Service is horrible. You have to flag down the bartender for a drink. I'm not the only one who has had a bad experience here since their head bartender left some time ago. Train the bartenders how to bring customer service to the forefront of what they do regardless if they're related to the owners. read more

I don't get out this way very often, but as luck would have it, I found myself in the area so I decided to go to Busky's Chill & Grill located just off 168 on the way to Nags Head. This is a fun little place where you can enjoy a fantastic meal served by folks who are committed to ensuring that you have a great experience. They offer outdoor seating when the weather is nice but it was too cold for that on my visit. They have a great selection of items on their menu for just about every taste. I really enjoyed the chicken quesadilla. It was crispy and delicious. The chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I really enjoyed it. We have lived in this area for 10 years and have always seen this spot but never went in and really, I don't know why. One Saturday at 11 found us with time to kill while waiting for a prescription at Walgreens. To burn some time we decided to eat but wanted something close and I wasn't in a mood for his go to (Mexican) so we decided to give Busky's a shot. Figuring that opening time would mean the place wouldn't be busy was a good call as we found it with just a few other diners. Hubby found the special of sausage, beans and rice appealing and I went with the chicken quesadilla. Hubby likes collards but I don't eat them so I don't cook them either so if he sees them on a menu somewhere I know immediately he's going to pick them as a side, which is just what he did. I mention them because I knew going in that another Yelper had specifically commented that they were tasty so I asked for hubby's opinion and he agreed, the collards passed the taste test. Hubby couldn't stop eating his beans and rice. The sausage portion was huge and grilled open faced-which is how he loves it. He was quite impressed and mentioned to me that we need to stop in here more often. And I would have to agree. Since the pandemic it has been really hard to find a good quesadilla anywhere so when I saw one on the menu I knew immediately it would be my lunch. The shredded chicken was plentiful and full of flavor. It came on a green flour 'dilla with mixed melted cheddar cheese and sautéed onions and peppers. Y'all, there was so much chicken I could have made another quesadilla. I asked for sour cream on the side and got it without having to remind our server. Since my 'dilla didn't come with a side I ordered some fries. They come coated and in a basket. There were so many that both of us ate from the basket and I still had leftovers!! All in all, a wonderful experience. I do not know why it took us 10 years to dine here but we'll definitely go back. read more

Very disppointing...its a bar that happens to have some food...we were there this evening....loud patrons at the bar. Looking across the small room, we only saw our table and one other that actually had food. Patrons with a dog at the outisde dining area and one inside in a ladies purse. only 1 waitress when we arrived who was working a full bar and tables; a couple more did show up before we left. read more

Cool little Neighbor bar that has some great food as well. You can't go wrong with the tuna tacos. Today the bartender recommended the burrito and I took her advice, good call! We ordered for the first time from Busky's through takeout. We didn't receive the sauces we requested, and the blackened tuna tacos were not blackened. They had no seasoning and were very bland. Unfortunately we will not be returning. read more

Ok. First of all I have lived right down the street from this place for 5 years. Service is amazing. Stephanie was our waitress and Jessica replenished our drinks. These two ladies provided the best customer service I have ever experienced. Now to the food. If you love southern food then you will love this place. My wife and I had the fried bone in pork chops and they were the best pork chops I have had since being in Louisiana and Texas. The collards are to die for. Collards have three layers of flavor. First the collards hit you with the sweet then the vinegar and then the heat. The mashed potatoes were excellent and the gravy was delicious. They have a band on Friday's and this will be my wife and I new Friday hang out spot. I'm just sad living down the street and have not tried it sooner! Came here on a Monday afternoon for a beer with my dad. We decided to order a couple of side salads & split the fried pickles. Both items were delicious! The salad was definitely worth the $3.50 and the fried pickles were hot & airy. Our server was super friendly & recommended a mango flavored beer which was perfect for summer. I went there to here a buddy of mine play in a band. It's not a big place for a full band. The band was great. An acoustic performer would be ideal for this small place. There was no seating left. We stopped for dinner after visiting relatives and were lucky to hit karaoke night which was great, as was the food. The DJ joined-in and kept good singers on stage the whole time we were there. Lunch July 2 So one of the things I do when I go into any restaurant is ask the server "what is good today" or "what do you recommend"? 9 X out of 10 -- they will steer me in the direction of what YOU SHOULD ORDER based on what they know to be the best thing there (its usually what THEY would eat). So...taking my own advice, I asked. Lady says 2 things are really good today a BBQ Sandwich w/fries or a special Meatloaf. So for $6.99 I got a chunk of good meatloaf and mashed potatoes (homemade) smothered in brown gravy with fresh made green beans w/garlic, onions and bacon in them. Oh yeah, it also came with a little bread roll. So for $7.44 (meal + tax) I got a pretty good lunch. Hard to beat that! BTW - this is a BAR that serves food (its not a trendy bistro or foodie delight), just a neighborhood place that serves some food. read more

There was a bar tender, but I did not see here trying to take any orders. Several people left without ordering food. We told the rest of our family to not come there. We waited over an hour for our food, 3 sliders, a chicken sub and fish and chips. French fries came cold. Food came at separate times. First time we went, same timing problems, very slow. We come here fairly regularly for wing nights but I'm not sure we want to come back anymore. We waited a long time before anyone took our drink & food orders, but to be fair, it was busy. Our waitress was extremely rude & short with us - which took us back wondering what we did wrong. We didn't order much food but it still took over 40 minutes. The food was alright. We asked for checks and it took another 20 minutes. I also politely asked for a box to take my leftovers home three times, and still never got one. We overall had a really crummy experience. As a nurse, I also wish they would take the pandemic a bit more serious, all the waitresses were wearing mesh masks and the place was overcrowded. read more

The very first time we went we had a girl as our server who was not super friendly...we just took it in stride and came back because the drinks were good and the food is amazing. I recommended it to my friends today for the first time and we went back and had the same girl that we had the very first time again tonight... She was very rude from the time she came to the table and came back to check on us. My friends literally just wanted to get the check and leave which we did. And I was super embarrassed. Don't waste your time or money. Only two people working, the bar tender and the cook. Waited well over 30 min for a burger. During that time only one other table got an order (2 plates). At one time, I looked into the kitchen and could see the cook texting on her phone, with her sanitary gloves on. I'm sure that's the reason the burger I ordered medium came out well done. After pushing my not even half eaten burger away and finishing my drink, I finally signaled the bartender that I was ready. She acknowledged me but wasn't done talking to the off the clock coworker so it took her another minute or two before she made her way to me. She did comp the burger after I complained. read more
