We had a great time at Tick Tock. The room was challenging, the puzzles interesting, the hostess super friendly and helpful. We did the race rooms, two identical rooms where two teams can compete against each other and the clock. We decided to pit the guys against the girls. An unfortunate decision, as the girls in our group are a cohesive force of lateral thinking while the guys are your basic gang of idiots. We all managed to have fun anyway. read more

This was our first time doing an escape room at this facility. We did the Legacy of the Dragon room and really enjoyed it. Most escape rooms we have done have many locks to open. This room didn't have a single lock, so I liked that it was different from others we have done. We needed 2 extra minutes, but with that little bit of extra time we did manage to escape. It was a fun time with our niece who we were visiting for the Thanksgiving holiday. Doing an escape room with her has sort of become a tradition, so we will be back again next year to escape from another room. read more

We were there this afternoon, and the batteries on a safe were going out, so the safe wouldn't open. We'd had the correct code for a long time, but the person in charge of the room didn't realize it until after our time was up. It was super frustrating. He gave us extra time before he realized the safe wasn't working. That probably wouldn't have been necessary, and it just kept us frustrated for a longer period of time. We had the code long before our time was up, and we spent a lot of time feeling frustrated because we thought we were idiots and could not figure out how to get another code to try. This experience was a Christmas gift for my cousins. When people spend nearly $150 for an experience for an hour, you need to make sure that everything is working correctly. read more

Had the chance to visit the Tick Tock Escape Room this past Thursday with my 7 Summer interns, and we had a blast. First off, I was grateful that the customer service team allowed us to wait for the last member of our team to arrive, who ended up getting lost on the way. Upon his arrival, it was simple process to get started; everyone scans a QR code and complete a digital waiver; which takes a matter of seconds and from there you're ready to begin! As a group we did the Central Intelligence room because it allows up to 10 people for the mission. Now I will tell you 5 of the 7 interns are soon to be engineers and this mission was CHALLENGING;, we barely made it out in time, with about 7 minutes to spare. From our arrival to our departure the staff was very friendly and accommodating. This experience did not disappoint. We did the Pyramid Paradox, and even though the spoken preface to the puzzle room worried me (if the puzzles need that much explaining were we in over our heads?), the experience turned out excellent. Just escaped Pyramid Paradox. I've done about 30 escape rooms and this is by far my favorite. The theatrics and special effects were amazing. High quality. Truly did feel like we were in a movie. Very challenging puzzles but not impossible. Suggestion: if you are bringing children to do an escape room (we often do them with our 10 and 14 year old), I'd choose the Beasley Billions room (a more traditional hunt for keys/codes room) only because this one didn't have much for my 10 year old to do and she was scared by the special effects. read more

Couldn't wait to come back, so I didn't! Came back with a group of friends to try the other room... Pyramid Escape. The 8 of us had a blast. There were a few technical difficulties and pieces of the room that hadn't been totally re-set after the last game, but Megan was sweet to help sort it out and stop the clock while doing so. I won't spoil the fun, but at a certain point we triggered something awesome and I had to audibly exclaim "this is even better than I imagined!"... yeah, I'm nerdy, but this place is Heaven for puzzle solvers. Very very fun. Wish there were more games here, now that I've played both, all I can do is refer others to the pleasures that await. read more

This is a little place that doesn't look like much but it is so much fun. The room we did was one of the hardest they had available and it was awesome. They didn't really give a lot of clues at first which is what made it interesting. After finding that first clue we got rolling but going in without much knowledge beforehand made it challenging. Now, I have only done two escape rooms in my day, but I was so impressed with this one, I had to come back and write a review after I completed another room in the Kansas City area. With another experience to compare this one to, I could really tell how great Tick Tock was. First of all, the clues were really creative. I liked that the problems that we needed to solve were intuitive but were outside of the box. I wouldn't have thought of those ways of providing information-- very creative and well done. The room itself was made of high quality items, so I felt like I was in a real home, searching for real clues, to an extent. I appreciated that there weren't red-herrings, in my memory. I think that those can be frustrating to a puzzle-player. The items that we missed (and needed hints for) were things that we could have figured out on our own-- we didn't need the clues to get through it, so I appreciated that the game was self-sufficient in that way. I did this as a work-event, with my co-workers. We didn't know each other well and didn't need to in order to get the puzzle solved. There were 8 of us in the room and we each were able to contribute. If I get to do another escape room, I would like it to be either a Tick Tock room, or as good as a Tick Tock room :) read more

We recommend booking a game during the day, not at night. We went for a late night game and it was clear the staff was ready to go home. Upon our arrival I asked what time did they close and was told "whenever you're done, take your time." Well the lie detector test revealed that was a lie. We were having a great time but admittedly we were growing frustrated with the game... It is challenging! But with less than 10 minutes to go the game master entered the room and began rushing us through the game. He started giving us clues that we didn't ask for, instructing us where to look, but most frustrating was him cleaning up the room while we were still working! It was so distracting and unprofessional. My husband tried his best to remain calm but I was over it. I even asked the guy to leave the room at some point. It was my husband's birthday and we left feeling like we inconvenienced them even though we were the customer. No sooner than we walked out they were hurriedly cleaning the front area so they could leave. Not a good business practice for a new company with so many other competitors in the area. Bottom line: fun, challenging room but don't book the later games. Customer service needs improvement. read more

I have never been to an Escape Room, but we have been talking about doing it for a few weeks at work, as a team building exercise. As fate would have it, I was fortunate enough to be invited to an event here. I didn't know it even existed in Overland Park, KS. Now I know and so should you. The room I experienced was creatively put together. Animation, lights, smoke and even temperature change! (I will not go into too much detail as not to spoil it for anyone). The puzzles were varied enough that every person in the room was given the opportunity to contribute. Not one person on our team of six felt left out or inadequate. I didn't even know the people I was in the room with and it was a blast! A few of them were experienced and they found it challenging enough for their enjoyment. Yet, I was new and I really didn't feel overly challenged. The folks that work there were very accommodating and their participation with us wasn't overly done or under done. They can alter the rooms to fit your family, based on the age of your children. Just give them a call ahead of time. Parking was easy. If you're looking for an Escape Room experience I highly recommend this place. The folks I was locked in the room with, who have been to other Escape Rooms told me they would recommend it. read more

Nothing but fun. I've done both the Beasley's Billions & Pyramid Paradox, both were excellent experiences & so well-run. On my last visit, I managed to book at such a slow time (Tuesday evening's last slot, for the record) that we were the only ones in the place... just two of us. So we got to do the room with just two, which let me assure you is a lot harder than doing a room with six or eight people all shouting out ideas. The gamemaster put a little extra time on the clock for us, and was generous with the hints, which seemed fair. (They want you to finish!) The rooms themselves seem to be designed by someone who secretly wants to do Hollywood movie sets... they are richly detailed, with so much going on... lights! smoke! secret passages! ... you're just about guaranteed to get caught up in the story. I've been here twice, and absolutely LOVED the Pyramid room. I've done 15+ escape rooms around the country and it's my favorite out of any escape room anywhere. But I'm putting 3 stars because I just finished the Space Force and it's one of my LEAST favorite I've ever done... Like tied for worst. There's a segment near the beginning with a space battle and it was frustrating and clunky to navigate and use the controls. We got shot over 100 times and were told that's "average." I'm a gamer and it took us a third of our time to just do the dumb fight. It was so bad that I had trouble enjoying the entire rest of the experience, even though there are some cool surprises. I left disappointed for the money spent. That being said, the other rooms are GREAT. Space Force is cool in concept but executed really poorly. Pick another room! read more

When my group of friends and I were split up into our separate rooms to compete a majority of the puzzles that were in our room were already solved or left open. This lead our team to mix up the order of steps or skip them entirely. The amount of chaos due to an improperly reset room got so bad that an employee actually had to come in and help us. By the end of our time, even though we were already 15 minutes over the original 60, the employee had to outright tell us the finishing code so we could get out in time. After we got out we found out the other room had experienced just as much trouble with the puzzles to the need of employee help as we had. Though I'm sure not every experience is like this, be forewarned that you might not get a 100% professional experience. In short, I will never be doing business with Tick Tock Escape Room again. read more
