of the charm. Coyote Bluff Cafe doesn't try to be anything other than a spectacular, small-town Texas burger joint, and it executes that identity flawlessly. This is a MUST Stop in Texas

I mainly went because I had heard they had a Midwestern style pork tenderloin sandwich and or pork tenderloin dinner. Unfortunately it turned out they had stopped offering that because not enough people were ordering it. I totally understand but it was a big disappointment to me personally because that was something I miss about the Midwest and thought I had found a place where I could enjoy it. Other than that I really like the place. It's old Diner style which I really enjoy. I got a surprisingly early start for me and got there shortly after opening which is 10 AM. Unfortunately they didn't have any breakfast choices but their special of the day was catfish so I ordered that. The catfish was wonderful. Not overly salty like so many places. Perfect flavor, perfect coating, comes with one slice of white bread, a pile of delicious homemade french fries, not frozen. The ladies who own it/run it were very nice. If there was any drawback at all it was just at the table seemed a bit tacky like it still had stickies on it even though she wiped it as soon as I sat down. Their prices are very reasonable for what you get and they have daily specials. I took a picture of the specials board and posted it for your information. The portion they gave was very generous and I had leftovers to bring back. I asked if they had any desserts and she said they used to serve desserts but not enough people ordered them so they stopped making them. No sense wasting food if people aren't buying it. I don't usually order a dessert but I just had a feeling this is a place that would have really good ones. There is a thrift store I like up in that section of town so I will probably try to go again and hit up both at the same time. Do I recommend it? Definitely.
