After being stood up by a couple of the larger fence companies, I was getting frustrated and started making new calls to have my fence replace. I went with Burton Fencing because first off, they answered the phone right away. The gal on the phone was very professional and pleasant to talk too. She set me up with an appointment by Matt (I think.). He was very clear and precise in the estimate process. He was also able to get me in pretty quickly considering how busy they are right now. The Crew arrived when they said they would. Despite our neighbor having a bunch of "junk" next to the fence not leaving any room except on our side of the property line, the crew did a nice job of removing the old and installing the new fence. I can't see the neighbors side of the fence, but my side looks great. Of course the new fence looks better, but the area around the fence also looks better than before. They cleaned up their work nicely and then some. Even though it was over 100°F while they were working, they took the time to do it right. I would recommend giving them a call. Burton Fencing present good pricing and they start and finish the job fast, too fast. In rushing the job they miss some items and do not finish the job properly. Our sidewalk is sagging after they finished without proper back fill around the posts. We tried to call them for additional work and estimate but they never responded and do not return calls. In conclusion, unfortunately, I do NOT recommend Burton Fencing. read more

Had a 10:00 a.m. appointment with Burton Fencing for a fence estimate. He did not show up. No phone call; no apology.

I used Burton Fencing to replace a portion of my fence on my property in 2/2015. During the process Jerrid was responsive and very helpful however toward the end of the project I became aware the Jerrid and his brother Matt had split ways. To make a long story short I discovered that Jerrid did not have a contractors license or any type of insurance while he and his workers built the fence. In addition, since Jerrid was representing a company that he had no part of his brother Matt wouldn't honor the warranty that was on the contract I signed with Burton Fencing because he didn't do the work. In the end, I paid contractors prices for a handyman to build me a fence and I have no warranty on my fence if anything was to happen. In the future I wouldn't recommend either brother's company because I don't think either brother knows how to run a company effectively. read more

We got quotes from three local companies for the installation of a new fence, two walk through gates and a gate on the driveway. All three quotes were fairly close in price. The first thing that stood out about the quote that Jerrid from Burton gave us was that he was going to fabricate the frame for the gate at our driveway out of steel and have it powder coated. The other contractors were going to frame the gate with wood. Jerrid also called to follow up with us after leaving the quote. His was the only follow up call the we got out of the three. Jerrid came out and met with us to walk through and discuss what we wanted before the crew came out to get started. The built a beautiful 8" board on board fence with hand made square lattice and really great looking gates and arbors. They installed copper caps on the fence posts and even made sure that there were no openings anywhere for our two small dogs to get out. We couldn't be happier with the new fence. We would recommend Burton to anyone looking for a new fence. Great quality, fair pricing and Jerrid is very thoughtful and pleasant to work with. What a great experience! read more

I was scheduled to have Burton Fencing replace fences at my house this week. When no one had shown up by mid-day Tuesday, I contacted the owner, Jerrid. He explained that he and his brother, the co-owner of the company, had parted ways the previous Friday and that he had meant to call me but had been really busy. He went on to explain that his brother had a contractor's license, but Jerrid didn't so he would be unable to do the work. He said he was working on getting his own license and was still interested in my job. I am making an assumption here, but the brother is probably retaining the business since he has the contractor's license. If that's the case, he should have shown up to do my job, and at the very least, one of these former partners should have contacted me over the weekend if they couldn't be here this week. They were also scheduled to replace fences at a neighbor's home this week and didn't have the courtesy to contact her either. In the meantime, I've contacted other fencing companies who will come out for estimates in 3-4 weeks and whose schedules are already booked up over the next 4 months. read more

I do not recommend Burton Fencing. They do not clean after the installation; left mound of dirt and trash after the installation,and punctured underground lawn irrigation pipe. Couple months after the installation, the gate door plank came off. I could not get Burton to come back to cleanup or fix the door. All I heard from the "owner" was Jerrod was fired and no longer work for Burton. This was a shock, Jerrod told me he was the owner. Apparently Jerrod is related to Burton owner. You would think since Jerrod worked and represented Burton they would stand by their work, Nope. Very bad service, I would stay away from Burton. read more

Recently had a ranch style fence rebuilt, then the wind blew down another fence with latticework so portions of that had to be replaced. All of this went very well. Finally we engaged Burton to do a gate refurbishment. After multiple phone calls to the company at which time they reassured us that they were making arrangements to proceed with that project, there was never any action to do same, and gates still awake refurbishment. Very peculiar considering company's previous excellent performance. Left us wondering if something untoward had happened to owner. Addenda: just saw review which detailed issues between 'brother' owners. That would be about the same time they were working for us and failed to follow through with gate refurbishment. I should add that jerrid had acknowledged that our fence needed paint touch up but that was never done. read more

We interviewed several fence company's before deciding to use Burton Fencing. They not only did a phenomenal job on install and used great material but over a year later we called about a gate repair and they immediately came out. They repaired our gate and did not charge us. I have worked in the new home industry and with construction for 19yrs. Definitely quality work...I would 100% recommend. I found out in June of 2014 that we needed to move quickly. I could not even get the larger companies out to see me before the end of summer. Victor, Matt's brother came out to do the fence. It was done in less than 5 hours. They did a great job, we are very happy with their work. The brothers are really nice guys, professional. Jarid stands by his work. I had an issue with the metal gate, Jarid was responsive and cleaned everything up, working like new. He showed only after calling to make sure it was ok to do so. I have tried to make contact with this company through their magazine advertisement in Home Concepts three times. I was assured through the operator that someone will call me back, but never has. Then I found their number in Yahoo and called direct. The lady was new but assured me someone would call ASAP. After two calls to this number, no one has gotten back to me either. Burton Fence replaced 118 feet of fence including two gates in our yard and the result is excellent. From the start I really felt Jerrid wanted and valued our business. He had some good ideas and recommendations for us during the planning. Then when the project started, we had a few unexpected kinks come up and I appreciated how easy it was to resolve those. Matt and his brother Victor were great! I left my information on Burtons web page and received a message in about one hour. I replied to Matt's message and explain my situation. They were out same day and fixed our gate in less than 1 hour. Our gate broke after a wind storm because the company that built it, did not make the cane bolt hole deep enough to hold the gate. I contacted the previous company several times to try and get it fixed with no avail. I am so happy I contacted Burton Fencing and I would recommend there services to anyone. Burton Fencing came out to my house in Lafayette to repair my back gate and to pressure wash and stain that part of my fence. At that time I would have given them at least a 4 star rating. I liked the job. I then asked for a quote for the rest of my fence and my pergola as well as repairing my retaining wall. They never returned my calls or email. I am very disappointed since I also referred them to my neighbor, who also did not get a response. What has happened to good old customer service? read more

Can I give less??? Matt Burton came over and gave us a bid. He was congenial and we felt confident he would handle our job well. A few days later, I called his land line to tell him we wanted him to do the job. No one called back and I should have taken that as a "sign". Instead, I called again and to make a long story short his wife apologized and scheduled our job a few weeks down the road on a Monday. As we were going on vacation shortly before they were to do the job, I called before we left to confirm our job date and said we would be away thinking we might miss a confirmation call. I did not hear back and received no messages from when we were gone. On the Friday before our scheduled Monday job date I again left a message, this time on Matt's cell phone, reconfirming they would be here on Monday as scheduled. We NEVER received a call and, guess what, no one ever showed up. Its been several days now and we have not heard from Matt or his wife at all. No apology, nothing. This is a lousy way to do business. If, for some reason, he decided to decline our very straight forward job, a call would not have been asking too much. If he had met with an accident his wife could have called. If...
