He said yes so at that point, the enhancements weren't really optional because my line-up was not crispy at all. It needed CPR! Unfortunately, even after the enhancements, I still wasn't satisfied. When you get out of a barber's chair, you're supposed to leave with a fresh cut and a confidence boost. I left feeling worse than when I walked in and somehow my $30 haircut turned into $50. But let me tell you, the first guy took 45 min, second guy was 75 min in and still going by the time I left. The first barber (light-skinned latino) took 45 min, worked hard and did an excellent job on an older man. Honestly, while I waited and saw him work, I wanted my cut with him. Unfortunately he left to go inside their building and was replaced by this young black haired latino. He was working on this guy who walked in with a Phil Foden cut and 75 min in, largely unchanged but with a clean trim on the sides. (There was hardly any hair on the ground ) One reason his cut was taking so long was this barber was too busy live-streaming on his phone, occasionally looking at peoples' comments. It also didn't help he was cutting at a snail's pace. It's one thing to be attentive to detail (something the first barber was good at). It's another to just go hair by hair. Bad for business, wasting peoples' time, so much that I don't feel like stopping by the actual shop. Hope the business sees this and if they do, please let me know the name of that guy. If I ever do stop by, I'd like to avoid him at all cost.

After checking them out online and on Instagram I called and made an appointment with Mario. There is plenty of metered street parking in the area. Some in front of the building that the shop is in and there's also a metered lot to the right of the building. Finos is located on the second floor of the building. Theres a door leading to the stairs located next to Franks Burgers. Go up the stairs and turn left once you reach the top. The vibe in the shop is very laid back. There was music playing at a reasonable level and the whole shop is well lit. Mario is really cool and he offered me a complimentary beverage (soda or beer). I opted for a soda since I drove myself. Now on to the cut and overall experience. Mario took time consulting with me to figure out the best cut for me. I shared what I had in mind down to the guides I preferred and how close I wanted thebcut to be. Once he got started with the cut we had a really cool conversation about everything from sports to family to travel, etc. Throughout the entire conversation Mario was cutting and detailing to make sure everything was perfect. When he was done I was extremely happy! This is easily the best haircut I've had in years at a barbershop! The price was fair, only $60 for a haircut and beard trim. I actually had him do a fade on my beard too. It's a new look for me, but I like the end result. Mario earned a new client and I look forward to coming back in 2 weeks for my next cut.

The grooming lounge (2 floors) is extraordinary with the historic memorabilia and art hanging on rich, dark brown - mahogany wood walls, you'd expect in a stately law firm. There are grooming samples at the front door, a men's clothing shop, and other services all under one roof (Brian gave me a tour). The mood, music, comfy couch/chairs, and wall mounted flat screen TVs made you feel like you were stepping into a major city salon with all the comforts of home. I was Brian's guest (not customer) and it felt like it. Brian focuses his attention on your grooming, conversation, and nothing else. His approach is methodical without being mechanical. You can tell he thought out every detail of your cut, asks the right questions, and engages you in light, meaningful conversation that helps you connect, which is important between a man and his stylist. Your hair cut looks great, after the highly anticipated flourish to every haircut with an essential oil (can't tell all the details - you have to try it for yourself - it's amazing). You leave feeling like someone took the time to provide you more than a hair cut - DC Homme gives you an experience, which is worth the $35 - $40. Yes, I could go back to paying $27 for a hair cut, but I have more appreciation for finer things in life such as the high degree of professionalism, atmosphere, conversation, and genuine care Brian and his colleagues put into their guest's experience that's definitely worth the $8 - 15 difference (Exceptional Experience Fee). Why would I go anywhere else? And, if you are man - neither should you.

Located right in the same plaza as Giant, practically next door, this is a nice, kind of…read moreneighbourhood barbershop, and a big upstep from any of the nearby chains. The place is clean, the staff friendly, and the haircuts are good. I try to stop in whenever I need a haircut. However, one small word of warning: the place is cash only. They have an ATM on site, but it's one of the more expensive ATMs I've ever used -- the fee is $3.75 (and my bank then charges another $2.50 on top), so I have to add an extra $6.25 to my haircut price. :( They don't have any signage up saying, "Welcome to 1964, we're cash only," and finding out -after- you've gotten a haircut leaves you only the option of using their expensive machine. Also, NGL.... it is 2025. I've seen buskers with signs that accept card. Nobody carries cash anymore, and there's no legit reason to not accept cards. Pass that extra 3% or whatever on to me, it'd still be cheaper than the ATM fee.
