    Cali burrito
    Eric M.

Little bit left to be desired. The good, the waitress super friendly able to offer suggestions and menu insights. The guac was okay, Cali burrito rocked ( Tator tots super nice touch), fish taco was good as well. Not pictured was the quesabirria, and to be honest was disappointing. The waitress did say it would be on a 4in taco, (all blue corn which I liked) but it was so small, soft and watery not really any crisp cheese or anything, and kind of cold too? For the extra price for it you'd think it would be a bit better but wasn't. I would personally get tacos somewhere else, like is it good yes but I wouldn't rush to come back. Thankful they had the World Cup going, the crow was excited the space was clean and tidy as well.

I and three friends came here for the Dine Out Boston (DOB) week. The DOB menu was ok, but not looking like a great deal, so three of us ordered off the regular menu. The tacos were excellent. Very flavorful and tasty. I would recommend them unreservedly. The refried beans had a nice kick to them.

Very cute vibes and absolutely kind staff! The music just truly sets the ambience here, making you wanna dance a little bit lol. The food is pretty good and I personally would recommend getting one of their cocktails because they are absolutely delicious! The bowl is filled with flavor and overall great bang for your buck! Great for groups or even just a date!

Taco Azul was nice! Their menu is all about 'elevated' Mexican food, serving up fancy twists on the usual dishes. Every taco we tried tasted great, packed with fresh ingredients and lots of meat piled onto a tiny tortilla that didn't stand a chance at containing everything. Were the taco worth $6-$9 each? That's a debate you need to settle with yourself before coming here, because the price tag was not cheap. Margaritas were excellent, and they have a decent deal on pitchers if you have a thirsty group. The original and spicy margaritas were each fantastic, lots of flavor and very refreshing. All in all, a great meal, but be prepared to pay!

Very nice restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and outside dining. The menu is not overwhelming and everything is delicious. Fresh ingredients and creative dishes. Definitely would come back.

Really liked this place! Only complaint was the music was too loud I couldn't hear everyone at my table. Guac was the best I've had and the watermelon sugar cocktail was lovely! Tried the mojo chicken, sweet potato with black bean and the shrimp al pastor tacos. My favourite was the sweet potato!

Almost as big as the lime. Worth the trip

Perfect Mexican place for trying a tiny taste of Mexico, the quesabirria is the smallest and most tasteful I have ever seen and taste lol

Blue tortillas! Cool! But not the best Mexican cuisine. Queso was good, not great. The chipotle chicken taco was delish and definitely my favorite. Other chicken taco was good too! We tried the bean taco without the sweet potato so it was beans and chipotle mayo and not that good and mushy but that's on me for getting rid of a main ingredient. Beautiful interior, close to the common, but there are better taco places around. Plus $17 for a margarita.

I came right when it opened on a weekend so it was less busy than usual. My server was really great. Friendly quick efficient service. I had a busy morning in the city so it was nice to come in for their delicious tacos. Speaking of tacos, 3 cheers for the crispy avocado taco. The absolute perfect amount of crisp without making it all batter. So good! I order a margarita because margs and tacos go together like a married couple - they just fit! It was also excellent. Such a great experience, looking forward to coming back.

The crispy avocado taco was delicious. Loaded nachos and Mexican corn was also good. They small portion sizes. Service and ambiance was nice. Drinks were really good. I wish they had a little larger portion size for the price.

Allergic to corn? So, they can make a cheese tortilla instead!

Our last stop in Boston was Taco Azul, and it was the perfect spot to have a light dinner before heading out of town! We had a spot on the patio because it was a sublime July afternoon! Michel was super helpful, especially with some modifications for a friend with some serious food allergies. Tacos are traditional and small, but your can get as many as you want and you can mix and match to try a few kinds or get multiples of your fave! My fave was the shrimp Al pastor, but the carnitas was a table favorite. Enjoy!

Would rate this higher if they had more than 2 waiters per shift. One of the servers was also acting as host. We had to flag the server down to take our food order after over 30 minutes and his response was he wasn't coming over because the kitchen was backed up (which wasn't communicated to us). On top of this, the tacos were pretty mid, nothing crazy. I will say the watermelon margarita was very good and def a highlight. I'd come back just for drinks and guac next time! Prices also weren't bad at all

Such a cute spot in downtown Boston! Always walk by here but missed this restaurant - glad I came! Their tacos are great (got the crispy shrimp and the black bean/sweet potato) -- their queso was nothing too special, but would definitely want to try some more tacos!!!

We walked into a small, unassuming space where the focus is squarely on freshly prepared food made with bold, authentic flavors. The dining room is modest and functional, with a counter and a handful of tables that give it the feel of a neighborhood taquería rather than a sit-down restaurant. The energy is practical and welcoming, with the open kitchen allowing us to see the tortillas being pressed and the meats being grilled fresh behind the counter. The birria tacos are the signature order and the dish that defines the menu. We ordered a few and found the tortillas crisped up on the griddle, the beef tender and well seasoned, and the rich consommé served on the side for dipping. The combination of the savory meat, the crispy tortilla, and the deep, slightly smoky broth made each bite feel layered and complete. Other standouts include the adobada tacos, which had a good char and a subtle spice that built gradually, and the lengua torta, with tender tongue layered between a soft roll and topped with fresh ingredients. The pozole was hearty and comforting, with a broth that carried the flavor of the hominy and meat without being overly heavy. The tamales, chicken flautas, and well-seasoned rice and beans rounded out the menu, each arriving hot and freshly made. The pickled onions and house salsas added extra flavor, and the horchata was a popular choice to pair with the meal, its cinnamon sweetness cutting through the richness of the dishes. Service was friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant maintained a relaxed neighborhood atmosphere that keeps people coming back. Despite its modest size, the kitchen moved efficiently, making it a reliable option for both dine-in and takeout. The staff checked in at the right moments and kept the pacing of the meal comfortable, ensuring that even when the small dining room filled up, the experience stayed smooth. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food in the Boston area, Taquería Jalisco stands out for its consistently flavorful cooking, generous portions, and menu built around classic recipes rather than modern interpretations. It is the kind of place where the food speaks for itself, and the simplicity of the setting only adds to the sense that you are eating something made with care and tradition.
