They recently completed hard wood flooring install in 3 rooms of my house and in the process exceeded my expectations for attention to detail, customer service and quality of install. This project was tricky because we were trying to match flooring I had installed 5yrs ago by another company. They were not only able to locate the last 26 boxes of matching stock in TX, they were able to get samples and ensure proper color and fit of tongue and groove. This required quite a bit of initial work by Cindy & Rob, including a couple of extra trips to my house and separate phone calls with the warehouse in Houston and flooring manufacturer. Can not speak highly enough about Butler Floors and the service the provide. I have done three homes with them, each of them were 3 bedroom and in each house I also did hardwoods. Many things impressed me with Butler Floors but let me just list the ones that come top of mind: ~ Responsiveness - always there for me with a quote or question when I needed ~ The installation - their installer guys are *very* good both for carpet and hardwoods - especially on the hardwoods the cuts were absolutely perfect (and in one of the houses there were many funky angles that needed to be cut into) ~I feel like I received Nordstrom/Apple type service with Butler Floors but that I was able to use a local business which I liked. I'm glad I went to Butler Floors for my wood floors. After searching all across Austin for hand-scraped wood flooring, Cindy was very helpful and had a great selection of flooring. Interestingly enough, a couple of the other stores I went to had the exact same floor higher priced. We ordered the flooring and as promised it was delivered quickly. We would have given them 5 stars but their install pricing was considerably higher than my installer's prices. I easily saved over $2,000 using my own installer and buying the glue and molding on my own. Their all-in-one pricing is convenient but it will cost you. This is a long overdue review, because these guys came and installed our floors almost four years ago. They put hardwood all through the downstairs, ripped our old carpet and installed new carpet upstairs, all for a very reasonable price. They did an (almost) fantastic job. I say almost, because when they replaced the molding around the island, whoever did so stapled it incorrectly so that sharp staples were sticking out. But here's why I give them five stars - after I figured out it had happened during the flooring installation, I gave them a call and explained. Rob came out himself to look at it, and within a few days, sent someone (no charge) who completely replaced the molding and stapled it correctly. Awesome. Now it was a completely fantastic job, and we were very happy with our floors. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, when I noticed a piece of carpet upstairs was coming out from between the carpeted floor and the bathroom tile. Our handiman said he couldn't fix it because the piece had been cut a little short, and he didn't have a carpet stretcher. So with no expectations, I called butler again and explained the situation, including what the handiman had said. Within a week, Rob sent out a guy who stretched and reattached our carpet, no charge. Their initial work is top-notch, but even more importantly, their customer service afterwards and how they support and stand behind their work is exceptional. Go with these guys. read more

I should have written a review last year, but I got busy and didn't get around to it. I researched flooring for about 3 months, along with local businesses that provide such services. We were replacing carpet in a large living room, hoping to match it with laminate in connecting rooms. We decided to go with Butler Floors due to the recommendations on many review sites. I am so glad we went with Butler. Rob and Cindy are the best! They were super helpful in helping in our selection (yes, I have a hard time deciding) and Rob was always on time when he scheduled appointments. The crew he sent to do our floors was outstanding...each of the young men were able to do all the jobs...they all knew how to install, as well as cut pieces around unusual corners or curves...this ensured that time spent was very efficient. I can't remember the crew supervisor's name, but he was awesome and inspected along the way. Rob came out the next day to take a look at the finished job, also. I believe that Rob and Cindy have done an excellent job with their employees because they have had many of the same crews for a long period of time...no big turnover in people who install for them. That in itself is a huge factor in the consistency of labor and detail to the job. To me, it also indicates that they take very good care of their employees in order to retain them. They didn't really want to work on it I guess because it was a small job, as well if there was any kind of damage to the walls they would not be able to handle that. Cindy and Rob at Butler were great. They were very helpful and friendly when I dropped into the showroom. I immediately chose my flooring and although they were booked solid they fit my job in so that it could be completed before my move in date. The only issues I had were first, where the molding was jointed was VERY obvious. It looked like cracks in the molding in the middle of the room, rather than matching them in a more inconspicuous place. Luckily, a little touch paint makes it hardly noticeable now. And second, I've never had any flooring replaced so I didn't realize they'd be using my garage as work space. Everything I had stored in my garage from the moving process was covered in saw dust. I had to clean everything (again) before I could move it into the house. When I mentioned it to Rob he wasn't at all apologetic. I am, however very happy with my new flooring and the final cost overall could not be beat. read more

I had an excellent experience with Butler Floors last month in which I had hickory laminate installed in a space of about 1600 sq. ft. The experience was wonderful from the time the floor measurement was taken (was completed the very next day after I had requested it), to helping me select a flooring that would meet my needs (large selection and lots of patience with reviewing options), to the actual installation. The installation team arrived on time each day and began working immediately. They also cleaned up the house beautifully at the end of each work day. I don't think that I am going to tell you anything that hasn't already been said in the reviews that I'm reading here already. Just add me to the list. I started off at the local big box store looking at flooring to replace about 2000 sq foot of carpet in our house. We took home some of their 2"x3" carpet and laminate samples and decided that we wanted to go with a laminate. We narrowed it down to a couple and got some pricing. It wasn't a terrible experience there but being the frugal bargain hunter I am I wanted to shop around a little so I ended up at Butler Floors extremely large show room which was very conveniently located for me since I work in SE Austin. I went in and was greeted by Cindy, who I have to say knows her flooring. After describing my project to her she showed me some of the MANY selections of laminate they offer and went into a lot of detail about the differences in manufactures, and styles. She addressed my concerns about dark vs light, smooth vs hand scraped, the different thicknesses and finishes, the different underlayment's, and even about whether the shoe molding should match the floor or the existing trim. While discussing all that we also chatted about family, kids and life in general. I left with 4 or 5 2'X2' large samples and felt like family! She even offered to carry those big old samples out to the truck for me! Over a couple weeks I swapped out samples and had a few email conversations with Cindy and finalized on what we wanted. The experience at Butler Floors was awesome. They are extremely knowledgeable, have a great showroom with a wide selection and will beat the pants off of a big box store if you are looking for a great price on quality products from some great people that you'll want to get to know better!! read more

I don't often post reviews but I was so impressed with the service I received from the "Butler team" I felt compelled! What pushed me over the happy edge was how above and beyond the installer went to make sure my surround system remained in tact after he had to unplug the components and move my thousand lb. cabinet. I told him not to worry about it. I understood that I might have to call a technician to hook everything back up. He assured me he would do his best to have it working before he left. He labeled all the cables before he dismantled and moved the components. Before he left he had everything plugged in as before! I had a very pleasant experience with Butler floors. I initially looked into the company because of good reviews and really liked that I could take large samples home to look at. I was trying to replace carpet with a hard flooring that most closely matched laminate in the other half of my house. I was not successful in matching products, but the young lady in the showroom was very helpful and helped me find choices that would coordinate with my existing floors. After I picked a LVP I loved, I priced the same product at other companies and Butler was the most reasonable with and without instillation. Rob was very helpful in helping me decided between floating and glue-down. I had to costume order my floors which usually takes up to 3 weeks, but they came in early (maybe a week) and Rob offered to have them install right away since his team had time. Otherwise, I would have had to wait another 2+ weeks.The instillation team asked if it was okay to stay late and get it done all in one day (about 600q ft) and I was happy to oblige. After a few days Rob checked in with me about the job and was quick to respond to my questions and concerns. All of my concerns were addresses within a week. Two months later I am still happy with the floors in my now rental property and am seriously considering putting the same product in my new home (Adura- Mannington). read more

Rob (who later told me he was the owner) came out to measure my guest bath, master bath and walk in closet off the master for new tile installation. Knowing that demolition of the existing tile would be dusty, I asked if he would put up protective plastic sheets over door openings to try to contain as much dust as possible to the areas where they would be working. To my shock, he absolutely refused. When I told him it was a deal breaker as I didn't want to have to clean the ENTIRE house or try to protect things like drapes, original art work, etc. when they finished he was adamant that he would not do it. Almost to the point of being rude. I've seen a lot of remodels at friends homes and in EVERY case the workers have installed plastic to cover door ways to contain the construction dust. My advice is to go somewhere else. There are a lot of really good flooring stores out there that will not make your life miserable when they are finished. I just noticed the photos posted by Jens B below. Notice al the plastic that is taped up to protect the tv, book cases, etc. Honestly, what's up with this Rob guy? Oh well, I've found another company who will install the tile and protect the rest of the house while they are at it. Sorry Butler Floors. I was all set to go with you. read more

The product is good, but we've had poor communication with the Butlers. The team that was sent to do the floor was unprofessional and sloppy. They had no English speaker with them, they engaged in an argument before they started, they left their tools scattered about when they left for the night and they did not clean the new floor after they left and they left trash in the house and in the yard. We called the Butlers on Monday and we did not get a return call until Friday. read more

We spent a very long time selecting flooring for our newly remodeled home. After interviewing another local company (which we'd used 11 years ago for our present home), we decided upon Butler Floors to install luxury vinyl plank, as this suits our needs and Butler had a style/pattern we love. The entire process was very easy from start to finish. Rob and Cindy are great to work with, professional, low-pressure yet very thorough, and really listened to our concerns and completely answered all questions. Sarah was also very helpful. We also liked that this company is locally owned and has had the same installers for some time. The Other Company gave us quite a runaround and "added in" lots of charges to their estimate which weren't apparent on the front end--a big turnoff and another reason we decided on Butler. The actual work was wonderful, and completed timely. Rob checked in with us periodically during and after the install, and the icing on the cake was that our balance due was slightly less--a pleasant surprise, as a less honest company could have just kept the extra money and we'd have been none the wiser.
