We got through all the lines in less than the 3 hours and went to have lunch afterwards at a decent time. Only thing I'd change is renting the GoPro, our phones were just as good. And I was handed an SD card that I had to ask around to borrow an adapter. Would've been better if it was a usb drive or they gave me a link. WARNING: Do NOT waste your money here -- this business is a total scam! I bought Groupon vouchers last winter for a specific family outing, only to discover later that the business was completely unresponsive. No one answered the phone, their website showed no available dates, and out of frustration I even drove an hour to their location--only to find nothing happening. A month later, I received an email stating they were "closed for the winter." Nowhere -- not on the Groupon listing, their website, or their voicemail -- did they mention being seasonal. When I tried to use my vouchers later, they refused to honor them. Even worse, the operators openly admitted that they continue to sell Groupon vouchers during the winter to "boost sales," fully knowing they're closed and that customers can't use them. That's deceptive and unethical. Bottom line: This company hides behind Groupon to take your money and then refuses to stand behind their product. My girlfriend and I were looking for something fun to do on a Friday night and we came across Zip KC. We selected the Sunset Zipline Tour which included 9 zip lines and started around the evening time. Before we began to zip line, we were introduced to our amazing tour guides. They were very nice, respectful, funny, unique, and personable. We put on our zip lining gear, wrote creative names on our partners helmet, sat on a bus that drove us to our starting point, and walked to the area where we'd begin our adventure. The tour guides showed us the proper procedures on how to zip line and informed us that they inspect every line before opening, during, and closing to verify everything is correct and in top performance. They made sure to have one guide in front of the group and one behind to ensure the safety of all guests. I absolutely enjoyed my time zip lining through the beautiful environment. With this being my first time, I was slightly worried about being high in the air, but that fear went away and I was ecstatic the whole way through! Make sure to wear comfortable shoes because you will be hiking a decent amount throughout the tour! Overall, this was an amazing experience that I will never forget. Came here on a Friday night to do the couples zip and ended up having a blast! They ask you to arrive 30 minutes early, so we got there and got suited up and we were ready to go! They have you write nicknames on your helmet that will be your name for the remaining tour (so make it clever!) Our tour guides were super personable and friendly and made the experience even better. We went down a total of 8 lines I believe, and each line was unique in there own way. Fair warning, your small fear of heights will be exploited so make sure you're ready to face your fears. But once you conquer them, you'll be so glad you did ! This was definitely a thrilling experience that will always be a fond memory. Our tour guide was Mandy and Alex. Both were so helpful and fun. They gave us great instructions and made our group so enjoyable. We learned how to properly wear our harness and prepare for our journey in Ziplining. The zip lines are great for anyone, kids to grown ups, BUT you can't be over the weight limit. I also like how you don't even need gloves to enjoy this lazy but fun zip lines. You can just hang out your strap of your harness or just hold on to nothing. There was a few time I felt so exhilarating and flying! It's safe and they make sure you are tightly on the rope. The free fall at the very end was great. I was very scared to get started on the course, but it was so much fun once I got the swing of it. Bonner Springs was so close to the kc area. They have picnic benches and a fire pit if you want to make a day of it. We did the Tower Tour lines which was 5 difference zip lines. Justin and Kirya were fantastic guides. Went on the four line zip adventure, some hiking was done but it really wasn't that far to walk from the bus to the line and back. The zips are fun and just a bit leaving you with "gee i wish i could just hang out here on the line a bit longer" feeling as you buzz pass the tree too on one line you really don't get a lot of time to look around and see the sites. But that gets forgotten as you fly down the line and feel the air going by, the whine of the metal cable. I recently completed the tower tour and would recommend it to anyone who is in the area and looking for a good experience. Guides McKayla and Kayla (even as a creative person, I can't make that up) provide a great opportunity to zip line in the KC area. They are only 25 minutes from downtown Kansas City and the views on the tour are fantastic. From the top of tower one you can see five different counties. Some great views of the trees, landscapes, and terrain made this an excellent place for zip lining. They book out so make sure you schedule your tour ahead of time online. read more

Nestled into the river bluffs of Bonner Springs, this summer camp like adventure park is one of my favorite hidden gems anywhere around KC. Well, it might not be so hidden anymore since I know a ton of people who talk about this, but just in case you haven't come across it I'll give you the bottom line up front: Don't hesitate, go book online and choose the Tower Tour without thinking twice. This is a serious blast, a little bit nerve wracking as you first climb the tower, but then totally free and easy once you fly off of it. You get going over 40 mph and soar over the trees, only to land on more tree top stands to do it again, again and again. Each time I've been out here it's been a highlight of my summer and it's something I want to bookmark to do at least once a year. They also do obstacle course runs out here, as well as a Halloween hike that has a whole lot of NOPE to it. For instance, they have a part of the wooded trail where there are fifty mannequins all around you and some of them are real people, some aren't... eff that. No adrenaline junkie here but it definitely got it pumping. I don't like most roller coasters, or heights, or carnival rides. This was nothing like any of these. The hardest part lasted all of 5 seconds, right before I stepped off the platform. Than it was exciting and stunning soaring through the trees. I want to do my next birthday, or friends birthday, or bachelorette party, or date, really anything, but it's got to be the night zip next. Strobe lights, fog music, pretty much a 180 of the day zip. Which although peacefully stunning and serene, I don't know, I just feel the need to try it. Oh my, the guides in it self were pretty entertaining throwing out all those witty one liners. I have a feeling it's a job requirement but these are some quality human beings. Professionally walk all nervous nellies through the process but at the same time keep you focused on what matters and enjoy yourself. My group of 12 did the 5 tower course, I was told on some I was going about 45mph, it definitely feels fast but not so much that I can't watch what's going on around me. Some in my group had their phones or go-pro out while zipping. I would of, but knowing my luck I would probably drop it. The guide said if I did, with the ringer on I could find it again but didn't really trust my case, nor the fall, nor did I feel like searching for it so I just enjoyed the ride and took pictures from the platforms. With our size group the course took about an hour and half to get through but it felt much faster than that. Our guides, Crazy Steve and Bailey, were incredibly informative, patient, easy-going, and overall fun to hang out with and talk to; my hats off to you two! Socializing makes this activity a whole lot more fun so do yourself a favor and just have a fun, relaxed outlook when coming here. The worst part is that their braking system smacks you in the face and, in my case, broke my glasses. When I spoke with management about the equipment issue, they said I had waived my rights. Went for The Trail of Terror on a Saturday night. 1st off, dont go on a Sat night unless you're a fan of waiting in line for 2 1/2 hours freezing your A** off! Theres no fix for it other than dressing for winter, which I did not. I highly suggest going on a weeknight instead though. Supposedly a few $$ cheaper too. The crew and actors here really put a lot of work into this and it shows! There was even a young local band playing on top of some stone building or cave high above the waiting line. Very Queen of the Dammed feel to it. The only suggestion I would make would be some more patio heaters/burn barrels placed along the line. The Trail itself, about a mile long and lined the whole way with various spooky stuff and actors. If you're not used to being in the woods at night and you're not desensitized, this will probably be spooky. I was actually surprised by how treacherous parts of the trail would be for people who are used to sidewalks. There's some steep climbing thru some old wrecked school buses on a hill at one point. Again, alot of work and effort went into this so keep that in mind before complaining about the ticket price. read more

I've zipped before but this is one of the better experiences and definitely recommend for people who have never gone and even those who have been multiple times before. We had a group reservation of 8 people at 9:30 on a Friday night we showed up at 9:33 and Jamie had sent the team home for the night. For as much as this costs you would think they would wait more then 2 minutes. Additionally he was extremely rude immediately walking up to our group upon arrival and stating "we have a problem...." in a rude and abrasive voice. Most businesses I visit greet their customers with a Hi. It would also make sense to give your guests a call before sending the team home if you were really so worried they weren't going to show more like a case of lazy teenagers who don't want to work. read more

My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate our anniversary and it was the best decision we could have made! Luke and Karson were our zip guides and we chose the Ultimate Tour (the one that takes you through all nine zip lines). Both of them made us feel so comfortable and safe and their banter was awesome. It was an amazing experience and we will definitely come back! A few things to note: Workout leggings are the best option if you are coming and you're a woman! They have a bucket of sunscreen and bug spray that you can use if you forgot yours at home (which, we did, so it was super appreciated). You are also encouraged to tip your guides if you liked them, and if you forgot cash, that's okay! You can tip them via debit or credit card inside the little cabin where you check-in at the beginning. Make sure you are wearing close-toed shoes as well! read more

The zip-lining itself was great. The guide staff was very polite and made the trip memorable. We left something on the property, so we had to return back to get the item. We called ahead to ensure that they were still open. We got a girl named Amber on the phone who was incredibly rude and disrespectful. She said that they were open until a certain time, but when we went back, they were, in fact, closed. The parking lot was blocked off, and the doors to the main buildings were closed with their lights off. We called again and got the same lady. She didn't apologize for the mishap and tried to make up excuses and blame the incident on us. When we finally retrieved the item, we took TWO additional 1-hour drives back to ZipKC. We are understanding people, but to have the receptionist call a customer with a rude attitude, to mislead us, and then not even apologize is just unacceptable. read more

I was lucky enough to be invited to Yelp KC's "Newbie Elite Aerial (Ziplining) Adventure" at Adventure Zip KC (AZKC), just outside of Bonner Springs, Kansas in the hills above several large limestone caverns, by Matt E, Yelp Kansas City's Community Manager. Yelp "Elite" are those deemed worthy of the title based on reviewing prowess and acumen during the previous year and I was honored with the title early this year. AZKC is run by a group of eclectic, young, enthusiastic guides that entertain and ensure am exciting yet safe outdoor adventure. We were met by Matt E and AZKC staff when we arrived, signing waivers (in case something went horribly wrong) and suiting up in the ziplining harnesses and helmets. I brought my GoPro and helmet (with a camera mount), but make sure that yours meets OSHA and other safety standards, otherwise you will not be allowed to use it. Mine did. It was a hot day, around 100 degrees, but fortunately the surrounding woods provided shade and a respite from the heat. After suiting up, we jumped on the old school bus and made our way through the woods (watch out for poison ivy/oak and stinging nettles) to the first zipline station, a short traverse across a small canyon. After getting hooked-up to the line, I took several steps before being hoisted into the air and across the canyon at a leisurely, but fun, pace. The ziplines became longer, steeper, faster, and more exciting as we progressed on our journey. AZKC's staff provided the necessary safety information along with loads of jokes and puns, making the two hour adventure not just safe but fun. The second zipline was much longer and faster than the first, but there was a guide at the other end waiting to help slow our descent into a safe stop. The third and final zipline was the longest of the three, starting atop a small tower and ending on the other side on a pivoting contraption that took some quick adjustments in order to remain standing. We then hiked up the hill to "the tower" (which was not included in our visit) to catch our bus back to base camp. The "HIKE & ZIP" PACKAGE lasts 1 - 1.5 Hours, includes three zips and free equipment for $49.99. The "Tower Zip" lasts 1.5 to 2 hours, starts off on the 65 foot tower where you zip 5 great, unique lines, and includes a guided tour and equipment ($79.99). Or you can zip all eight (8) lines for $99.99. In all, it was a fun and exciting adventure, not too demanding for an old military retiree with bad knees and back. Be prepared for short hikes up and down moderate inclines with rocky, uneven surfaces. Otherwise, the zipling itself is rather easy on the body as long as you listen to the safety briefings. My only disappointment was when I handed our young female guide a $20 tip as we left (after all, it was a complimentary "Yelp Elite Event) and she did not bother getting out of her chair to thank us or say goodbye. I doubt if many patrons tip $20 or more, so a little appreciation would have been appropriate. It would have been fun and educational to try THE TOWER in order to provide more information for my readers. Otherwise, it was a great day!
