If Buss Ford was an NFL team, Kurt would be the MVP and Brandon would be the one I'd want with the ball at the goal line.
This all happened over the last 2.5 years.
Kurt, who isn't even a commissioned salesman as he works in parts told me about Buss Ford and he'd recommend anyone to go there for their next vehicle purchase. At first I wasn't quite sure I'd want to drive all the way to McHenry (From Chicago) to purchase a car because some guy that works there recommended I buy from his company - but I took a leap of faith and decided to take a look at what kind of cars they had to offer.
Without even stepping foot on the lot, I spoke to Brandon one of their sales professionals. I explained what kind of vehicle I was looking for. I won't bore you with the specifics, but Brandon actually talked me into looking at something I never would have thought to look at on my own. Basically I told him what kind of vehicle I wanted and why and he turned around and told me about this other vehicle that he felt met my needs even better - and best of all it cost less money than the original vehicle I was interested in.
I made the trek out to McHenry in the winter, took the car on a test drive, fell in love with it, and decided to make the purchase. The car I bought wasn't even in the Ford family as it was a used VW. Brandon told me about the extended warranties that Ford offers (even on vehicles not in the family) and while I was at first a little skeptical, Kurt was able to explain how expensive the VW is to repair over other vehicles. I would normally not have moved forward, but because I was able to see that this car ACTUALLY was the best fit for me at the time I decided to move forward with the purchase AND get an extended warranty.
Fast forward, it is now 2.5 years later - I'm extremely happy with my still to this day. The extended warranty as of this writing has covered 3 separate trips to a VW dealer for random repairs. All of my repairs I thought would be small and cheap/easy fixes but while the car was there VW found some things that were wrong with the car other than my reports and while they were skeptical that another manufacturers warranty would cover it - it's almost always been covered (The only thing not covered was my keys and that made sense because I turned down the extra warranty option to cover my keys - that's on me not on Ford). In total the warranty (which cost me about $2500 on an $11,000 car) has now covered a total of $12,000 in repairs. I am absolutely blown away by that fact.
Long story short, had it not been for Kurt I would've never even given Buss Ford a chance. Had it not been for Brandon I would've continued to think all car salesmen are crooks. But overall had it not been for the both of them I probably wouldn't be able to write an amazing review for such an awesome experience.
My advice to ownership: Buy these guys lunch, give them a paid day off, or find other ways to show them they are valued. They are A Players in a customers eye and because of them when I decide to purchase my next vehicle - I'll be trekking back to McHenry from Chicago to do so at Buss Ford. read more
