A nice respite spot, you may even see eagle's soaring along with the gulls and Turkey Buzzards that frequent the skies there.

I was the only person booked for that morning. She could have easily canceled and said there weren't enough people booked, but she did not, which I appreciated. I had my own personal tour guide, Henrik. He did a great job telling some historical facts and stories about the area. I grew up in rural Niagara County, and he had some stories I had never heard before. Henrik was an excellent guide. The views were amazing. It was so peaceful out on the river. I fell in love with kayaking after that tour. I highly recommend booking a tour through Niagara Outfitters.

Very busy place year round if the following events are active: northern lights [aurora], meteor showers, visible comets, etc. You get the idea. Just PLEASE don't trash the lake. If you have something, put it aside in a closed bucket etc, and get rid of it later after leaving the area. Teach the young ones to NOT play close to the pier edge, and if they have trash, to dispose of it properly. There are many nearby houses/homes. Noise and voices carry during the day and especially at NIGHT. Please be respectful of others and keep your voice low. The appearance of the harbor area, pier and surrounding areas reflect on the town of Wilson and its residents; please act responsibly, don't trash the pier areas and waters, and be a responsible user of the area to keep it clean and usable for others. Nobody likes coming to a harbor area and pier to see food/cups, cigarettes, and general trash in the water and on the ground. If you fish on the pier, please keep track of your gear and fishing hook. How you act and leave the area(s) reflect not only on you and others, but affects the whole town of Wilson!

Quiet and secluded trails leading to picturesque hidden ponds. Wide enough for two skiing side by side in some spots. Meandering trails keep you out of the wind that can be bitter cold out in the open areas (like where frisbee golf is). Many birds flying through the trees, robins, blue jays and hawks too. Plenty of parking and nicely plowed. Fun!

Finally made it out to a couple of other trails, and I'm making up for lost time. I've been to Swallow Hollow twice in the past few weeks. It might be closed at the moment. I thought Google Maps was just mistaken, but when my son and I reached the boardwalk going counter clockwise, we had to cross a couple downed trees that broke part of it. Didn't remember there being a bad windstorm after my first visit. Anyway, it's a 1.3 mile loop through marshland and forest. Very pretty. You can easily hit more than one trail in the area for more of a challenge.

Also the path has been extended in recent years with a share the road path through LaSalle from the LaSalle waterfront park connecting to Cayuga Road at Buffalo Avenue so you don't have to ride on Buffalo Ave. And other connections have been made to help keep bicycles off the road along River Road from Buffalo Ave. all the way to Gratwick Park in North Tonawanda. This makes a safe ride for me. I can go for miles and miles on paths or marked roads. Wonderful!!!
