Curious about their "sweet corn patties with mozzarella cheese" which were grilled on site (but seemingly bought packaged), I stopped despite the fact that I had recently consumed my lunch. For $4, I received a 'sandwich' wrapped in foil with a paper napkin cushioning my hand against the heat of the contents. It was about 4 inches in diameter, and fully heated through. It was reminiscient of a corny grilled cheese or a corny sauceless pizza. Since, hobbit-like, it was my 2nd mid-day meal, I couldn't believe I ate the whole thing, but then I figured it wouldn't reheat in a microwave all that well... It was a nice snack, but it is priced a little high to make it as a regular snack destination for me... more like a special sometime treat. PS - it is noted on the cart that the arepas are Gluten-Free.

The cheese must have been sitting out for a few days because it was so dry it wouldn't melt. Also the vendor was a huge dick to me. Got mad about me paying by card for a $6 order (that I'm 90% sure was advertised as $5) and mansplained credit card transactions to me. I was so jarred that I asked for my card back but he insisted on completing the transaction while complaining about cars payments the entire time. Do NOT eat here. You will regret it. If curious, this was the cart across from Boston Public Library.

Maybe the best kept secret in Greater Boston. It's a hot dog buffet in the parking lot of a…read moremotorcycle parts dealer. The staff speaks limited English but food is the language we all speak. They are so friendly and will F you up with anything you want. This isn't a toppings bar. It's thanksgiving dinner, super bowl Sunday, and forth of July all over your hot dog. Pressed, sliced, it don't matter. Worth going JUST for a dog, bun, and mustard. But you'd have to be insane to ask for anything less than "a little of everything" I was kinda iffy about paying $9 dollars for a hot dog but it's truly a steal.

The space is really nice, clean, and very nostalgic, it gives old school 90s Brasil vibes, iykyk! There is limited parking right in front of the restaurant with their food truck taking up half the spots. There were no staff present when we walked in, they were in the back, so we went up and ordered using the tablets. While convenient, I find this set up super impersonal. The food, 1 burger, 2 pressed hotdogs, and fries, took longer than we expected 20-25 mins. Once we did interact with the staff, they were super friendly! Now for the food, fries were way over salted, we had to wipe them off using napkins. Burger meat and bun were dry, the patty was also really salty. The pressed hotdogs were fine but they changed the hot dog they use and it wasn't our preference. The homemade mayo was really nice. While the sandwiches are substantial, given the quality, they're expensive when compared with similar options in the area. Overall, not as good as we remembered though I would recommend for the close to what you'd find in Brasil, authentic experience. We hope they can get back to what made them so special when they first started!

As a true BC Eagle, I had my first Che-Chi's hotdog on a drunken weekend night as I stumbled across the holy St. Ignatius Church. I didn't remember a thing from the possibly wonderful party that night, I didn't know where the heck I actually got the money from, and god knows (literally) where I was going wondering around Comm ave at that hour, BUT, I DO remember the divine tastiness of my first Che-Chi's hotdog. Ever since that first bite, I was hooked like a serious addict and I would wait for the Che-Chi dudes to visit campus each weekend and get a nose full of the fresh grill smell of hotdog, chicken, sausages....etc with the peppers and onions... and then i'd have to take some time to decide which sandwich I should go for, it's always a struggle. Some cool things about this hotdog stand is that, a) Che-chi's make their own secret sauce for the sandwiches and I have no idea what this secret mix is (even when I am sober, I promise, I usually am), but it's a perfect balance of hot, sweet, salty, smokey and tanginess all in one. b) They sometimes give you a free bottle of beverage with any sandwich purchase, which I think is a great deal around Fenway park. Che-Chi's is definitely one of the fondest memory of my BC days.

Granted, this place is no NY midtown halal cart. ;)…read more But when I was a faceless downtown drone, I used to stare at the clock waiting for lunch hour to start so I could get my itty bitty taste of freedom from the over-air-conditioned maze of cubicles called my office. And in Downtown Crossing, there was a little kebab cart that did chicken kebabs on rice and salad with this unbelievable creamy dressing. I'd order the small chicken and salad, which came with plenty of chicken on a bed of lettuce, tomatoes, onion, cucumber, green peppers, carrots, feta, and hot peppers. The chicken was always pretty dry, but throw it into a half pita with the salad and slather it in the creamy dressing - and BAM! Lunch was never the same again. Now I'm a faceless grad student, and I still stare at the clock waiting for lunch hour to start. Problem is, there's no kebab cart with creamy dressing waiting for me downstairs.

Their marketing department should really work on that ... Alas, for $6.00 (inc. tax) you can get a medium salad & chicken with a piece of pita bread thrown in the plastic bag. The salad is basically a few chunks of iceberg lettuce, grape tomatoes, onions, green pepper, jalapenos, sprinkled with some feta. The chicken is good and filling, although a little dry. The best part of the deal is their thick, creamy dressing. I'm pretty sure it is TERRIBLE for you - think loads of butter / mayo / creamy goodness. But hey you're putting it on lettuce, so it's ok, right?

I came in and told the bartenders I was already buzzing and trying to enjoy my last night in Boston. From their recommendation, I ordered the steak quesabirria - top knotch recommendation because as someone visiting from California, I really enjoyed this plate. I also had two rounds of the Broken Heart margarita, and got some calamari to go. Vibes are immaculate here, music choice for the nightly setting was on point. Customer service was superb. We got the elote grilled street corn because, well, you have to, and it did not disappoint. So yummy. I had the mahi mahi tacos, which came with a generous portion of protein. Fresh, flavorful, and filling without being heavy. To close it out they surprised us with free cotton candy, which was the perfect playful ending to a meal that felt like a whole experience. The little complimentary touches at the beginning and end made it feel special. Will be back.
