After having done the Bustronome experience in London, I can say that I enjoyed the Paris one much more. The bus leaves from the Arc de Triomphe, which was a fun area to explore beforehand (although, of course, very busy). Our servers welcomed us on the bus promptly at our reserved time and got us seated. We had just done the dinner option, without alcoholic drinks on this bus ride. They offer sodas & wines/other drinks aboard if you want to add that on when you get on. The food came out at good intervals (and the quality was much noticeably better in Paris). Our menu consisted of a tuna tartare dish, creamed corn with an egg & popcorn, fish with risotto, beef fillet with potato, cheese with lettuce, and a chocolate dessert. Although it was a unique combination, I liked the egg dish the most, followed by the chocolate dessert (although it was very sweet & decadent so finishing the whole thing was impossible). The risotto was pretty good too, fish & beef were okay. I didn't care much for the tuna appetizer because I'm not a fan of raw fish, but my husband said he liked it. The cheese course also seemed to be a miss; we didn't eat it and in looking at others around us, they didn't seem to either. The ride around itself was nice; since the map worked, we were able to keep track on our phone of where we were. After having done two dinner tours (because they cover more ground), I'd probably recommend lunch instead. If you're in it to see the sights then it's really not ideal to go at night. Given how late the ride starts, it's already dark so you're not able to see much, although they do time it perfectly so that you are right by the Eiffel Tower when it sparkles at the top of the hour.

I thought it'd difficult to judge Paris' Bustronome because I attended London's version twice. Those memories were fresh in my mind before I had the pleasure to visit this gourmet travel experience- the only other one in the whole world. But, I now find with that previous experience in London, it's even more helpful context behind this review, as I have a unique perspective that can be of value to you. I've tried both services in the U.K & France, and I can honestly share which one I prefer in regards to their service, food, & atmosphere. That being said, I wouldn't stop anyone from trying out this one-of-a-kind dining tour. You reserve a spot by paying online and when you arrive at the bus' entrance, they ask for your name so they can check it off their list and lead you to your seat. I was unlucky to have technical issues occur when trying to pay online, but they said I still could reserve my seat; I would just have to pay at the end of the dinner. Even if you do pay online, this may be the same case for you if you request any additional things such as cocktails or wine. This is a family-friendly establishment, complete with a kid's meal for the younger guests- but that only comes with three courses instead of six. The food itself was decent for the most part, but only the salmon ceviche (1st course) and iced nougat (last course) truly WOWed my taste buds. The other courses were passable, but it did make me miss London's cuisine (this is only referring to this dinner, as the rest of the food during my Paris trip blew London's food out of the water!) The flavors felt watered down, it reminded me of the times I'd have La Croix sparkling water where you only get a little hint of citrus. Since the menus change every few months, I may have just stumbled upon one that wasn't my type; doesn't mean that you wouldn't enjoy it- but, I still have to be frank about my thoughts. I will say that you cannot beat the views Bustronome offers you as you're driven around Paris throughout your dining experience. They pass by the biggest landmarks with ample time to take as many pictures and videos as desired. The bus also plays music that I noticed was lower in volume than London's. I think it's better that it's lowered, because you can still hold a conversation with your family or friends without needing to raise your voice. Not only are the views delightful, but it always brought me a surge of glee seeing random passerbys staring and pointing at the bus, wondering how the heck we could be eating like that and how can they get on next. Near the end of the tour, we stopped by the Effiel Tower and were allowed to go outside and see it sparkle as the clock hit 10pm. I think that was a very sweet gesture for the guests who may have not had a chance to see it up close until that night. It certainly created a romantic background for my date & I. I think I've had enough Bustronome to last a lifetime, but I encourage anyone else to try it out for themselves. While the food may have not been my favorite, I believe everything else about this dining tour makes it worth the price. From it's varied menu, to its kind staff, and great opportunities to collect memories of your time in Paris. If you squeeze in some time to take a ride with Bustronome, it would be a trip you would never forget- I promise you that.

We can't get over how exceptional our experience was last night. This was our second time doing dinner with Bustronome, this time the special Christmas dinner. Driving through Paris seeing the Christmas lights everywhere was magical. Even if you catch the lights walking around, doing it on Bustronome with a fabulous multi course dinner is next level. From booking to goodbye, all was flawless. Staff are friendly, kind and responsive. Food was delicious. When we checked in they confirmed they knew I had a shellfish allergy and served that course with a beautiful piece of fish instead of scallops. We normally hate being stuck somewhere without an escape but Bustronome doesn't feel that way.

I attended the lunch session in order to see the sites. The details as to where to get on the bus was a bit confusing. Considering there were 3 buses leaving at that time and one was on a separate street. And as I stood to board the bus i was then told I was at the wrong one. SMH. Perhaps numbering the buses would help along with confirmation as to where to stand to board them. Once we sorted out the bud ordeal I was able to sit and enjoy my experience. The food was definitely better than the restaurants I attended .which was a thumbs up. Unfortunately the audio commentary didn't work on the website so I wasn't able to enjoy the listening experience while I dined. The waitresses were nice. The bus was clean and the view sitting on the bus was pretty decent. The temperature was standard which was good because I am typically cold natured person so not having a light jacket worked for me considering it was July. The atmosphere was quiet considering only one kid was on the bus. It's definitely a must do in Paris. However try to get the audio working before the bus gets rolling.

Bustronome in Paris...I have NO words that can describe how amazing this experience was! Imagine: Driving through the city of Paris stopping at famous landmarks while using an interactive map to listen to facts WHILE enjoying a four course meal. PLEASE make a reservation for Bustronome if you are visiting or even living in Paris!

BRAVO!! Thank you Bustronome for making it so easy to impress my hubby. The food was first class, the environment was inviting, the service was attentive and the entertainment was superb. They did not miss a beat. Proper silverware, dishes, very nice German champagne, wine, water glasses and the whole adventure began with an amuse bûche. With pleasant music playing we made our way to our private table. Once seated we were offered a glass of champagne. This tour of Paris in includes a 6 course meal that is paired with wine. The bus slowly creeps its way through the streets of Paris which allows for great site seeing and photos. Down stairs level of the bus the chef creates dishes that are not only appealing to the eyes it is appealing to the taste buds as well! This is the way to view Paris!

Such an amazing experience. Staff was very accommodating and great way to see the city and have an amazing meal. I got the drink package with it that comes with white and red wine and water. The tour last 1 1/2 and drops you back off at the same location. I would highly recommend this.

Truly a unique experience. Although pricy, I think this experience was worth it. Preferably pick a day where it isn't so hot because the bus is like a greenhouse with a ton of windows. The food was exceptional. Much better than I had thought it would be... considering it's a meal on a bus! It was truly like fine dining with a view. We had a beat based appetizer, cod, duck, and yogurt ice cream with pistachio cream pastry. The cod was super tender and the duck was well flavored. Service was pretty good. They initially made a mistake and did not prepare bough seats for us and told us to come back another time, which was extremely frustrating.... but last minute they worked it out. I would recommend getting tickets on their actual site rather than a third party site. The interactive map was very cool. You scan the map with an audio pen and then it starts talking about that site! Make sure you bring earphones so you can plug it into the pen and listen as you eat (rather than having to hold the pen up to your ear).

Correction, I have only been here once. Rating 3.5 I planned this experience for my hubby and I while in Paris. I was thrilled when their site said they would accommodate dietary restrictions and I requested vegetarian, dairy free and gluten free. Sadly only 2 courses were decent and the rest seemed to use the same vegetables just presented in a different way. Having had advanced notice of my restrictions I feel better effort could have been made to make my meal as enjoyable as everyone else's. The bus itself is quite nice and comfortable. Kitchen on lower level and seating upstairs with glass roof to see the sites. A washroom is on the lower level. The concept is excellent! Viewing the amazing sites while eating and having an audio pen to hear descriptions was wonderful. I love that they let us off to see the Eiffel Tower all lit up. I bought wine pairings for hubby so he got water and tea included. I asked for water and mint tea and had to pay for them as I didn't order wine pairings. I guess one is not expected to need water with their meal?? They also did not give me any little cookie with my tea while others got mini tea cakes. Zero effort to find a substitute for me...just said there was nothing. For what I got I thought the price should have been reduced. The server said tip was not included In price but my friend just did bustronome in London last week and was told tip was Included. Overall a fun experience but better effort needed for food alternatives.

I had an amazing time here. Loved the food and the tour around Paris. Service was impeccable and they accomodated my wishes. I love the whole concept of fine dining melding with a tour. Beats the hop and off bus for sure. Highly recommend this for first timers to Paris like me. Food was also really creative and tasty.

9/5/15: Bestest meal in Paris, ever. My gf popped this surprise on me the night we landed, and it turned out magnificent! Probably one of the most extraordinary dinners of my life. A bus with an entire roof of clear glass. All fancy inside. Multiple wines served. Started as the sun was setting, drove by all the famous spots lit by the setting sun, and ended lit by romantic street lights and the moon. What could possibly top that!? Oh.... and the food... 1. Tartar of sea bream with chives, artichoke and apricot, lime zest and capers: Very lightly seasoned. You can totally taste the nuances of the fish. A little plain for me, but was good. 7/10 2. Duck foie gras, rhubarb and strawberries, seasoned with a proto reduction sauce: Little did I know that I was about to eat more foie gras in France than I have in my entire life so far, but at the time I loved this foie gras. Later we would try more rustic, and more deeply flavored versions, but I would say this one was standard for a terrine but very good still. But what really made the dish was the rhubarb and strawberries. I've never had a combo like that before, and it was wonderful. 8/10 3. Sea bass, courgette cream, cherry tomatoes with a saffron sauce: Unlike all the other dishes served, this one was the odd one out, with the fish being sloppy--the skin was torn and it just didn't look pro-style. But it tasted fine. Not especially memorable. 5/10. 4. Fillet of ducking, potato puree, roasted aubergine and passion fruit: Good tasting meat. The skin was mushy though. I dunno if it's a French thing, cause I also had duck maybe 2-3 other occasions during this trip and they all have skin that's not crisped. I would think that's a culinary rule, kinda like how fish skin needs to be crispy. But anyway, the meat flavor was good. The passion fruit seeds were really different--usually that's the stuff that's thrown away. It was cool they actually used that as a up-front supporting ingredient! 7/10. 5. Fresh goat's cheese, honey, cherries and rocket: It was good. This seemed like their version of a salad. Damn good for a salad then!--had lots of sweet, tangy, and.... planty, ha ha, together. Great! 8/10. 6. Shortbread biscuit with red fruits, mint jelly and white chocolate ice cream: The ice cream wasn't really strongly tasting of white chocolate... maybe a hint. Tasted closer to standard vanilla to me. I love the little translucent and clear mint jelly--was cute! The biscuit wasn't anything special. Overall it was tasty, but doesn't stand out much in the way of taste. 5/10. So, the food was closer to a 4/5. But they prepared it in a moving bus! That can't be easy right? The drive was really romantic. No guide talks to you though. They give you these cool pens that you point to dots on the map they give you and it's supposed to talk to you like a guide. Well.... ours didn't work. Then they gave us another one, and I don't think the waiter could get it to work either. So the map/pen/guide thing was a fail. But it was alright. No one used them anyway. If you're looking for something romantic and very unique, this is it! (And apparently have deep pockets too--my gf didn't tell me how much it costed but I do see the 4 $ signs on the Yelp page, so I guess this was really expensive, but definitely was worth it!) Would be so cool if they had this in America! But I guess there really isn't anything around here that's like Paris, where you could drive around for an hour and see all romantic things. I gotta say, Paris is definitely uniquely beautiful!!!--and this is one amazing way to enjoy it! ps--I tried to take some pictures of the food, but it was nighttime, in a moving bus, so.... well, they'll have to do. Hope you enjoy! 5/5 #france #french

The best experience I've had during this trip! Food & Paris views, it doesn't get better than that. There are so Many opportunities for great photos. The staff was so kind and the service was fast! The food was really delicious which was the biggest plus! I would highly recommend and do this again this was chill, informative and so much fun.

This was such a unique way to see the city. All guests sit on the upper level of this double decker bus at beautifully appointed tables. We had the four course lunch menu and everything I experienced was that of a fine restaurant. The waiter was very attentive and if we had any questions about how to use the electronic pens along with the tour map to get information about each site he was more than helpful. The bus moves at a pretty slow pace so you were able to enjoy the view and enjoy your food at the same time. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who wants to see Paris in a new way.

Throughout our tour, Debbi and Jean-Paul provided background information and were attentive to our questions. We bought a great variety of cheese to enjoy later at Debbie's apartment. This was especially fun because, although we have rented apartments and houses, we have rarely received an invitation to socialize with the "natives" in their homes. We had a relaxing luncheon with our hosts with our cheese and a salad, and a variety of breads and wines to accentuate them. We'd love to do this again, there's so much more cheese yet to sample.

April 11, Montmartre Pastry and Chocolate Food Tour, Paris…read more Our family of four with a son 9 and daughter 10 did a pastry and chocolate tour through Montmartre and it ended up being a really fun way to explore the area. Arrival and First Impressions The group was small, just our family and another family, which worked out well. The shops we visited were tiny so taking turns going in and out was part of the experience. Our guide was knowledgeable and walked us through side streets, small parks, and local spots we would never have found on our own. The Highlights We stopped at six different locations including chocolatiers, bakeries, and pastry shops. Highlights included a choux pastry, crepes, madeleines, artisan eclairs, and multiple chocolate tastings. The final stop for hot chocolate and macarons was excellent. The macarons were so good we ended up buying some to bring home. The tour was not just about food. We saw the Love Wall, hidden streets, and learned about the history of Montmartre including small details about the neighborhood that made it feel more personal. The Challenges The guide did not have a very loud voice so in a bigger group it might have been harder to follow, but with our small group it worked fine. Would We Return Yes, especially to try a different tour. It was a great mix of food and exploring. Final Thoughts This tour is a great way to experience Montmartre beyond just walking around. The combination of food, history, and hidden locations made it a memorable and worthwhile experience.
