We made a reservation for 2 at 630 on a Friday, obviously by European standard this is early so when we arrived we had a pick of where to sit. Our waiter was the host who took great care of us, ambiance was very casual. No rush attitude and lots of special attention. Started with onion soup au grattan, delicious, onto steak kebab with pepper sauce, cooked to perfection with french fries and rice, also had canaloni which was equally delicious. A charming and busy café near the station. The continental breakfast was 9€, which seemed like a pretty good deal. It included one hot drink, orange juice, a baguette, and a croissant. Excellent experience. We came here for part of our 1st anniversary and we loved everything: the ambience, the food, the service. The steak and potatoes were definitely the quality we were hoping for. While everything was really good, the Brioche cinnamon French toast stole the show. It was so good I forgot to take a picture! The setting and service alone sets this restaurant apart from others. Three of us diners, 1- chicken, and 2- short rib and all sides were superbly succulent and the béarnaise and curry sauce were out of this world! The sauces were made to a perfect savory, robust, and elegantly elevating experience, as well as extremely satisfying and happiness for the palate. I was wary of the potato mash having nutmeg in it, but the subtle addition made it so much better. We will definitely dabble in nutmeg for mash in the future. This is a do not miss this place. When in Paris again, we got back from a tour late and by the time we were able to find a place open later on a weekday, we were left with no so many options within walking distance to our hotel. Summary is eh food, but open late. The waiters were nice enough, but the food and drinks were just meh. I got foie gras, as I had every day of my trip in Paris, and some meat dish while my husband got a chicken dish. We both didn't like our meals, but ate it because we were hungry. Escargot: 8/10 It came with 6 snails, perfectly presented and pretty large. They were easy to get out and were covered in pesto which made these very tasty. I'd get these again. Foie Gras: 7/10 This was the first time I had foie gras cold and it was good. Very strong flavor when eating by itself. However, when you add a little bit of the peach chutney with greens on a slice of bread....it is a perfect bite. The chutney is very sweet but delicious and can overpower the liver so just put a dab. It was also a healthy portion of foie gras. Burger + Fries: 8/10 The burger was okay, nothing memorable. The sesame bun was a little dry but the aoilis on it help moisten up the bite. Fries were better than previous places in Paris, but similarly, nothing special. Service: 10/10 The place was empty since they close up at 12am I believe. With that said, both waiters were super attentive to us and put two tables together for us to accommodate what we ordered. It was a joy. Ambiance: 6/10 There was only one person there when we arrived late at night. I actually really enjoyed that it was quiet. We sat outside and it was so peaceful Sunday. Le Paris Montparnasse is a surprisingly good option if you are in the area. My wife and I had just arrived in Paris, and were wandering around looking for a place to eat. Since I didn't have access to the internet, we were just looking at menus. Le PM had a menu that had several vegetarian options on it (for my pescavore wife), so we decided to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised. From the street it looks like the kind of place I would be reluctant to go. It looks comfortably upscale, which in my travels usually means expensive and bad food. This was not the case. My wife and I shared a very good mixed green salad. She then had the special (sea bass with mashed potatoes) and I had the chicken with fries (50 Euro for the whole meal including drinks). Both were really quite good. Maybe it was my low expectations, but I think it's a solid 4 star restaurant. I probably wouldn't eat here again given all the choices in the area, but it was a solid dinner, so I left happy. read more

My last dinner in Paris was here and it was really good. The restaurant has a cozy, intimate charm. The food was delicious. I had the chicken, which was a bit plain, but the sauce on it was delicious. My husband had the duck steak which was amazing. Dessert was to die for! The restaurant is beautiful however the service was horrible and the chicken was dry. Our waiter was rude and was in to big of a rush to care or help us with anything. Trying to get his attention or to find him was a joke. When we thought we got his attention and asked him for water no acknowledgment and no water.
