I purchased 65 thousand miles Kelly tires at the suggestion of Burt Brothers. 30 thousand miles later and there is nothing left of the tread! Burt Brothers refused to stand behind the product they sell. They explained there was nothing they could do for me and had no explanation for me only getting half of the life from the tire. They have the worst customer service and the lady at the Bountiful location was rude and very eager for me to just leave and buy my new tires somewhere else. Labor rates are higher and repair cost have steadily risen since even before Covid. Despite all that, Burt Brothers continues to "Do it Better". I would recommend them to anyone. Especially those that may have used them In the past and you have gone somewhere else and haven't been back in awhile. At the end of the day, they are the most trustworthy Tire & Repair facilities up and down the Wasatch front. Emilio is the bomb! This guy is awesome. I called around for tires they only make three, a winter, summer and all season. All by Bridgestone. So I started off with my goto tire shop, hillside tire they quoted me x amount, as did a few others that carried it, bmw 1.5x amount, and then Emilio hooked me up with the exact tires for ~200 less than the lowest amount offered I think it's a good working environment, everyone was happy and having a good time and they did a great job. Dropped my car off at 8am for a diagnostic service appointment. I didn't hear anything back all day so I had to call at 5pm for an update. They were unable to see my car and said they were going to look at it first thing the next day. I am not sure why they bothered to even accept my appointment if they were not going to be able to see my car all day. Very frustrated and disappointed, I will not be coming back. read more

Snitty's was bought by Burt Brothers. since then customer service and reliability have faltered. I have serviced all my vehicles at Smitty's for over 10 years. Since the buyout and terminating of all the Smitty's management both my services have been a disaster. Trent the new manager is incompetent. The first time I left my truck for the day to get an oil change. when I picked it up they notified me that I needed breaks. They never called me to get it done while the truck was sitting there all day. I decided to give them a second chance. I brought my truck back in to replace a fuel filter. I talked to Trent on the phone and set an appointment. After sitting here in the lobby for over two hours I asked what was happening. unbelievably, Trent ordered the wrong filter. If they can't get the basics down I have no faith in them actually providing the quality work I was accustomed to getting from Smitty's. I need to find a new shop! read more

I have attempted to use the Burt Brothers services twice and both times have been a horrible experience. A few years ago I went to the Riverton location to have my brakes serviced. I had a weird thing going on with my truck which would hesitate on acceleration at times. I asked Burt Brothers to see if they could diagnose the problem. I left my truck for a few hours and then received a phone call. It was explained to me that I needed a new transmission and a new throttle body. The cost on this would be around $4600. I told them to finish the brakes and I would worry about the rest later. I had a discussion with a friend of my son's who lives out of town but is a dealership mechanic. He told me all I needed was new spark plugs at a cost of a couple of hundred dollars. I had the plugs replaced and my truck ran like new. A few months ago I went to the Burt Brothers in Bountiful shopping for tires. Although the salesman rushed me and didn't act like he had time to deal with me I decided on some tires I liked and made an appointment for the next day to have them installed. It was emphatically explained to me that if I opened one of their credit accounts there would be a $200 rebate. So I did. I also asked them to check the brakes while they had the truck and let me know if they needed service. I would have it done if needed. I dropped my truck off the next day and didn't hear anything from them. I called about 2pm and I was told that my truck would be ready by 5pm. I asked about the brakes and the person on the phone told me he didn't know if they had been checked. I arrived at the shop about 4:30 and was told that my truck was ready. I was hurried through the process of payment, although they seemed very happy to take my money. I asked about the brakes and the young lady handed me a quote for $1400 for brakes and rotors. I asked why I hadn't been contacted about this and all I got was a blank stare. They asked when I wanted to schedule an appointment to have the brakes done. I made one for the next day with no intention of using it. Nothing else was explained to me. I know it is my own fault, but I "assumed" I would receive the rebate in the mail or it would be credited to my account. If the young lady would have made the effort to spend a little more time with me after my payment cleared, I would have cleared it up. After a couple of weeks I dropped by and asked about the rebate. I was told that I should have applied for it on a web site. I explained that I hadn't been told about any web site. I was then told that it was too late now... and they said there was nothing they could do. I left very unhappy. As a note, I was having my truck serviced at the dealership a couple of weeks later and asked them to check the brakes. They said the rotors were fine and it just needed pads. I had them do the work at a cost of about $600. Burt Brothers claims to be a family owned local business that cares about their customers and their needs. I totally disagree. They don't consider the customer at all and are just trying to get as much money as possible. read more

I was on my way from North SLC driving to Park City when my tire warning indicated I had a very low tire. I didn't want to risk driving up Parleys and pulled into the Burt Brothers Sugar House location. They looked really busy and I was in a hurry. They found a large nail in my tire. They got me in and out with a new tire within 35 minutes! The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and honest! Highly recommend! read more

My Tundra had an alignment at the Centerville Burt Brothers. It drove worse than when I took it in. The Farmington Burt Brothers agreed to fix the alignment and it began pulling to the other side. I took it in again and the alignment was still off. The Service Manager said that was all they could do for me, as everything was adjusted as far as it could go. That was not setting right with me so I took it to Mark Miller Toyota in Salt Lake and the alignment is now correct. I drove back to the Burt Brothers in Farmington and the Service Manager didn't have much to say when I told him my truck drove amazing. I asked the Manager why they couldn't have aligned it right. He just said, "I guess our machine needs re-calibrated." I felt very uncomfortable talking to him and just walked out. read more

I purchased tires from Burt Brothers and got a four wheel alignment. The tires had an 80,000 mile warranty. After less than 6000, 2 of them were into the tread wear marks. I had them rotated as often as they recommended and they did the Alignment yet they still would not stand behind the warranty! They are a horrible company! I have used a few different Burts locations over the years as I have lived in a few different areas of the Wasatch. I am sad to say service, turnaround time, and effectiveness has been a steady decline over the last few years and I cant justify ever going back. I am not confident they actually do the work they say they do, and their prices are significantly higher than average. When they say your car is next or 45 min wait, that could mean a few hours or few days (not due to extra repairs mind you). They have high volume and high turnover so things regularly fall through the cracks. They are always upselling you on maintenance, but often drop the ball on the reason/ issue that brought you in. You will have to track down your car yourself. They almost never call to tell you when your car is ready. Communication seems to be a longstanding issue. Sometimes they say its ready and I wonder if they even started it. read more

He immediately brought out a device that told us it was exhaust gas regurgitation and that we shouldn't have a problem getting home. He was very friendly and helpful. But when I arrive, I'm told I have to wait over an hour for a simple oil change (keep in mind we had a scheduled time) and you actually can't even do my tire rotation at all that day...??? And then you ask me to reschedule????? Why? You're not going to honor it. And you're not even going to let me know in advance (and before I leave work and drive over top your shop) that you're not going to honor the appointment time. Two weeks ago I went into sugar house location. TIres were bought on 4/20/22 by previous owner. (very importan factt in the beginning and end) Young lady at front told me they are too busy to check tire that day. I showed invoice, explained that tire is leaking air, that it needs to be looked at, it has 6000 miles on it. Finally she suggested to make appointment which I did, Provided all my info. Finally after two weeks I show for my appointment. It is not in system, could not be found. My response was - maybe better training should be provided. Frank Rodriguez responded: I can not find you if you are not in system, let me get your info, were you here before here? I responded: I was here two weeks ago and made appointment for today. His response before I finished mine was: but you never spend money at this location, are you this customer on invoice? I responded: No, I am not, I had this invoice two weeks ago when I made appointment. His: Well are you buying new tire then? I said: I do not know, can you check it, maybe it is under warrany or what is wrong with it. His: You did not buy these tires, you do not have warranty on these tires, we do not have transfearable warranty. Me: Ok, dont you think it would be better had I known that two weeks ago? Well, I guess this could be nice review. I continued: Are you bitter this morning, what is up with attitude? He replied: Are you bitter? Over him: I said looks like I will be. He continued much louder than before: You have some attitude! Do what you got to do maaan! I replied: I think I will. And I just chuckle ironically, kind of like smirk - to myself thinking,-where did I come. More likely than not, I think I rolled my eyes as well. His response: You know what?1 I can open door for you.!!!! I said: Perfect, very nice of you. He proceded and opened door for me to exit. So I did. Passing Frank, I asked for his first and last name, told him to have a good day, he told me: same to you. In my mind and behavior I do not think I was cinic, disrespetcfull, annoying, rasing voice, dismissing or bossy. I was surprised and that ironic smirk for sure with very possible teenager/kid eyeroll. This did not upset me much but made me determined to write this. I called, 888 number for burt brothers later, I have asked directly about tire warranty and was told it is not transferable. In any case, you are adult, looking for help, this is one place that did not work for me, if it works for you I am glad, if you could handle this better I salute you! I have worse opinion about all this but managed to not curse at Frank, there is no need for me to do here. As of 12/30/22 - walked into another place who checked out tire. Tire was fine, chrome is peeling on wheel. They removed peeled material, re installed tire. Also on back of tire there was glue that is used in shops for plugs, black like tar substance, somene put it around edge of wheel and tire which is visible once vehicle is in air, all around tire and wheel from under vehicle. I do not know who did that, does not look like average joe did it. I could tell you which place I went that helped me out but then that is not important. I was having a week from hell and it was only Wednesday! I had so much stress with a hurt dog and a late night and pricey emergency vet visit so to wake up to a flat tire was the icing in the cake. I was able to get my spare on and I called to see if they could look at my tire. They had me drop it off and told me they could patch the tire no problem. They were extremely quick and when I came to pick it up, they put my tire on and sent me on my way no charge. With the stress of the week, this small bit of kindness literally made me cry. Recently, I blew out a tire under warranty and it was replaced. I needed new summer tires and I got some great ones. My son's car was parked at the airport while he was on a business trip so I thought it would be fun to get it and see what service it needed. They gave me a ride to the airport and dropped me off by the parking shuttle. I got my son's car back to them, fixed the brakes, changed the oil and got new tires - he will be so happy. It could not have been easier and I am so grateful that they saved me riding on Trax all day and also fitting in both cars. We finally found them here- Alan, and the team are so far honest, and straight forward about what needs to be done or what isn't urgent. I did follow up with Jimmy as requested. They stood by their quote (unsurprisingly) and asked me to bring my car back in to prove it. After my experience with two other mechanics, reading reviews on Yelp/Google by other women and a suspiciously similar quote given to my friend, I do not trust Burt Brothers and will not spend anymore time on this rediculous quote. It is apparent that this company cares about their reputation, but after my first experience they have lost my business forever. In regards to Jeremy's comment, it is apparent that this company is missing the point. The only evidence they have is their own word, which for the reasons I've stated above is clearly not trustworthy, and therefore I have no reason to bring in my car. They also honored the free tire rotation warranty that comes with the tires, though the tires were purchased at a different store. The waiting area was spacious & clean. Great customer service! This will be the 2nd time that I've had Burt Brothers work on my car. The 1st time, my check engine light was on and before I took it to them it was in the hands of at least 2 other mechanics with no success and money down the drain. They fixed it. This go around, it's my ignition. I took it to the Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealership where I was extremely disappointed in their customer service, with that being said I was not going to give them Any of my business. So, I stoped by Burt brothers where Alan was more than happy to help. They were busy, as it was a Saturday afternoon. He took his time with me, got me up a quote/estimate for repairs and answered any questions I had. He had a fun personality/humor which made it even better. I would be wary of this place. The people I talked to seemed nice enough, but I went in to get my AC looked at and they quoted me a super high price to fix it. I took my car in to a different place to get a second opinion and they were able to fix my AC for $1000 less than what I was quoted here. They quoted me the price of each service with line item prices for labor and for parts, and their actual price actually came in lower than their estimate! In addition, their customer service was very good. Randy, the technician that helped me, was very knowledgeable and confident in his ability to take care of my truck. They did a great job, gave me great honest advice, and I got a ride to and from the shop so that I didn't have to worry about transportation. I am confident that the repair was done correctly, and that everyone who works there is honest.I am definitely coming back to this place. read more

My car was in and out of their shop for probably about two months after spending a ridiculous amount of money that I could've used to just buy a new car. One of the many examples of my negative experience was them saying that my car would be finished many days before they finally called, and when they did call and say that the car was actually finished they told me 3 hours after it was supposed to be dropped off that the check engine light was on again and they would have to keep it for another week. After taking it in for the 4th time, I thought I was all good to go after getting the HEAD of the company involved. The check engine light finally turned off and everything seemed fine. Where to start? I've been going to this location for years with my vehicles for inspections,alignment and select auto needs. I've always had ok experience with a few employees from this location Jimmy the manager has always been helpful on some things but not on this last visit! So other issues include one (Corolla) over six hours for a inspection never moved from where we parked it and just before closing it was done? Second (Tundra) a/c drier and re-charge dash had chemical burn from tech touching interior for no reason! Third (Matrix) there for four hours to get an alignment that was never performed! had to have done at another shop! And fourth (Venza) I had a situation w/oil cooler lines dealer I bought from took care of the cost for these lines and a oil change for my vehicle. We'll thanks to only Jessie he took great care of my Venza and made sure after Me,the dealer and the shop were on the same page paperwork wise they fixed the issue. Had to come back for leak check was told the new line's were leaking!? On the other day came back having to deal with the useless BOB six hours later whatever they did? Having Jimmy check it out I noticed that the oil filler metal baffle was bent and I know that was not I did fill the engine w/oil before the 3rd to get the vehicle up there to get the lines fixed! After talking to Jimmy about this issue and having him look at this his works before I brought it in were "we done use oil guns we use oil plastic cans so we don't make a mess"? After he look at the issue he was very cold and as telling me I was blaming them for all the issues with my Venza! I'm only blaming them for the issues they caused working on the vehicle as well as the interior damage w/ greasy foot prints on the door kick plate as well as the seats,console,dash and door panel! Which I had to detail myself! So reviewing the video after he said "we don't use oil guns" the video clearly shows the tech using the oil gun! First lie and after that Jimmy just won't take the blame for there damage for the Venza,Tundra! So on this final note don't trust these people when there's Bob still there and there staff always changing and Jimmy should only be a salesman and not a manager and I've seen the circus act that's there with kids playing instead of working on customers vehicles! So this will be the last time any of my vehicles are worked on as well as family and friends! So your talking about my four as well as 25 other vehicle's that your losing money on for your negligent actions this includes this Jason from corporate who is taking there side and not the customers!? I would avoid going to this shop at any cost. Find somewhere else where you are treated with respect and professionalism and where you won't get ripped off. The manager at this location "Jimmy " is very rude and unprofessional and condescending and will overcharge you enormously. I recently bought a set of tires from this shop and I Purchased the accident and damage protection replacement plan. On New Year's Day I had a bowout on I-15 and my front driver's side tire exploded. I had my truck towed to this shop so I could get the tire replaced. I also needed a new rim which I was not surprised by since the rim would definitely have been damaged on the road. When it came time for me to pay I was told I was required to pay almost $400.00. I explained that I had spoken with my insurance company and they had sent me emails and screen pictures in their app that stated they had obtained an estimate for the repairs from the shop and that the payment for what was not covered by my deductible was being sent to them. I showed all of this to Jimmy and he replied "we're not a full auto body shop so we don't work with insurance companies much so how are they paying then? By check? By direct deposit? How are we going to get paid?" He also stated that he had "no record of anyone speaking on the phone" yesterday either so when I got home I called my insurance company yet again and they stated "actually we have on our records the person we spoke to and the time and date and what was discussed and the estimate we obtained from the employee at the shop. So if He's saying we didn't get an estimate or talk on the phone we have a mountain of proof to the contrary." Jimmy was too busy telling me that he was doing me a favor by "giving me the new tire for free!" Even though I paid for the accident and damage protection when I bought the tires, and about how much the rim cost and how he wasn't getting enough money for the job. My insurance company then called the shop immediately to talk to Jimmy and find out why he was saying no one had talked to them about the job. My insurance company indeed had spoken to them and had gotten an estimate and had the notes in the file and they were sending payment. I'm not even so much concerned about the money in this case but rather the way that this shop treats people. It's not my fault if you don't know how to work with insurance companies and don't tell me no one talked to anyone on the phone because they did and my insurance company has the proof. read more

I've come here for the past year and a half for my oil changes and on multiple occasions they have attempted to make me pay for unnecessary fixes. Surprise surprise, right? I'm a college girl and it's safe to assume that I don't know much about cars. Luckily, my dad knows his stuff and today I am thankful I had him come to my rescue. During a standard oil change, they completely broke my oil filter casing when they took it off. It was clear from how it broke that it was from too much pressure being applied to this plastic piece from a metal wrench and a "strap" that they kept mentioning - clearly this was removed by somebody who fairly inexperienced. the manager told me that the piece was on too tight - K, remember how they are the ones who put it on last? If it's too tight then that was their doing. It's evident that when dealing with anything, too much force is always a bad idea. My dad was explaining to them, with the part in his hand, how they removed it incorrectly. The manager kept saying "What do you want me to do?" And my dad replied that he wanted them to help his daughter and own up to their mistakes. Clearly that did NOT happen and now I'm literally stuck here and have to pay $106.00 and the cost of my oil change because of a mistake they made. It seems to me that this particular Burt's brothers location is quite money-hungry. From now on I will only go to the Holladay location. They are always more friendly, helpful, and honest. Love the company but loathe this particular Burt's brothers location. This location tarnishes the gold customer service reputation that this company has worked so hard to earn. Take your car to the Holladay Burt's Brothers location. I'm so serious. Update!!! As I checked out, the manager split the cost of the part they broke. This helped but they should have mentioned that when we were discussing options because I say there for another half hour just being upset about the money I would be spending for their mistake.
