Not a fancy place. Fresh telera bread was toasted, packed with chicken, avocado, Oaxaca cheese, onions and chipotle sauce. Yum. Friendly service. I can't wait to try the tacos and other specials

Service and ambiance were good. I had the enchiladas verdes and they were great but could've used some more flavor. My friends said the same about their carnitas plate and tacos.

The torta was amazing, like lick your fingers good! The drive to and back from Boston on a Friday so worth, even with traffic and finding a parking spot. Will be repeating soon. Took a chicken burrito for the ride back of my lunch the next day. Still amazing even being reheat. Service was great and quick! The place had a young chill vibe! I am seeing more of this amazing place in my future!

Disclaimer: this is for their food truck. I ordered a Choriqueso Torta. While it didn't blow my socks off, it was still a solid, respectable, and flavorful sandwich. To start, the bread was just right - it was soft enough to be pleasant to bite into without falling apart or being so firm biting down squeezes all the filling out like it's the last drop of toothpaste! The chorizo was great! It was fresh and had fantastic flavors with great spice and heat. I also appreciate that the protein was skimped on. Also, the cheese paired with it very nicely. Where it comes to veggies, these were a pleasant touch, offering some freshness and balancing the heavily savory and fatty notes of the chorizo and cheese. Finally, service and value: While I was the only person with an order, getting the sandwich took a minute or two, and it tasted fresh. As for value, the Torta was perfect for lunch, filling, and reasonably priced at $9.95. Thus, a great truck to grab a lunch from, with quality food, fast service, and a price that won't thin your wallet and leave you hungry for more.

Yummy enchiladas verde. Service is quick. Restaurant is on the smaller side but theres nice tables to sit and eat at. One of the North End's few fast fold places and reasonably priced.

My friends and I went to Tenoch on a Thursday evening after work. We actually went to the location in North Point, but it looks like they don't have a Yelp page yet. Considering it's a change, I think it's safe to assume the food is relatively standard. When we first arrived around 7pm, it wasn't too busy, but by 8pm, there were more customers there. If you're going to come to Tenoch, order the one of the tortas. One of my friends ordered the plato carnitas and said it was pretty standard. It looked like the kind of bowl you could get at a place like Chipotle, but with less toppings. The rest of us ordered tortas - the torta vegetales and the torta campechana. The sandwich itself doesn't really look like much, just a thick bread with some filling. I thought they were delicious, though! The onions and chipotle mayo really brought the tortas to the next level. One last note, I was hoping to order the horchata, which was on the menu, but they didn't actually have it available. Hopefully I can try it next time!

Headed to the north end! For Italian food, you ask? Ya sure, pasta is amazing but this spot is perfectly, weirdly placed on the outskirts of Boston's Italian hotspot. I definitely recommend eating in if you can. There's really no parking in the north end, but most of the food here (especially the tortas) are best eaten fresh. I can see the bread and tortillas going soggy real fast. The gentleman at the counter was super friendly and helpful, and the food was fast and fresh. Fish taco - crisp, fresh ingredients, so yummy Torta campechana - the pork is incredibly flavorful and tender, it's simply swoon worthy and makes total sense that it's one of their most popular tortas Torta asada - the first few bites felt like a steak and cheese sandwich (which it basically is), but the more you get into it, the more fillings you get. The jalapeños added the perfect bite, and we love oaxaca cheese Overall I'd give this place is 4.5 stars! We weren't there for long (it's a quick casual meal), but there were so many people flowing in and out for both take out and eat in. Don't be fooled by the location, it's teensy but packs a punch. We will for sure be back!

Everything is consistently good here, Made to order and never disappointing. Service is courteous and prompt.

Real nice cute eatery for takeout and sit down in the North end. I ordered the marinated chicken tacos. It was really fresh and quite good for a quick bite to eat. It's also ideal for takeout. Very popular with the neighbors and nearby businesses.

    Torta Asada - $8.90 as of 1/2021

This is a great place to grab a torta (basically it's if a taco and a sandwich got married and had a kid). However I found that there is some variability with the protein fillings you get as some days they're 3-4 star or can be up to a 5 star when it comes to flavor (and we've experienced a gamut of consistencies). Our last trip we had the following (as of 1/2021): - Torta Asada - $8.90 - For the value this is the sandwich to get if you're unsure (there's a bunch of other options). The pulled pork can vary depending on when you go. Some days it's absolutely delicious, other days it can be less so. I'd advise on going when it's busy to ensure constant turn over. The flavor profile however is great with the pork, cheese, bread and sauce in a great savory harmony. - Quesadilla Pollo - $6.90 - We got this just to give it a try and unfortunately the chicken in ours was pretty dry with not a lot of flavor. Unless you're a chicken person I'd try a more fatty protein (like steak) which is something we'll try next time. - Chips (with Guacamole) - $4.20 - Guacamole had great flavor but the chips were a bit meh (In my opinion some more salt would help). For the price I was hoping for a larger container of Guacamole. I would still say that this place is overall awesome and would recommend anyone that likes Mexican flavors to stop by and try. BE WARNED: If you have a torta make sure you have time to nap it off afterwards as this thing is HEAVY. The pixie fairy will stop by with a club afterwards so either plan accordingly (or maybe just eat half of it).

This was my first time going to Tenoch and it was awesome! It is a cool spot in east Cambridge. I'm not sure if parking is a convenient option, but it is accessible to the green line. There is an ok amount of seating that is spread out in different areas with a variety of style. Some good for individuals and some larger tables that could accommodate a group. Simple decorations and it was very clean. I went with a group of friends around 7pm, and it started getting busy around 7:30-8pm. We went for dinner and got the torta campechana, torta vegetales and the Plato carnitas. All were good, I definitely recommend the tortas - very large plush bread with flavorful filings. I split one with a friend and I still felt content with the amount. The carnitas plate was good, but fairly simple. Overall, I definitely recommend Tenoch for a solid, flavorful meal (particularly the tortas) at a reasonable price (around $10).

We walked into a small, unassuming space where the focus is squarely on freshly prepared food made with bold, authentic flavors. The dining room is modest and functional, with a counter and a handful of tables that give it the feel of a neighborhood taquería rather than a sit-down restaurant. The energy is practical and welcoming, with the open kitchen allowing us to see the tortillas being pressed and the meats being grilled fresh behind the counter. The birria tacos are the signature order and the dish that defines the menu. We ordered a few and found the tortillas crisped up on the griddle, the beef tender and well seasoned, and the rich consommé served on the side for dipping. The combination of the savory meat, the crispy tortilla, and the deep, slightly smoky broth made each bite feel layered and complete. Other standouts include the adobada tacos, which had a good char and a subtle spice that built gradually, and the lengua torta, with tender tongue layered between a soft roll and topped with fresh ingredients. The pozole was hearty and comforting, with a broth that carried the flavor of the hominy and meat without being overly heavy. The tamales, chicken flautas, and well-seasoned rice and beans rounded out the menu, each arriving hot and freshly made. The pickled onions and house salsas added extra flavor, and the horchata was a popular choice to pair with the meal, its cinnamon sweetness cutting through the richness of the dishes. Service was friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant maintained a relaxed neighborhood atmosphere that keeps people coming back. Despite its modest size, the kitchen moved efficiently, making it a reliable option for both dine-in and takeout. The staff checked in at the right moments and kept the pacing of the meal comfortable, ensuring that even when the small dining room filled up, the experience stayed smooth. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food in the Boston area, Taquería Jalisco stands out for its consistently flavorful cooking, generous portions, and menu built around classic recipes rather than modern interpretations. It is the kind of place where the food speaks for itself, and the simplicity of the setting only adds to the sense that you are eating something made with care and tradition.

I had been craving fish tacos for a really long time, and I was delighted to find a whole section of the menu dedicated to them. We started off with margaritas - one of the best companions to fish tacos - and I ordered mine spicy with jalapeño. For food, we shared the lobster empanadas and chorizo and potato taquitos. I ordered the tempura fish tacos for myself. Our margaritas were brought out shortly - mine was refreshing but lacked the kick from the jalapeño that I was hoping for (there was only one thin slice of pepper). Our food was brought out shortly, and I found it a bit overwhelming when our appetizers and tacos came out together. I started with my tacos, and these were excellent. The fish was flaky and fried to perfection, and I loved the rainbow of sauces and toppings. Plus, the tortillas were nice and sturdy and didn't tear. The lobster empanadas were super decadent, and I appreciated the substantial amount of lobster stuffed inside. I was too full to eat much of the taquitos but took a few bites. These also had good flavor but weren't standouts. Next time, I'd just get the tacos and maybe a light app. Towards the end of our visit, the restaurant seemed to clear out, and we had a difficult time trying to locate our server for the bill. It didn't taste fresh and came across more like artificial jalapeño flavoring rather than real infusion--and it wasn't spicy at all. For food, we ordered a variety of small plates to share. Everything was decent, but nothing really stood out. It felt a bit underwhelming compared to the atmosphere. The biggest issue was the service. It was very slow throughout the night, and getting the check was especially frustrating--it took about 30 minutes, and we had to ask multiple times before finally receiving it. Everyone seemed to love what they ordered! However, Im taking away two stars because of our service and our waitress. When we sat down, she casually asked, "Can I get you started with chips and guac?" At pretty much every Mexican restaurant I have ever been to, that phrasing implies it is complimentary. At no point did she mention that the guac was an added charge. We later found out we were charged $16 per guac, yes because she brought over TWO (!!) which totaled over $30, which felt really misleading. If something is meant to be an appetizer you are paying for, I expect it to be framed as, "Would you like to order any appetizers?" not presented as a default and free starter.
