This spot is always a fav. I've been at least 10 times and always forget to leave a review. The atmosphere is relaxed while the food and drinks feel more elevated. When you enter you will need to seat yourself at any clean empty table. The waitress will see you and come by with menus. There's typically just 2 waitresses somehow holding down the whole place but we've always felt attended to. Menu is tapas style, small plates. I love their fresh bread! They have a variety of rotating creative cocktails and mocktails. Seasonal bread puddings for dessert are a must. I've turned multiple "I don't like bread pudding" people into believers here. Live music is typical at different points throughout the night. It can get loud depending on how close you sit to the performers but there's far seating that allows for a more conversational volume. The crowd is age diverse but lots of Gen X and millennials. Great place to meet up with friends, do a casual date night, or sit at the bar and meet new people. read more

The drinks are a good bang for your buck! Strong and delicious. Food was good but nothing amazing. We split the calamari, burger, artichoke hearts, fries, and tuna poke. The calamari and tuna were my favorite. The artichoke was my least favorite. I would say this is more of an after dinner drinks place. At the beginning of the night, our first round of food came out pretty quickly but as it got more crowded, our second round of food took about 30 minutes from when we ordered to come out. I'm really excited to have this establishment in my neck of the woods. Got there when they opened and in no time all the tables were packed. It's obviously a local favorite and after trying some of their dishes, I understand why. We were a party of four and we started off with some drinks. Two got the Mezcal Old Fashion, one got a Devils Backbone lager and I got the French Martini. Everyone enjoyed their drinks and for whatever reason I didn't take a picture of my Martini and it was the prettiest drink of all. It was a little on the sweet side but still delicious. My daughter has become a regular there and our server recognized her and welcomed her back. She was very friendly and helpful. She continuously checked on us and even offered to make recommendations. Three of the four of us are vegetarians and I was pleasantly surprised to see more than usual choices. I shared several small plates with my daughter and everything was delicious. We got their smoked collard greens (first time for me), their fried artichoke hearts and their baguette served with dipping oil and Parmesan cheese. My husband got their calamari which is served with two different dipping sauces and a side of fries. He said that it was perfect. My daughter-in-law got their vegetarian chicken sandwich in bbq sauce and fries and she loved it. Overall we had a pleasant experience and can see my husband and I becoming regulars. Found exactly what I was looking for at The Roads Bistro! Really awesome live music and food. I've really been into jazz/R&B lately and happened to get invited here tonight for my friend's daughter's show. The ambiance is relaxing. I got the ahi tuna. It was yummy! They had some good fries, great portion. I loved the pot stickers in Thai chili sauce. Staff were nice. I'm so glad I just happened to get invited to this place. Burger tasted like taco seasoning, crab soup had no crab, cake was store bought and hard. Went in thinking wow nice place, even had live jazz music (they were great). No host so you stand and wonder until someone from the bar yells "sit wherever you want". Bartenders can't do one decent cocktail either. You think for 10$ a drink they'd be able to make something taste like what the description says. So I decide to go for an easy whisky ginger after basically siping on a tequila shot . I've always wanted to try this place, and I finally did!! ( I went there once on Monday not knowing they're closed on Monday) They have "welcoming vibe" from every single employee there!! We had a great dinner with friends! Our server, Nicole, had such a warm, genuine personality and made us feel like welcomed guests instead of just another table. Her excellent service made our meal even more enjoyable, and we'll definitely be back because of her. The atmosphere was perfect with live music, and we loved that the restaurant offered two seating areas, allowing you to enjoy your meal either close to the band or a little farther away if you preferred. We also enjoyed several specialty cocktails that were as beautiful as they were delicious! We shared the oysters, collards, buffalo cauliflower, chimichurri steak, and blueberry lemon bread pudding. This used to be one of my favorite spots. I've had great meals here in the past and often recommended it to friends. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was not only disappointing but also left me questioning whether I'll return. During my previous visit, I received a dish that was noticeably subpar compared to past few visits. Wanting to give the benefit of the doubt, I followed one of the cooks suggestion (whom I randomly ran into the next day) to speak with the manager directly instead of leaving a negative review. I approached the conversation respectfully and constructively, but was met with an unexpectedly defensive and dismissive response by both the server and the manager. The manager seemed more interested in brushing me off, even telling me to "just write a review" rather than engaging in any meaningful dialogue. The guests I attended with was also taken aback by his response. It wasnt a matter of trying to get free food, but actually notifying them about my last experience. Since half the staff was seriously under the influence when I last visited. (also confirmed by the manager when I spoke with him) What made the experience even more uncomfortable was overhearing staff speaking negatively about us after the conversation. It felt unprofessional and frankly, unnecessary...especially when I had approached things in good faith. It's disappointing when a place with great food and potential is overshadowed by poor customer service and a lack of professionalism. I hope they reflect on this feedback, because it could've been handled so differently. As someone who also works in the service industry, I was try to provide the benefit of the doubt..but let's be real..none was needed after this dramatic interaction. read more

This was by far the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. I ordered the Pasta Primavera with chicken, and every other noodle seemed to be cold. The chicken was beyond overcooked and extremely dry. My wife ordered the Chicken Orzo Bake, but it never even came out, meaning she didn't get to eat at all during our visit. What made the experience even worse was the complete lack of concern from the staff. No one apologized for my wife's meal never arriving, and there was no effort made to make the situation right. I also ordered a glass of wine with my pasta, and it took approximately 35 minutes to receive it. To top it all off, we waited about 40 minutes just to get our water refilled. The service was incredibly slow and inattentive throughout the entire meal. My wife and I have personally been to Spain and have eaten tapas, this is the furthest thing from it! Based on this experience, the staff does not appear to be properly trained for restaurant service. Between the poor food quality, missing entrée, lack of apology, and extremely slow service, I will not be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. I came to The Roads Bistro because my husband had gotten the recommendation from a really good friend. We were told that the food was scrumptious here. We found a cozy spot in the back to get comfortable in and we had a great view of the stage. To our greatest surprise, a Jazz band was performing that night! We were ecstatic because I love music. Food was really good, so that's a plus!! The shrimp, artichokes, smash burger and potstickers were all very tasty. It was a Friday night around 6pm so it was busy and there was a live music act that was warming up when we arrived. The service was a bit slow but the waitress was apologetic and polite. The only problem was how loud the live music was while we're were dining. We weren't as far away as possible from the music but we were in the next room over and it was good music but it was ear splitting. I'd consider going back for the food, and maybe showing up before the band kicks off or maybe a jazz night. read more

Great spot for tapas and cocktails with a casual atmosphere and good service! We came for a birthday celebration with 8 friends and were able to get a reservation same day which was awesome. I got the French Martini which was done perfectly. Would absolutely get it again. It was very well balanced and perfectly chilled. The foam on top was an added bonus. As a group, we ordered close to 75% or more of the menu so we got to try bites of many things. Here's what we loved: Chicken Teriyaki Postickers Scallops Beef Carpaccio Big Mac Flatbread (it was a special of the day but would LOVE for this to be a mainstay menu item) A few of the items that we weren't huge fans of were the goat cheese and olive bruschetta and the wedge salad with the beets. Had dinner here last night 12/27/2023 to celebrate a friend's birthday. Everyone had been here before. This was my first time and had been looking forward to visiting this place. We were a table of 10 and we all ordered different things. I ordered the Scallops, Beet & Apple Wedge salad and Beef Carpaccio. I love wedge salads and I knew this was not your typically salad. I did enjoy this dish with its bright tanginess. This dish is definitely sharable. I would prefer more beets but that's just because I love beets. The apples gave it a nice sweetness. Beef Carpaccio was not bad but when I think carpaccio I am assuming thinly raw steak and this was not the case. It was more like medium rare as you can see in the pic. It was still good but I would like my carpaccio raw thank you. Now the star was the Scallop dish, those scallops were cooked perfectly with a nice sear on them. You get three average sized scallops but man were they so sweet and plump not chewy at all. This was my favorite out of the three dishes I had. Everyone else got Pierogies, Gnocchi, Sirloin steak, Cheese board, She crab soup and Shrimp tacos. They all enjoyed their dishes. I had a taste of the she crab soup, pierogies and gnocchi. I definitely will get the pierogies and she crab soup next time. The gnocchi was good but I was expecting pillowy soft these were pan fried. Not bad but I prefer soft gnocchi. There was live music playing but I really was not paying attention as I more engaged with my group. Service was good. I think as time goes on, I think that they should have a dj on Saturdays. I feel like they need a dj. Maybe have a person playing an instrument or something. Or an open mic night. Anyway I digress. I tried a few things on their menu. First I tried their Israeli couscous salad. It was good but I think the salad dressing should be more wet. It was more like a tomato relish. It was good though. I really love this place! I've been to this spot about 3X. I love the atmosphere, decor, the location and especially the live music on Saturday. It's a nice neighborhood spot. Large enough for group celebrations. The food, love the fries! I was told the burger is good and She-Crab soup. The chicken wings, not so much. The wings MUST improve!
