I am so glad I tried it again because man... it is just so dang good, homey, comforting, and delicious! The service and staff at this location is impeccable. They are literally the cleanest people I ever seen working for a chain. I mean who cleans the stove vent in the middle of service? They do. (And yes, they protected and covered the food properly.) I've never seen one rice kernel out of place and have yet to see anything not shiny let alone sticky. Staff is quick, attentive, work well together, and also upsell you nonchalantly. I was expecting more of a saucey dish the way a Halal cart chicken over rice platter is with their yogurt sauce. Adding the green and red spicy condiments helped but wasn't enough. I can't say for a fact if this was or wasn't intentional, but I thought the inconsistency was unusual. Red sauce had an interesting flavor, but it was very mild. It did do a good job tying everything together, but it did not add the "wow!" of flavor I was expecting. There was a teeny tiny bit of tomato in the dish, so few that it was almost as if they had just started adding them, and then realized tomatoes don't go in this dish, and took out all but 5 or so diced pieces. That said, it would have been very nice to have a much more present fresh element to the dish to balance the chicken and rice, Overall, I think A-OK is a very appropriate rating. You get ~3x the amount of the cucumber tomato salad compared to what you get in the rice plate (usually the rice plate's cucumber tomato salad occupies the small square in the take out box). You get a big scoop of hummus sitting in the other take out box's small square. A generous amount of chicken adorned the salad. The food is a solid 4*, great for work lunch and with generous portions. Being distracted with a piece of falafel while in line seems a bit silly, but really brightens up my experience (yeah I know everyone gets this treatment, but still).
