My packages were in Atlanta twice!

YOU ARE NOW WARNED - when you use this service there is NO reliable tracking, NO accountability and NO on-time delivery. I shipped 8 boxes across country during my move expecting them to arrive to final destination in about two weeks (they advertise 10 business days for this service). It is now 5 weeks later and I just received 4 of boxes. After the first 10 days, I checked the online tracking daily but it is inaccurate. I know this because once I received my 4 boxes, online tracking still indicates they are in Atlanta (see screen shot below)! Two weeks after ship date, I started calling Customer Service about every other day for status updates. Each call to customer service takes one hour because you have to wait 30-40 minutes to reach a human. The agent will call the last known location of your package, but no one answers the phone on the other end! I feel sorry for these agents because they are dealing with a system that is absolutely horrible. There is no accountability! I was told that "it is up to the driver" which packages they load onto their bus at the station. So for weeks, my packages have been going around and around the US and no one can tell me where they are. Hopefully the last 4 boxes are not lost. A small glimmer of hope is Melinda at the Greyhound station in Tupelo who said she would call me right away when the other 4 boxes show up. That was 3 days ago. God only know where they are now. I called again this morning ...no luck, what a complete SHIT SHOW!! Using this service is a LIVING NIGHTMARE and not worth the savings. If you do use Busfreighter, only ship items that you can afford to loose. Best advice: Use FedEx instead and you will be able to sleep at night.

Denver, CO to Pittsburgh, PA Absolutely recommend busfrieghter! They were helpful, reasonably priced, and all of our stuff got here in one piece and in tact! We highly recommend wrapping and securing the packages like in our photos as well as the other photos of boxes that have been extensively wrapped. It's super important to pack your boxes well and as if they are prepared to go across the country! We love this service! What a great option for sending our stuff across the country. Wonderful alternative to a uhaul and far more cost effective!!

9 storage bins, labeled clearly and on each side

We shipped out 9 boxes from Phoenix to be sent to Minneapolis on December 29th by GPX via Busfreighter. Pick-up was smooth, but once it was out of our sight, it's been a shit show. The only shipping update I have to this day is that all 9 boxes were loaded outbound from Phoenix on January 1st - it is now January 24th. All we know is that 2 boxes have made it to Minneapolis, but since we chose door-to-door, they wait till all packages arrive to call and set up a time to drop off. GPX customer service is a nightmare - I don't ever speak of workers this way, but I truly don't understand what they are getting paid to do...they've done nothing to help me. I've been calling them EVERYDAY for the past three weeks. I've tried calling the Phoenix station, Minneapolis station, and every transfer station possible in between with no luck and no clarification on where my 7 remaining boxes are. I am still hopeful that we get our boxes, because I really cannot grasp how you can lose big storage boxes like these that are clearly labeled. But once I receive all my stuff, I will never be using this service again and making the same mistakes twice. It's really not worth the stress and lack of transparency, help, and communication. I will make an update if anything changes. 1/31 UPDATE: We were able to pick up 2 out of 9 boxes from the Minneapolis station. Where the other 7 are? Nobody has answered this yet. The condition of the two boxes was better than I expected, and none of the contents inside were broken. I will update when I find out more about the remaining packages.

I moved from Phoenix to NYC and decided to sell all of my furniture, which left me with 10 boxes (mixed sizes) to somehow get from one side of the country to the other. I had originally looked at shipping my boxes using FedEx or UPS Ground, but wondered if there was a more cost-effective solution that I could try. I stumbled across Busfreighter and was willing to give it a shot - and I'm extremely glad that I did! I was quoted ~10 days of transit time door-to-door for just around $500. My boxes actually arrived in New York after 7 days, and the courier was arranged for the following day to deliver them to my apartment. I won't lie, some of the horror stories I've read on Busfreighter's Yelp page had me a little more anxious to see how my boxes were going to arrive than I'd like to have been. But the good news is, out of everything I shipped, the only casualties were 3 glasses that I should've packed better. If you spend a little extra time packing & preparing your boxes, I think using Greyhound Express via Busfreighter is a great solution for long-distance moves. I used small, medium & large heavy-duty boxes from Home Depot with plenty of tape, stretch wrap & duct tape. I also made sure to put 3 labels on each box + brightly colored duct tape with "1 of 10, 2 of 10, etc" written on it. The boxes definitely looked like they had seen some travel between pick-up & drop-off, but overall I'm pretty happy with the condition they arrived in. Tracking was so-so. I'd love to see a service where you can see which bus your boxes are on & where they currently are. But the only tracking updates you get are when boxes are unloaded & loaded. In my case, all boxes were "loaded" in Phoenix, 6 were "unloaded" in Tulsa, OK (4 presumably on the original bus to NYC), then the 6 boxes in Tulsa were loaded a day later and on their way to NYC.

    Take care with packaging

exceeded expectations Highly recommend! I am moving across country NC--OR so I wanted to find the most affordable shipping option out there. Bus-freighter is the way to go. Why spend more money when you don't have to. I was very apprehensive to use this service as there are very mixed reviews. I decided to take my chance and I'm so glad that I did. I would recommend to others to do so as well. After reading several tips to help improve the likeliness of a smooth process I decided I was going to have faith in the process and move forward with Bus-freighter. I had 4 medium size boxes to send about 30 lbs each. At the suggestion of others, I put shipping labels on 4 sides of each box as well as bigger signs indicating how many boxes in the shipment. (1 of 4, 2 of 4 etc.) I wrapped the boxes in shipping wrap. I put bright colored duct tape to seal the box closed. I packed the boxes 99-100% full. I chose to send door to station and paid around $150 for all 4 boxes which isn't bad! (it would have been a little cheaper if I did Station to Station) The delivery expectation I was given was 10-14 days. My pick up window was 1pm-5pm I got a call 12:45 stating my driver was on his way. He showed up a little after 1pm He was very kind and helped me bring my boxes from the door to his van. He assured me if I called the main customer service line I could verify when the boxes were scanned in at the station. So thankful I had the rest of my day to do things I was already feeling good about my decision. Based on other reviewers calling Customer service with bad experiences, I decided to not worry about it and put a note in my calendar to contact them in 14 days if I hadn't heard anything. This allowed me to leave it in the hands of those with my boxes and I could go on with my moving preparations. My father was on the list to be the one to pick up the boxes at the station in OR and he Called me 7 days later saying that he was contacted about my boxes being ready for pick up and that they were all in very good condition. His experience was very smooth picking up the boxes He pulled up to the pick up location and gave them my name and they loaded the boxes into his car for him. My boxes had transferred at 3 different stations and still arrived several days before I expected them to! I will definitely be using them in the future. I haven't opened boxes to see if there is any damage, however most of the things were clothes. and soft items.

i'm Impressed - BusFreighter After reading reviews in yelp i'm scared to do shipping my house hold items via bus - freighter . But they did pretty great (Sanjose drop-off location - 6pc - 300lb - 300$ and delivery NC address ) with in just 4 days . No damages / No Issues . So happy the way they handled it , will definitely recommend to those who are looking for cheaper bulk shipping

AWFUL 3rd party seller of GREYHOUND PACKAGE EXPRESS! My shipment was brown into at the Terminals my things were stolen when I contacted them and reference to this they told me because there was no return payment for the shipment being returned to me it was out of their hands and sent me some clean information so because of this I am definitely disputing the charge from my bank someone is going to pay for this whole awful experience I was robbed and raped by these people. My things were broken into my things were stolen and I actually had to pay for this and then there's no one to talk to you no one to call the packages are tracked this is a awful service do not do it you will be disappointed

I wanted to provide some info that will help those in the future using this service. (1) Ship each box as a separate shipment, so you get the maximum $1,000 insurance value. (2) If they lose your box, you need to send a written claim to GPX at this address - Greyhound Lines Corp, PO Box 132820, Dallas TX, 75313. Now, send it with a return receipt, because they never signed for mine and it came back (and after I was haranging them and Busfreighter about suing them, again said that was the correct address and they were supposedly befuddled as to why my claim was returned by the mail service). (3) Here is the link to the claim form. http://www.shipgreyhound.com/Style%20Library/Greyhound%20Documents/PDF/en-us/US%20Refund%20Application.pdf (4) Here is the correct email for claims: greyhound.expressclaims@greyhound.com (5) Here are the terms you probably didn't know you agreed to - http://www.shipgreyhound.com/e/Pages/PackageTandC.aspx (6) Even with having sent them the claim by email and mail, I had to contact them and Busfreighter probably a dozen times each before I finally ever heard from anyone (months later). They offered me, as expected, $200 for my two lost boxes. They never did even TRY to find the two lost boxes, which is all I ever wanted, was for them to TRY. They did not call any of the stations, they did not employ any tracking system, they did not make any effort to locate the boxes either in the last place they were noted to have been seen or in the destination station. (7) Keep copious records. It's pretty ridiculous you need to go through these efforts when they are the ones with the obligation/burden, but that's the way it is if you decide to go with this company despite the terrible reviews. I'll upload my letter (which predates many efforts) to the pics if I can. Good luck and god speed.
