Well, I was going to just chalk it up and forget about my Burritt experience, but I got another email soliciting service for my truck. I detailed my issues with the dealership and the service department and asked to be removed form future correspondence. Today, on Christmas, I received another email. So I have made this review and included my previous email from last summer below. I do not recommend Burritt service. They are either liars or incompetent. I do not trust them at all. The salesman was great (Jack Cooley), but based on the service department I will not return for future business. I have also steered friends and family away from looking at vehicles the dealership had listed. Here is the email that I sent: "Dear Phil, There is very little chance that I will ever use Burritt for vehicle maintenance after the experience with purchasing my truck last year. Delivery of my truck was delayed for a couple weeks under the understanding that the brakes needed attention to pass inspection, which I was fine with at the time. Fast forward 3-4 months from purchase and the brakes felt soft and the stopping distance continued to degrade. I ended up purchasing all new brake pads and rotors around the first of the year. I replaced the components and flushed the brake fluid. It was obvious that neither the brake components nor the brake fluid had been touched just 8 months earlier by Burritt. This leads me to question, what if any brake work was actually done before my truck was delivered? Therefore, I have zero confidence in the Burritt service department. I cannot see myself purchasing another vehicles from your dealership either. As an aside, my son is looking for a truck and found one he was interested in at Burritt. I would strongly advise anyone to think twice before doing business with Burritt Motors Chevrolet in Oswego, NY. Their labor rates are extremely high, and based on our experience, the quality of diagnosis and repair does not justify the cost, the techs shouldn't be part changers! Last year, my brother-in-law brought his vehicle in for a check engine light. He was quoted thousands of dollars for parts and labor and ended up taking out a loan to cover the repairs. After the work was completed, the check engine light came back on the very next day. When he returned, he was told it was a different code and that another part had failed, this time allegedly cracked, requiring nearly another $1,000 in repairs. At that point, he simply couldn't afford to proceed. Six months later, once he had the money, he returned to have the repair done. Despite already being quoted previously, the price of the part had somehow doubled. I was able to source the same OEM part directly from GM for roughly one-third of what they were charging. The manager stated he would waive the labor cost if my brother-in-law paid for the part. After the repair was completed, yet another code supposedly appeared, and they attempted to recommend an additional repair costing nearly $2,000. At that point, we realized that one of the components they were now referencing had already been replaced during the original repair. When this was brought to their attention, the issue suddenly "disappeared." To make matters worse, when it came time to pay, the final bill still reflected the inflated part price, despite the earlier agreement. I have personally only dealt with this dealership twice in nearly 20 years, and based on these experiences, I gladly drive 45+ minutes to another dealership rather than return here, and I urge you the same. Just seeing that there are quite a few others with the same kinds of complaints, I wonder when criminal charges will hit this place? read more

First of all let me say that Eryn French is a wonderful salesperson. She was very professional and knowledgeable. I encourage everyone to ask for her to assist you with your purchase. Secondly, we had an issue with the brakes on our 2023 Ford Bronco and the service team immediately replaced all rotors and pads as well as 1 caliper. Service after the sale is generally poor at most dealerships, Not with Burritt, they were fantastic. Thank you. read more

We took our 2016 jeep for some work and it was over 2000.00 dollars after we got home found out the work was not completed took it back told them what they didn't do and asked for it to get done when we went to pick it up what a mess had to deal with 3 different people and they got over 1500.00 more dollars after talking to all the clowns i asked for the owner and oh man no way you're going to talk to him and after all of the talking for a very long time I had to leave now months no word from them except for an advertisement card in the mail today I am also going to the BBB with this rip off scam that is being done so beware all lies fly out of there mouth . I hit one star to get this posted but I would have given a minus 5 that is how bad they are. Very Very unfortunate. Had work done and broke down on a long road trip and they took no responsibility for what broke. Brakes went out and someone could of died. Sure they paid for Mechanic to fix the fault they caused in a different state but definitely did not get reimbursed for the amount owed. They did not take the severity of the could haves! They come back with the comment- well the parts we put on are still good, even though the issue was their installment putting the car back together. I would definitely NOT recommend this shop to anyone. Poor Customer service and did not step up the plate of responsibility. read more

The service center takes advantage of elderly women. The service manager is the worst of them all. They lied about things they had done. They do not call you back no matter how many times you call. They actually charged my aunt for repairs made due to a recall, then 3 1/2 years later claimed it needed to be done again. After seeking another garage we discovered the original repair she was charged for was never done. Never service your car here They lie, and steal. read more

After receiving wonderful assistance at the parts counter, I inquired at service if I could possibly have assistance with my tire pressures. A short time after my tires are checked and filled and I'll on my way. Oh and I want to mention that I didn't buy my 2021 Chevy Trailblazer from this dealership but have received consistent excellent service! They go above and beyond in customer service read more

UPDATED Complete crooks tried to charge thousands of dollars more than was listed on their website and another time they sold me a car that they had no clear title for had to wait months to take care of lien from previous owner. EDIT UPDATE - Stopped by to see if things have gotten any better here. Still not customer focused told me can't give the vehicle I was interested in a thorough test drive and had to be back within 15 minutes allowed. Pretty idiotic because we have another garage look at vehicle we test drive and and can't control someone else's schedule. Frankly customer service just sucks, promises are never kept and the salesmen play mind games for example saying "let's get the your keys to your new car" baloney trying to head fake you into buying their car. read more

The worst dealership! They blow you off with anything anytime you call! "We don't do that in the Chevy side" when I PURCHASED the car on that side. Have had NOTHING but issues with this jeep since day one! The customer service is TERRIBLE and unbelievably awful! They push you off until you contact higher and even they blow you off. Even reached out the "executive" manager and he was the WORST person I've ever had communication with. Tried telling me brakes wore down in 3 1/2 months and were BEYOND inspection passing tossing the blame on me. It's not my everyday day car, not sure how the brakes went down "quickly" . Guess it was from me driving my ROGUE daily and this randomly! Blamed us for the oil leak that I didn't "have checked" when the jeep was in on May 10th, after PULLING teeth to get it in the shop in the first place! I made an appointment to view a used truck that this dealership posted for sale on their website as well as the Autotrader site. I arrived after work, and was introduced to a sales person. ( Phil Batchelor) He asked one of the other sales staff in the next cubicle for the keys to this truck, and the coworker told him "That truck is going to auction - it needs a catalytic converter , which is going to be $5000 dollars, and they don't want to put the money into the truck" The sales person comes back - with a straight face - and tells me he is going to get the keys to the truck and bring it around front to test drive. When he left to get the keys and a dealer plate, I left the dealership. Apparently he thought I could not hear his conversation in the cubicle that was right next to his. I had an appointment for my car at 8:00 in the morning... they didn't call me until 4:30 to tell me it wouldn't be ready. Waste of Time!!! Let me preface this rant by the fact that 4-5 phone call conversations were had prior to us driving all the way here. We were very clear what we were willing to do with our truck and trading it in on another truck on the lot. We were also clear that we do NOT NEED to trade our truck so if it wasn't an option we wouldn't come. Well after giving the same damn information over the phone multiple times they said oh no, we are willing to do a deal. We need this truck off the lot. Last 2017 on the lot and 2019s already out. So we drive up there, get asked ALL the same information about our truck and he comes back with "do you want to lease a 2018?"!!!!!!! And this is where I politely educated him on leases. What a waste of 2hours!!!! I wouldn't be so aggravated but we specifically told them what we were willing to pay and our terms and if they couldn't meet that then we were not interested in buying their Old "new" vehicle that was collecting cobwebs on their lot. As many others have said....this dealer is HORRIBLE!!!! I was in contact with them for a week and a half about a specific Jeep they had on their lot. I communicated with 3 different employees. I had an appointment to travel from out of town to come test drive the Jeep on a Saturday. I had to make arrangements for childcare to make the trip. When I arrived 10 minutes early for my appointment on a Saturday at 11am, they told me the Jeep was sold! No phone call, no notice, they allowed me to drive all the way there and then questioned why I was so upset? The manager was condescending and arrogant! I will NEVER go back if they have the last Jeep for sale on earth! They will NEVER earn my business!!!!! read more

Avoid this dealer like the plague! They lied about replacing the tires on the truck I bought. Were supposed to replace all 4, only replaced 2 and they were used, not new as promised. The brakes were shot, had to replace pads & rotors all the way around, my mechanic said he didn't know how it passed inspection. The sales mgr was Jim Condgon rude to me when I called, to the point that I had to hang up on him as he was constantly over talking me as if what I had to say was not important. I drove 45 minutes there to look at 3 used Malibu's. First one was a 2013 covered from one end to the other with major hail damage, enough that the car should have been totalled, would have cost more to repair than the car was worth, $8995, next. Another 2013 Malibu with the drivers rocker panel filled from front to back with Bondi, the repainted, 46,000 miles with the original tires with almost no tread left which shouldn't pass inspection, but salesman said they would pass it. Car could barely get out of its own way, very sluggish, $10,485, next. A 2016 Malibu with 1.5 liter turbo, smelled like cow manure inside, spare tire and trunk floor missing. Salesman gave me the equivalent of a car fax that was done 19,000 miles previous to the mileage on the report, which showed there had been in an accident. There was also a one month old inspection sticker from Burrits in the windshield with over 1200 miles since inspection, which to me indicates they sold the car and had to take it back for some reason. Salesman had a few different answers for that, but he was dancing as fast as he could to try to explain and I wasn't buying any of it. They were asking over $13,000 for that one. These guys are taking advantage of the market during the pandemic and peddling junk without even prepping the cars to sell. I don't expect a used car to be perfect but when I go to a franchised dealer and pay premium price I expect them to be decent cars, wasted almost 4 hours of my day, 2 of which I took off from work, between the 45 minute drive each way and time there to look at junk. read more

Had purchased a used vehicle and 1 week later the check engine light came on. I called and scheduled a service appointment to have it investigated. 2 hours prior to my appointment, I receive a phone call that the appointment was with the wrong service area, as it could be under warranty with my low mileage. I stated that this was unacceptable as I had taken the day off and was driving 50 miles for the appointment. After being placed on hold, I was told to come as planned. Upon my arrival, I was told that the diagnostic hook-up was a $100 charge and that I would have to pay any work done as again this was the wrong service area. I traveled 100 miles for nothing. Promises were made and not followed through on, service issues w/ the vehicle from delivery that they won't even diagnose w/ out a fee. If they can treat someone they've known for close to 20yrs and have to see around town, then I can't imagine how they treat someone off the street. Management here does not care and doesn't check out their used cars at all before selling them. They're pushy and want you to buy the car right then and there and they want you to drive away with it within a couple of hours after so called" detailing". Well, I had that happen to me , I found a car I liked ,so I didn't care if they were pushing me to buy (I'm not stupid), I was totally without a car at this point and needed one. It was during the dead of winter and freezing out, I took it for a drive, and looked the body over carefully...or so I thought. The detailing was just a quick wash down of the body, no cleaning of the inside and some of the fluids were almost dry. A couple of weeks later, my son happened to bend down to look at his shoe when we were out shopping and under the front bumper was body damage where it wasn't noticeable, unless you bent down. I know for a fact the guy who washed the car would not have missed it or the person who did the so called inspection on the car. As soon as I saw it , I took it back to Burritt's and showed them and they had the nerve to say I must have done the damage to the car. I told them it was hardly driven and sat in a garage for most of the time that I had owned it, because I'm retired and don't go out in the winter unless it's nice weather. Plus , if I had done the damage I would turn it into my insurance co., not go to them. The salesman said the manager promises to call you and figure out what to do for me, but surprise, he never did. After calling there several times, and sending e-mails to talk to the manager, the salesman(not the manager) said they would charge me over a thousand dollars to fix the car in their body shop. . They are the worst dealership I've ever dealt with when it comes to customer satisfaction, and I've bought several cars over my 60 plus years of buying cars. This was the first used car I've ever bought and the last. I certainly would never recommend anyone to them after this experience. I had the car fixed by another body shop, not theirs and of course, it was a lot cheaper then what they wanted to charge me. oh....and I paid for the whole thing out of my own pocket, after they said they would give me some money towards the damage. read more

Yesterday, I submitted an inquiry about a vehicle through cargurus.com. Cargurus does not reveal the name of the dealership in their car listings. When I received a dealer response, it came from a salesperson at Burritt Motors, of all places! I reiterated to the salesperson my interest in the vehicle (which he already knew as he responded to my inquiry). Suddenly there was some confusion over what vehicle I was interested in. I reminded the salesperson of the vehicle and the price. He came back with another vehicle at a similar price. This one was not worth as much. I went back to cargurus.com and found that, TODAY, Burritt raised the price of the vehicle I inquired about TODAY by $2000.00. It is funny that, following my previous issues with Burritt, the sales manager admitted that his business is incompetent but that they do not engage in BAIT AND SWITCH. Hmmm...WARNING!!! read more

I secured financing through my own bank, went to Burritt's, found a car I liked. Right from the very start the sales guy was pushing me to finance through them instead. I insisted I wanted to stay with my bank. He was not the nicest guy after that. I drove the car, my dad came with me who has been a professional mechanic all his adult life. He told him what needed to be fixed (all minor things) we signed the purchase agreement and I dropped it at my bank. They wouldn't approve it because Burritt's was asking $2,000 above book value, and it had about 94,000 Miles on it. I talked to a manager at dealership who INSISTED that my loan officer was wrong and had the wrong NADA report. I told him she has the VIN number, so not sure how. He said he was going to call her and let her know what she was missing and work it all out. Rather than doing that, they ran me through their lenders instead knowing I really wanted to Stay with my bank. He never called my bank. I checked. Then the sales guy confirms that no they didn't call like they were supposed to and that she had the right NADA report. So 2 lies from the manager! I really should have listened to everyone who told me their horror stories and to stay away from them. I do know others who are happy with them, and it seems like where the trouble starts with a lot of people is when you don't want to finance through them. Not once in 25 years of buying trucks, cars and motorcycles has a dealership never budged from its original offer. It seems like every response back after not budging on the price or even accessories was "well you are still ahead of the game because of the cash back." The cash back I am receiving has nothing to do with the price of the new truck, the cash back is because I had so much equity in my old truck. And part of that equity is probably due to the fact that FX Caparra bent over backwards to get me into that truck. Then not only was the truck scheduled to be done at 11, then 12, it wasn't actually done till 10 minutes to 1. And like the salesman said the only thing they had to do is fill the tank and clean it up a little because it is a brand new truck and they had nothing to install. Come to find out after driving off the lot, after the 2 hour delay, the cargo lights weren't even installed and where sitting in a box on the back seat LOL, WTF. And know one returns any calls when they tell you they will. I left 3 separate messages with my salesperson after they didn't call me back when he said he would. He still has never called me back.Finally I got a hold of him when I went to the dealership in person tho check on some parts that were suppose to be removed from my old truck and returned. He said they would be off later that day and he would call me back. It was no surprise he didn't call me that day and hasn't called me back since. Now today I called to check on the status of the cash back i am suppose to be getting from the equity in my trade in. No answer so I left a message there too, it shouldn't be a surprise to me but I haven't receive a call back on that either. It's safe to safe I will never do any business here except for service on my vehicle they seemed to be a little better read more

We purchased a Subaru Forester in 2011 from Burritt Motors. We were told there was no accident history. We have had multiple issues and rattles in the car over the past 6 years that were unexplainable. We recently went to trade the Subaru in for another vehicle (at another dealership) and were shown via Carfax that the car had a significant vehicle accident history, therefore greatly reducing our trade-in value! Found a great deal on a 2014 Explorer on cargurus.com. After running an autocheck I found they have had said vehicle over 9 months hence the great price. I called in the morning and took the hour drive this evening. After 2 salesman who seemed very disinterested in selling anything spoke with me the second one pulled the Explorer up for me to see. Not only was it extremely dirty on the outside(they have a dirt lot out back) the inside was embarrassing. There was round mold spots in the center console. Ok, no big deal until I looked over the rest of the vehicle. The sides of the seats and floors were covered in mold. I feel bad for whoever buys this gem. Great deal on the price. I went to Burrit Motors recently to purchase a 2017 new Buick Enclave they had advertised for $39,700. I asked to speak with the sales manager. I was told no one gets to speak with the sales manager, but you have to talk with a salesperson. I met with a salesperson, and after 20 minutes of him entering non-relevant info into his computer, I was told the best they could do was $42,400. I asked why I couldn't buy it for the advertised price. He said that was their way of getting people in, and the price was only if every possible rebate was available and the customer conformed with all the stipulations. Too bad for me. I then went to Summitt Buick-Chevrolet in Auburn and got the exact same car for $39,500. Burritt Motors are not friendly people to deal with. Their integrity is suspect at best. Stay away from this car dealer! I bought a $ 24,000 car here and despite it being covered under warranty they are refusing to fix it! Even after a legal judgement was placed on dealership , they are refusing to cover damages! We are going to continue to fight until dick burritt owns up to his responsibilities and pays up. Good price, Horrible service! Drove 116 miles 1 way to Oswego to buy a low mileage Ram truck. I only asked for it to be washed & waxed and have a full tank of gas. When I got there, the tank was only 1/4 full. The sales manager was an absolute jerk. He took poor customer service to a whole new level! He told me that it was company policy for used vehicles to have a quarter of a tank of gas in it when sold. In addition, I was only given 1 ignition key. It cost me $150 to have a new one programmed. Also, I was not given ANY touch-up paint for the body. Furthermore, my truck had cracked paint/fiberglass on the Roof within the first 9 months. I took it in to the delearship and they said it was NOT covered under warranty (only 26,000 miles) because it was previously repaired. Once again, the sales manager said there was Nothing he could do for me. Do NOT buy a vehicle there! Learn from my horrible experience. read more

I bought a vehicle from Burritt less than 2 months ago for $13,000. It was breaking down within 2 weeks. Burritt refused to accept any culpability and demanded I pay for the repairs. I was then called a liar by the "service manager". They were unable to find anything wrong with the vehicle in question, until I told them I had a REAL mechanic look at the vehicle( unbeknownst to them) and it had these problems. Downgraded from five to three because I took the vehicle I bought to my local repair shop and discovered that Burritt had put an inspection sticker on it when it should not have passed. The E-brake cable broke the first time I tried to use it and one of the tie rod ends was bad. I still had a great experience with the sales department, just a little disappointed with their service department. read more

I bought a car from them over a week ago. They called me and told me it was ready to go I went out there to find out that they lied to me and it would be ready till the next day. I went back out the next day it still wasn't done. They promised me it would be done that Thursday at the latest. Still no car! This Thursday will a week from that last Thursday that it was supposed to be done. They told me that they don't know when it'll be done. The sales person told me I'll get a hold of you tomorrow being Tuesday I never heard anything from him. This is by far the worst car buying experience for me. Because I was sold a car I can't even drive and it's been over a week since it was sold to me and all I get is a sorry and still no car. They got their money so they don't care about Making a customer happy. They can't even give me a day the car will be done...
