Wonderful local butcher shop with excellent quality meats! Their 90/10 Angus ground beef is fantastic and well worth the price. Also tried their hot Italian sausage, it is sensational as well. The pork breakfast sausage wasn't my favorite, but I prefer it spicy, so that's totally on me. Be prepared for a short wait (just a few minutes) as they are extremely busy. That said they have plenty of staff and it will be well worth your wait! Place is super clean and offers a lot of amazing products. Son suggested home grilling some steaks from Butcher Bob's, so I gave it a try. Called Jason and ordered 7 nine-ounce fillets, requesting they be of similar size and shape so they'd cook evenly. Talk about a surprise! In this era of poor work ethics and sloppy attitudes, Jason and crew shine like the sun! The steaks were exactly as I requested, beautifully marbled, all the same size and shape. I prepped the steaks with olive oil and lemon pepper and grilled them to medium rare. PERFECTION. Best meat I've ever eaten, bar none (including Ruth's C***s in Scottsdale and Kobe beef in Tokyo.) Yes, a quality butcher shop like this charges more. It was about $22 per fillet, but when you consider the 5 star quality of the meat as well as the care, cleanliness and friendliness of this hometown butcher shop, you'll agree you can't do better, even if you can only afford them for special occasions. My wife can attest to this, I've been trying to find the perfect mix/blend of burger meat for years! It's one thing to grill a burger but flavor wise, sometimes I prefer a simple, smashed, 2-2.5oz, well blended, 80/20 all American Angus Patty. Which outside of Frys seems to be hard to come by. I made the best burger I've ever made last night with this amazing beef. It was Awesome. I literally can't see why I'd want a burger outside of my home now. Not saying all burgers will turn out as good as mines, I've learned a few tricks over time. But that doesn't really matter, though. I've never been so excited to spend so much money at a grocery shop. This place has any kind of meat you could possibly want! The quality is fantastic and they even sell discounted freezer packs if you're looking to save a little. For all you snowbirds, they have lefse! In addition to their basic fresh meats, they have marinated pollo asado, meatloaf, homemade sausages and hot dogs, and pre-made items such as chicken Kiev and chicken cordon bleu. In addition to the fresh meat counter, they have a freezer section with pre-wrapped meats and all kinds of seasonings and sauces to choose from. Best steak and poultry in Arizona. We will not buy steak or chicken anywhere else. The last time we bought supermarket chicken it was disgusting and we vowed to never buy there again. I've made the ribeyes and filets at home and they taste as good as a steak house. We bbq the chicken leg quarters and they are moist, tender and delicious. I have bought $300-400 every month at Butcher Bobs. They have great meat. The last time I was there, I was chastised because I tried to buy too much meat. Never had a store tell me I bought too much. (I asked for 10 lbs of ground beef.) I was also going to also buy a couple roasts, 4 smoked pork chops, 5 lbs bacon, and 4 pork cutlets. Oh, well, will find another good butcher shop. read more

Very disappointed in the service. I spoke to owner (Jason) this morning on phone who seemed cordial especially when I told him I'd like to try his beef bones sourced from grass fed cows to make bone broth AND I may be referring patients to his place. He wasn't there when I arrived 4:40pm but the butcher who WAS there looked annoyed and eager to get me out of the store. Weighed the bones and scurried to the cash register started ringing me up without giving me opportunity to buy anything else. Maybe he just wanted to start his weekend festivities and I was holding him up. Maybe he was having a bad day. When I asked if they sell grass fed beef he got defensive and said their Certified Angus Beef is clean and I should "google it!" Im sure it's cleaner than most retailed beef. (Personally, I question the "vegetarian" diet of their cattle- I doubt it's purely grass fed) He claimed ALL cows are given hormone injections at birth. NOT true. I shook my head left the store - I didn't feel he was worth my time conversing with and plus, another customer was waiting. I still made the purchase and will give these bones a chance, trusting they ARE grass fed. I walked in there excited and happy to find a small business butcher shop carrying what I was looking for . I wasn't demanding. I simply asked that. Online ordering or just buy from big retailer Sprouts may be better options. If you believe in safe hormone, pesticide free food sources and good customer service don't make this your first stop. Watch out for the one with the mustache. 2 stars for clean store and nice presentation and that's generous. Whether customers are buying a small item or several hundred dollars worth they all should be treated nicely. Perhaps I'll give them another chance to earn a better review.... maybe. read more

I always buy my dog a bag of bones and it never fails there are usually 2 or 3 in the bag that are nothing more than scrap, I would not even think of giving them to my dog ... I do not mind paying $4.95 per pound for bones (grass fed) but when there is a pound of bones or more in the bag that are garbage I have a problem with that ... Pleasantly surprised when I stumbled across this meat market. I purchased a Filet and a New York Strip. I grilled up the Filet and my wife was amazed by not only the taste but also the tenderness. We've been to Butcher Bob's numerous times and have always had great meat and service! We decided to do briskets for the neighborhood pot luck for Easter. We called 2 weeks ago and ordered two 6-7 pound brisket flats trimmed. We got a call on Wednesday before Easter and was told they didn't get any brisket flats in, but that they did have whole 10 pound briskets. I said fine, that I would pay for two whole 10 pound briskets but asked them if they could separate the point from the flat and trim them up! I was told no problem! I go there Friday to pick them up and was now told they only have one 9 pound brisket. So I take it! I get home and realize they didn't separate the point from the flat or trim it at all. By the time I got it home and cut at least 3 pounds of fat off of it, I had little left! I went to Costco to get the 2nd brisket and they had plenty of well trimmed brisket flats ready to go in the cooler and at least 25% cheaper than Butcher Bob's. You really disappointed me this time BB. read more
