A week ago yesterday I called and left a message on the large item pick up recorded message for a pick up at my home for the upcoming Friday. On Thursday night my husband dragged the 2 Box Springs, Padded Bed Frame and rug to the curb. On Friday at 3:30pm the items had still not been picked up so I called the offices to see if the message was never received but I was assured that our pick up was on the route and that they will pick by 7 pm. So on Saturday morning I called again when the items had not been picked up but alas the Burrtec offices were closed. First thing Monday morning I called and one of Burttecs employees said that the items were not on the curb and I insisted they were as I have proof on my Ring Doorbell and they said someone would be by to pick them up that day, We have called the last 3 days and still no pick up. They still keep telling us the items aren't on the curb, I keep checking to see if they have the correct address and still no pickup. Why offer the service if you aren't going to provide the actual service. read more

If you need a bulky item picked up get a live operator. Do not leave a message for they never attend to them. Excuse is " we could not understand what was said ". Get a live operator and get a ticket number , otherwise you will be looking at that junk you requested them to pick up . read more

Burrtec is ridiculously inefficient. We are in Mountainview Country Club and the "service" from this company is TERRIBLE! The driver feels very powerful and refuses to take our garbage or recycling some weeks. Awful service!! read more

Why anyone would rate this company lower than 5 starts is a mystery, This is the only company of ANY kind in the Coachella Valley that you can set your clock to on pickup day. They are clean, efficient, as well as their drivers are friendly and helpful to some of the very senior residents. I have never found their office staff anything other than pleasant and professional. Whenever I order a special pickup it gets done. read more

This outfit really sucks. We recently purchased a house in Salton City and the day after we closed escrow I started service with Burrtec. I paid the first billing which was $50.00. The only thing they have done is drop off containers. Then I was sent another bill for $75.00! I still need to wrestle with them over that which included a month of service when we hadn't even closed escrow yet. To top it all off, we still have not had our trash picked up for a month now. Called customer service. It's apparent that doesn't exist. Nobody comes out after they assured us someone would. I should complain with the guy who's in charge of this outfit, but what for. The fish smells from the head back. The bottom line is they don't care. Why should they? They have their contract with Imperial County. There's no competition. So they are free to bill you and provide nothing. My next step is to file a complaint with the Imperial County Health Dept. read more

We recently moved to Rancho Mirage and were assigned Burrtec for trash and recycling. Without exception, every person with whom we have spoken has been personable, courteous, and has made an arguably sincere effort to assist. However, we have needed to contact them many times to either pick up something that was left behind, to ask why something was not picked up and was it our fault - did we use the wrong bin, and to confirm how many of which type of receptacle we have (this changes every time we call so we don't even bother to ask anymore). We have had the experience of having the driver AND the office tell us that something was too heavy to put into the truck, yet in front of the driver, my 5 foot wife picked up the can and loaded it into his truck herself. A manager was sent to our home after a discrepancy about discarding greens from the garden; the organic trash had not been picked up. The manager - also very patient with our questions - explained that the leaves and cuttings need to be loaded such that they do not stick up above the rim of the can. We thanked him and on we went, but later the office told us we do NOT have a bin for any organic materials from the garden. Last Thursday, before the holiday weekend, our garbage was again not picked up and the food waste, etc., has languished in the heat. The Burrtec recording goes on and on about how important health and safety is to their company. As a former epidemiologist, you do not need to convince me about our current health concerns and risks, but having food waste and household garbage sit in this heat for 3.5 days flies in the face of the content of the recording. The message also says "Thank you for choosing Burrtec." We didn't. They seem to be the only game in this area, and the inconsistent information and hit and miss service really should not be something we need to spend so much time managing. This has been a very frustrating experience for us. Thankfully, my wife is very strong. read more
