I am a big fan of Buskeys Ciders. Their bar also has a great atmosphere. It was a Saturday night and it wasn't super loud. They have games like large jinga, beer pong and large connect 4 and normal board games but tonights crowd was more laid back and a mix of age ranges, i didn't feel out of place. Everyone had a drink, no wait really at 6:30pm. Bartenders were awesome and helpful. The flights at $15 are kind of expensive but the pours for it were substantial. I would have gotten a flight but i have had most of their ciders before so I got my favorite RVA Cider which is delicious and well balanced. Also tried their 45 and Trying which is dryer than i like but a good option. My boyfriend really liked it. And finally I got their Curant infused cider and it has a light pink/red hue, is definitely tastie and on the sweeter side. But like a fruit sweet not an apple sweet. It was pretty darn good. Looks like they are also selling cans now so im hoping to pick some of them up to try at home. read more

The only reason I would recommend this establishment is if a group is looking to enjoy a nice outdoor atmosphere with a vantage point of the squirrels stadium's fireworks. This place is very fairly priced, but to be completely honest, the drinks were gross. Do NOT get the apple pie cider...tastes like shoes! This place was recommended to us and I was pretty excited to visit. We've been to Blue Bee and enjoyed it so I wanted to venture out. The Blue Bee cidery has cider that is more similar to wine versus the cider at Buskey is more carbonated like beer, which is something to note. We got the currant, RVA cider, Belgian candy, some tropical hoppy cider, and the jalapeño lime. The ones I liked best were the Belgian candy and currant. The Belgian candy had a slight caramel taste. I liked the pink color of the currant. The RVA cider was pretty tasty, I would say this would be a cider that anyone would like. It tasted similar to Magners. My boyfriend liked the hoppy cider, but thats because he doesn't like cider. We both agreed that the jalapeño lime was pretty unpleasant. Smells like straight up jalapeños. We thought it was worth a try though. The space is pretty small, intimate. I liked the old timey board games. I think I'd come again. read more

I like the setup and the fact they have board games and no tvs. But I found it way over priced for Richmond. It was more NYC pricing. $15 for a tasting flight of 5 small ciders is very expensive. As an introduction to trying their products it needs to be significantly cheaper. I think $8-10 would be more appropriate. The Bold Rock cider mill charges less than $10 for a flight plus you get more ciders to taste - I think 8?? Also $4 for a bag of Kroger brand chips is too much. If you are going to charge top prices at least have a premium brand. I am all for supporting small businesses, but if their costs are so much they have to charge such high prices it is not a viable option. Shame, because it is a nice setup just not affordable for go on a regular basis. read more

Tons of fun! It's the most ideal place to taste cider beers, have fun, and hang out with friends. Tons of options for flavored cider beers and board games! We ended up each getting flights and playing picture code games. I got three flights with rose lemon, tart cherry, and maple. All of them were great. read more

Do I like cider? Sure. Hard Cider? Love it! Made this my first stop for the Scott's Addition Booz Crawl and happy I did. Great way to ease into a night of drinking with good people and awesome hard cider. I went with the RVA Cider after not being a huge fan of one of their more tart options in 45 & Trying. I'm sure I could enjoy that but the RVA was a lot smoother and a classy ode to my hometown. With jumbo jenga, board games and giant checkers the tasting room and event space was oozing with good vibes. I could see myself grabbing a glass and enjoying the people to be honest. Walked up to the bar, it was like we were invisible. Asked if they had a description of the ciders they serve, she said, you can ask me. Really, after you ignored us for 5 minutes. Ciders are average, which with the rude service makes this place just okay. Towards the end of our flight, Will came to the rescue and was very friendly and helpful. Came here on a Sunday for a lazy afternoon. They offer 3 flights for $10 or 5 flights for $15. We opted for two flights of five. The earl grey flight was the first one I tried and not my cup of tea. It was actually pretty tough to drink. I did like the winesap as it was syrupy sweet. My mom was a huge fan of the jalapeño line Randall's. My husband was not initially a fan of the nitro cold brew coffee cider but liked it the more he drank it. I however, did not have a cider that made me crave for more. Food here is quite pricey. A bag of Kroger corn chips will set you back $4. But you can bring your food from home which I would recommend. read more

Great ciders in a fun environment! I loved the good variety of ciders and flight options. I was happy I got to try their five most popular. I didn't find any too sweet (which is surprising for ciders) although some were more flavorful than others. I ended up ordering a glass of the Cranberry Basil, which was light and not too bubbly. The tasting room offered tour and had plenty of games. Our group also loved doodling in the chalkboard surfaces. I also noticed a semi private room off to the side which would be great for larger groups (~15). I would recommend Buskeys for groups looking for something a little different than the other breweries in Scotts Addition. read more

Great service, great cider. Love the variety of flavors. We got a flight and tried: Jalapeno Lime: Better than most jalapeno drinks I've tried. Really good but I wouldn't do a full glass of it unless I was eating tacos or something. Peach Tea: 10/10. So sweet and delicious. I could do a gallon of that stuff. Bantha Milk: Super weird for a cider. The servers tried to get us to try something else instead, but as a ridiculously die-hard Star Wars fan, I had no choice but to get it. It tasted nothing like a cider, more like an alcoholic coconut milk. But in addition to Star Wars, I'm obsessed with coconut, so I thought it was great! Unidentified Cider(s)?: The first three ciders were so memorable, and I was so tired from pigging out in Carytown and walking to Buskey in the hot sun that I barely remembered my own name, let alone what other ciders we tried. I don't think I had any complaints though. Watermelon Rosemary--Tried this at Circuit Arcade Bar rather than the cidery. I had really high hopes for it, and it was good, but I think the rosemary overpowered the watermelon, as rosemary often does. So overall, the ciders were great, the staff was great, they allow dogs, and they have a lot of fun games. If I lived in the area, I'd be here all the time. I love ciders and this place doesn't disappoint. The people are friendly, it was small but didn't feel cramp and of coarse the ciders were good. The price of the flight was reasonable($15) and so was the pint/glass of cider ($7). I didn't notice any tours, tastings, or anything with substance to snack on but come to think about it, you won't find that at the other breweries in the area. If you get a chance to talk to a founder and ask questions you'll find some good info if that's what you're into. Overall, I'm glad there's something like this in RVA and I'll be back for sure. read more

I visited Buskey Cider this past weekend with a few friends while on a Scott's Addition Beer Tour and let me tell you something this was a wonderful treat after drinking beer after beer (after beer!) I love ciders there is something simply refreshing about them and Buskey is doing it right! They had three options when I was there on Saturday, I went with the RVA Cider and boy was it delicious - it went down a little too smooth! I also had a few sips of the Tart Cherry and that was unique, tart but sweet at the same time! The atmosphere there is great, they have a big windows in the front, a great bar area and some private rooms if you aren't looking for the rambunctious crowded area that I can only imagine gathers there :) The best part is they have chalkboard tables great for keeping people entertained, for hours!! Nice staff, great area, great ciders, in the perfect location!! read more

Buskey is my favorite "brewery or cidery" in RVA. There are a few things that make Buskey my favorite. I absolutely love their cider, and feel as though they are fairly priced, especially compared to other places that sell cider in the area... not to name names.... but anyway-- I love the atmosphere here, super laid back compared to the other breweries in Scott's Addition. It's never overly crowded, and always feels comfortable. I love their selection of board games, and all of the different spaces they have for seating, I'm pretty sure I've sat in every room. Some of the best cider I've ever had and definitely the best tasting in Richmond, VA. Wide range of cider options, from tart cherry flavors to jalapeño flavors, there's a cider for every taste bud. The flight option is well worth the money with 5 ciders for $15 for about 8oz each. They also do growlers which you get a discount for refilling upon return. The only reason I'd give this place a 4/5 instead of a 5/5 is the limited inside and outdoor seating, and most of the games I've tried have been broken or missing pieces. Other then that I would recommend trying Buskey Cider but going during less crowded hours to secure a seat and good game. read more

This spot was one our favorite on our brewery/cidery hopping tour. The environment was perfect with kids. We stayed in the front area, because yes, were that family with kids ha! We enjoyed a game of Life, the bartender was super sweet! Perfect amount of chatty and friendliness! She really was helpful and explained the ciders great! We didn't spend any time in the back, but it looked like that was where the fun was! We try not to impose on the more lively crowd with kids, and also try not to have the more happy, full bellied types around the kids. Basically trying to enjoy the best of both worlds of being a parent, and enjoying a place like this, while not being uncomfortable, or making anyone else feel that way. However, the next time we come back, would definitely like to drop the little boogers, and head to the back where it looked like the fun was happening! All around, this establishment was truly welcoming, you felt like you were in the heart of RVA, and that's what we were looking for! We also left with a growler fill! read more

This place is great! I came here with some friends and we loved it! We each got the 3 cider flights. I got the RVA cider, the Tart Cherry, and one of the ciders that had Lamplighters coffee in it. They were all delicious but my favorite was the RVA cider (it was the sweetest). They had a large variety of games to play while we sipped on ciders. We enjoyed the back seating area with all of the cider equipment. One of the staff members was kind enough to take out a photo of us. Another customer came with her dog so the place is very welcoming to furry friends. Very much a plus because I love doggos! I would definitely come again! read more
