But let me tell you, the first guy took 45 min, second guy was 75 min in and still going by the time I left. The first barber (light-skinned latino) took 45 min, worked hard and did an excellent job on an older man. Honestly, while I waited and saw him work, I wanted my cut with him. Unfortunately he left to go inside their building and was replaced by this young black haired latino. He was working on this guy who walked in with a Phil Foden cut and 75 min in, largely unchanged but with a clean trim on the sides. (There was hardly any hair on the ground ) One reason his cut was taking so long was this barber was too busy live-streaming on his phone, occasionally looking at peoples' comments. It also didn't help he was cutting at a snail's pace. It's one thing to be attentive to detail (something the first barber was good at). It's another to just go hair by hair. Bad for business, wasting peoples' time, so much that I don't feel like stopping by the actual shop. Hope the business sees this and if they do, please let me know the name of that guy. If I ever do stop by, I'd like to avoid him at all cost.

After checking them out online and on Instagram I called and made an appointment with Mario. There is plenty of metered street parking in the area. Some in front of the building that the shop is in and there's also a metered lot to the right of the building. Finos is located on the second floor of the building. Theres a door leading to the stairs located next to Franks Burgers. Go up the stairs and turn left once you reach the top. The vibe in the shop is very laid back. There was music playing at a reasonable level and the whole shop is well lit. Mario is really cool and he offered me a complimentary beverage (soda or beer). I opted for a soda since I drove myself. Now on to the cut and overall experience. Mario took time consulting with me to figure out the best cut for me. I shared what I had in mind down to the guides I preferred and how close I wanted thebcut to be. Once he got started with the cut we had a really cool conversation about everything from sports to family to travel, etc. Throughout the entire conversation Mario was cutting and detailing to make sure everything was perfect. When he was done I was extremely happy! This is easily the best haircut I've had in years at a barbershop! The price was fair, only $60 for a haircut and beard trim. I actually had him do a fade on my beard too. It's a new look for me, but I like the end result. Mario earned a new client and I look forward to coming back in 2 weeks for my next cut.

I heard several recommendations for a few stylists here & not too far from home. I chatted with someone on phone, told them what I was looking for in a stylist's skill set & they recommended 2, both happened to already be on my list of 4 from here. I took a stab, picked 1 & made an appointment. Easy scheduling My experience was that the overall parking lot was a zoo at midday. I have a large vehicle & made circles 1.5 times. Entry to parking lot fools you when you 1st pull in, the small shopping center with all staff parking is very empty when rest of lot had only 3 spaces available. I found out, there's another side lot but only accessible from separate entrance off Georgia Avenue. Ive noted for next time. Upon entering, the salon looks nice, lots of stations as pictures showed and the front desk staff are very friendly, greeted me with smiles & acknowledged me right away. They had me sit in waiting area in front as stylist was finishing a client and I was a few minutes early. I waited a little bit, no big deal, and my stylist came and introduced themselves and took me back so we could discuss what I was looking for. After that, a wonderful shampoo & scalp massage. Heavenly & enough time provided, didn't feel rushed. Back in the chair & cutting began with sectioning & clipping hair up, then started with nape & worked a little on top sides. When stylist was almost done, had me check the back to make sure short enough, it wasn't, so more cutting. I appreciated being conservative & checking in, then going back to lift more length. I checked in the mirror again and felt length was good. Added some gel & that was it. OH! Mind you my hair is still wet. Luckily it is summer so I didn't mind, but this is 1st time I've left a salon with wet hair & not feeling complete. Now maybe we didn't communicate fully, maybe stylist planned to dry my hair, maybe not, but in talking I had mentioned I never blowdry my hair, which we talked about & isnt best for your hair & I let it dry naturally. So, maybe that influenced not drying my hair. I didn't fully mind except that I couldn't see a glamorous, LOL, but mainly professional ending & hair appointments are my only opportunity & treat to myself. What i also didn't know until now, after-the-fact, they do offer options for just cut & wash without blowdry at a lesser cost. So, I did save $. If I knew beforehand, or someone explained, I would have requested a completed style with drying. Because we talked the entire time and stylist was SUPER personable, I was distracted & on way home started wondering, did my left side get touched? Did I even get a fresh trim all around which I needed? It was 13 weeks since my last haircut & always feels nice when hair is freshly trimmed. OR did stylist only work on the main point of the nape being too long & top looking heavy, which was what I mentioned as main dislikes currently? I did bring a picture of myself t9 show what I wanted & liked about prior styling in the back. Once I got home, hubby said the back was uneven, longer on 1 side than other. He took a picture so I could see. Lucky he can cut a straight line, so he fixed. But next morning when I washed & let hair dry, the sides of my hair didn't look completely even & ends still looked needing a fresh trim. I guess my wonderingon my journey home was correct. I'm good at cutting my own hair, so next hair wash, I trimmed a little to even up sides & get a fresh cut on sides. SO, would I return? Definitely! I have options of repeat try or 3 others at this salon who were recommended. I'm willing & should return to try others as I overall had good experience. Everyone was very nice there & if I can get better parking option, definitely worth a 2nd visit. AND every customer that left appeared to be regulars & appeared very happy & looked great. Please know that they take credit for service, but tips have to be cash or Venmo only.

I called around 10:00 AM to ask if there were any appointments available today and what their latest appointment time was. The employee who answered told me they had a 7:30 PM appointment available, so I booked it. Around 10:30 AM, I received a text reminder saying my appointment was for 6:30 PM. Since that was NOT the time I scheduled, I called the store back within 30 minutes. The employee who answered confirmed that the system showed me scheduled for 6:30 PM. I explained that I had originally booked 7:30 PM, and she said, "Oh, but I see that you're scheduled at 6:30, but I can move your time to 7:30 if you want." I told her yes, because that was the time I had originally requested. She then CONFIRMED that she was moving my appointment to 7:30 PM. I should have known something was wrong when I received another text at 6:03 PM about an appointment supposedly scheduled for 6:30 PM, but I assumed their automated system was delayed because I had already spoken with an employee and had my appointment time confirmed as 7:30 PM. I arrived at the store at 7:20 PM for my 7:30 appointment, only to be told that my appointment was actually at 6:30 PM and that the stylist I was supposedly scheduled with already had another client at 7:30 and could not see me. I explained everything that had happened that morning, including that I had called twice and specifically had the appointment time corrected. What makes this even more frustrating is that when I walked in, there were employees sitting around with no clients, chatting, and one employee even had time to wash her own hair. Yet I was told there was nothing they could do and that I could not be seen that day. I drove 30 minutes to this location based on the appointment time that THEIR employee confirmed for me. I understand that mistakes happen, but this was not just a simple scheduling mistake. I called back, brought the incorrect time to their attention, and was specifically told that my appointment was being moved to 7:30 PM. The correction simply was not properly handled. Very unprofessional and extremely unorganized. I wasted my time, gas, and entire evening because of an error that could have easily been avoided. If you make an appointment here, I strongly recommend confirming the exact time before you leave and, if possible, getting written/text confirmation of the appointment time. I definitely will not be returning.
