We found ourselves in a water damage / home insurance nightmare. We needed to replace hardwood flooring that was fairly new, great quality, and aesthetically appreciable. Our salesman Joe McCellon was very attentive, honest and helpful. We were looking for kitchen flooring to replace laminate that was installed less than three years ago by another company. I have to share that Joe at Landers went to bat for us and really did a good job. It wasn't fast but they installed replacement kitchen floor for us. The warranty on an apparent product defect on a cork floor provided by WeCork was not honored so Landers stepped up and bought replacement flooring and installed it at no cost. Before the floor started showing unusual wear we really enjoyed our first time cork floor and feel it is a good environment friendly alternative to some more traditional floors. The installers were great and really had some common sense and pride in their work. Landers gets our 5 stars and hope the floor lasts a long time. read more

We purchased our hardwood flooring, $14K, & had it installed, Nov., 19, 2020. A year later there began to appear light faded wood streaks throughout the kitchen. We contacted Landers & a representative came out for an inspection, who sold us the flooring. He came out for an inspection, then stated he would have the areas replaced, as we had some left over flooring from the install. He also stated, the damage was possibly due to water leakage under the flooring?? The damaged areas were replaced, then the floors began streaking again. Again, my husband contacted Landers, & a 2nd inspection was made. My husband had to reach out via calls, texts, emails before a reply was made, as follow up communication was inconsisitent or dropped by Landers. We were then told our particular flooring was out of stock & that the manufacturer would do their own inspection & possibly replace the entire floors, if deemed defective, or refund only a portion of the costs, at $650.00. Rather than the continued run around, we opted for the cash refund. We were not given a timeline as to expect our refund, & until my husband texted the Landers representative. Finally, about 3 weeks later, we received it. Landers, with their glowing reviews, obviously dropped the ball & folded like a cheap tent. read more

My wife, Kathy, and I recently contracted with Landers Premier Flooring, a family-owned company to install high quality vinyl plank flooring. We absolutely LOVE our new floors!!! Our experience of visiting Landers' showroom, where we learned about various options, convinced us that this was a company worthy of our business. We were greeted warmly by Joe McCellon who gave us a better understanding of vinyl planks and encouraged us to take several samples home. After narrowing our choices, we returned to Landers and met with one of the owners. Stephanie Landers made sure that our questions were answered and we took more samples home. We then made our decision and contacted Joe who sent a proposal that we accepted. A mutual date and time for the installation was agreed upon. The Landers installation team, led by Humberto arrived on time and started working right away. There was no wasted motion or time, every team member knew what needed to be accomplished: Removing existing flooring, moving furniture, bringing in supplies, and preparing the floors for installation. Every team member was professional, friendly and responsive to questions. What really impressed us was how the team responded to extreme unplanned circumstances. A torrential downpour occurred which lasted for about 2 hours and produced 5 inches of rain in our gauge!!! Humberto's team had to protect our furnishings and the new flooring supplies from getting wet while not stopping the progress inside. Of course, the weather contributed to delays, but there were no complaints...just everyone working hard to complete the installation. Worst customer service ever!!! In March we ordered replacement carpet after our house was flooded. We gave a 50% deposit and in June they finally put us on the books for installation in July. Two weeks ago they came to install the carpet but it had a run, no quality check prior to bringing it to our home. They were unable to install the carpet but left the padding and tack strips exposed, right at the landing of upstairs so you couldn't see the tack strips until you had stepped on them. Two weeks later we still have no carpet and Landers could care less. Run from this store! read more

Let's call the salesman, "Ale" for privacy reasons. Met Ale at our new house, he measured the house and chatted with me. Very knowledgeable. Planned on using this company for our floors. Followed up with him at the end of the week to see how the quote was coming, secretary left a post-it note on his desk because he was with a customer. Never received a call back. Monday rolls around and I called Ale to see if he needed anymore info. He said he would start working on the quote now. Asked about what baseboard I was looking for, sent him all the info. He sent me the total SF (~1750SF with waste), and I mentioned that I received another quote around ~1600SF with waste. He then texted me that "he thinks that I may have to go with my other bid/bids because of differences already. Appreciates my time." I would give 0 stars since Landers salesmen have zero follow through and they won't even send you a quote before giving up. read more

We highly recommend working with Landers for your next flooring project. We had a great experience working with Anthony at Landers. Anthony took the time to show us all options. Brought samples to our house. Listened to our input and prepared other suggestions to help us make a decision between tile and hardwood for our living room, kitchen and master bedroom. During the measurement Anthony made sure to think through all possible decisions that needed to be made to support a smooth install. The installation crew was efficient and did a wonderful job getting the floors prepped, installed and cleaned. It was helpful to be at the house during the install but we were frankly in the way while the team efficiently worked through the installation process. Great communication throughout, suggestions how to handle small adjustments that needed to be made to accommodate our older home and they didn't leave until the job was completely done and our expectations met. Following the install Anthony followed up and made sure that our questions were addressed and we were 110% satisfied with the floors and install. We decided to work with Landers because they own the process from choosing flooring to the install process and we are glad we did. Absolutely delighted with the whole process and experience from start to finish. We were in need of having all our carpets replaced. Having received invaluable advice from a relative about the importance of finding a flooring installation company with an excellent reputation, I thoroughly searched and found Landers, whose reviews told me everything I needed to know. I went to the showroom and was helped by Dale, whose knowledge, help and patience was most appreciated. He listened and responded to my needs and concerns, ordered samples to help me get a better feel for the products I was considering and make some side by side comparisons. There was never any hard sell or push, just a genuine desire to help and guide us in whatever direction we were looking at. We scheduled for Dale to come and measure up and give us definitive estimates for each product we liked. We had specific needs regarding installation scheduling as my husband works from home - I wanted to make sure it would fit in with a business trip for minimum disruption. Dale was very patient, especially when unforeseen circumstances meant we had to delay and then covid-19 happened and we had to put everything 'on hold'! Fast forward to June and we were able to finally schedule our installation! Angel and his team were amazing. Their attention to detail, professionalism and equal desire as mine for perfection left me over the moon and delighted with the results. (Our old carpets were not only an inferior product but had been poorly installed (a fact we didn't truly appreciate until this job was done) - some holes in our concrete slab had apparently been ignored and just carpeted over, leading to dimples underfoot that we were clueless as to the cause...unbelievable! The concrete flaws were filled - no more 'sinking' feelings!!! lol) We truly couldn't be happier - the carpet underfoot feels incredible and looks fantastic. A wonderful experience from start to finish, including a welcome follow up from Dale to check everything was in order and all we'd hoped for - I told him it had exceeded our expectations. Caution! Landers Premier Flooring sold us on their claims of experienced professionalism and vetted men, which they failed to deliver. Hiring Landers Premier Flooring to remove our existing floors and replace with faux wood tile floors was a mistake. On day two my husband and I reached out to a Landers Premier Flooring sales representative with concerns about the 6 day deadline he'd given us actually being met. We'd arranged for pet care and had moved into a hotel based on that 6 day deadline. The sales representative assured us that everything was on schedule, but since he'd not yet been to the work site (our home) we didn't really believe him and actually felt dismissed. Now the person responsible for managing and overseeing that the crews tasks are accomplished, latter informed us there was never assigned a demolition team to our project. The crew laying the tile also took on that role of demolition. These men introduced water for the removal of our existing floors, flooding and damaging almost all of our baseboards. The crew daily arrived late and left early, never providing a full days work. In addition the crew rarely had a complete team. We then learned from the crew this was their second job ever with Landers Premier Flooring (so much for vetting their men). These workers, a third party subcontracted by Landers, offered their personal handyman job services off the record and not through Landers. They convinced us we needed to purchase 1/4 round trim for the baseboards in-order for them to complete installation. They said it would be cheaper to go through them than with Landers. With the lack of a full and competent team the job was taking much longer than it should. We provided breakfast foods and lunches to help the men stay on the premises and focus on completing the job. It occurred to me something wasn't right. Here we were paying Landers Premier Flooring $18,666.14 of our hard earned money and it was clear there weren't enough skilled men on the task. I jumped into my truck and drove to meet the owner of Landers Premier Flooring in person to ask for more men and inform him of how the project was delayed due to mismanagement. On my way to his office his wife (Co owner) called me trying to convince me everything was fine and that I needed to be more understanding. She then unprofessionally informed me that the project manager had a family emergency not allowing him to manage the crew. She gave me details of the emergency that I as the customer should have never been privy to. Though it was tragic, it should not have affected how and when their company accomplished the job they were hired to do. Despite the attempts to persuade me from meeting with her husband, I did arrive and met with him. He seemed to listen, seemed caring and offered to reimburse us for the trim we'd purchased. The baseboards did get replaced too, but the Landers Premier Flooring didn't pay for the cost. The company had the crew member in charge pay out of his own pocket for the mistake of ruining the baseboards. The project was officially completed in 3 weeks instead of 6 days. I'm the one that reached out to the owner of Landers Premier Flooring in order to finalize the remaining balance on our account. I took that opportunity to ask for a discount, which we felt was deserved and were shocked one hadn't already been offered. We didn't ask for a specific discount price. The owner emailed us with a firm "We don't give discounts, but will donate $200.00 to your favorite charity". I then sent a reply reminding him he'd offered to reimburse us for the 1/4 round trim. I rehashed our meeting in the email and mentioned how I took him to be a man who cared, listened and seemed to be a man of his word. I also included and requested a discounted price of $1,000.00. He never replied to me, but instead had the sales representative call me and offer a $600.00 discount. The sales representative personally came to our home to collect a check from us and apologized. He said this had never happened to their company before and that they were going to do their best to prevent it from happening again. Sadly, we still have water damage on the bottom of our doorways and we had to replace our $200.00 Moen kitchen faucet, as the crew had been using the kitchen sink to dispose of waste water. After the completion of the project we discovered the faucet had a leak at the handle and in all honesty the list of damages goes on. Their goal to prevent this scenario from occurring again is good, but that doesn't help us. My husband and I do not recommend Landers Premier Flooring. We hope this information has been helpful. I really wanted to love this place, given all the awesome reviews I read on Citysearch. My wife and I are in the process of fixing up an older home and stopped in here with our two young daughters. . . it was my second stop in our tour of floor stores. First the pro's: This place has a truly amazing selection. You could spend hours if not days flipping through all the samples, which is great. . . we definitely didn't feel they were lacking for selection. Secondly, they have a nice little play room for little kids, and took the extra step of installing a TV monitoring system, so parents can look up at a screen from just about anywhere in the store and see what the kids are up to. Good job, Landers team. . . . this is a big perk for those of us without a sitter. Lastly, Cristen (the sales rep that helped us) does seem to care about customers. . . she even went above and beyond and suggested she would cut her vacation short with her kids to accommodate our needs for a measuring on the only day we had available. This was definitely appreciated, but I also couldn't help but wonder what type of store couldn't get someone else out to take a measurement when given 4 days advance notice, instead of imposing on the personal vacation schedule of a sales rep. Now the challenges we encountered with the overall experience: We were greeted promptly, but shortly after is where our troubles began. They felt short staffed. . . we were there in the afternoon on a Friday, and it seemed like one staff member (Cristen) was helping three customers at a time. Not sure about you, but when I have thousands of dollars on the line I expect individual attention. There was another gentleman working at a computer on the showroom floor. . . when Cristen asked him if he could help a couple that walked in the door while she was helping us, he gave her a rude look. I can totally sympathize with being injured and having limited mobility, but a plan should have been worked out in advance of them opening for the day so as to avoid uncomfortable situations like this. Cristen then began juggling two customers at once, which in my opinion is never a good customer service move. After helping us for just a few minutes, she would disappear to help the other customers for 10 minutes or more before returning, repeating this shuffle several times. While I appreciated her efforts to serve everyone in the store and think the problem I experienced is probably more a management problem (understaffed), it created a very chaotic shopping experience. Also, in the hour-plus that we were there, I saw at least three customers come in asking for hardwood, and no matter what finish they said they had in mind they were taken directly to a bamboo product that is on sale. In our case, the only criteria of ours it matched was durability. . . the color and finish were nothing near what we described when asked what we were looking for. I suspect they are getting a great deal on the product and probably truly believe in it, no doubt, but I can't help but think a bit more attention on the front end to what the client is asking for might be a big improvement, rather than starting everyone off at the same product. Perhaps it was because of the shortage of help, because Citysearch reviewers seem to indicate to the contrary. . . but of the stores I visited, this one seemed to be the least helpful in actually steering us to products that met our needs. I said we wanted a durable wood product, we liked medium to dark finishes, and liked the handscraped idea because of our kids and dogs. . . it is more forgiving with showing scratches and dents. After first being steered to the bamboo (which was neither the right color nor handscraped nor wood at all), we basically had to find what we liked on our own and ask Cristen for pricing. In short, I think this store has a lot of potential. . . . great selection, a staff that does seem to care. A strong managerial focus on core principles of customer service (have enough people on-hand to help, make sure they are properly educated in assisting with product selection, advise them that customers spending thousands upon thousands of dollars want dedicated, exclusive attention) would probably boost them back up to the high quality organization others have raved about on Citysearch. That said, I wouldn't disuade you from stopping in. It's locally owned and I DO believe everyone there probably truly cares. The selection is great. It's *hopeful* you will have a better experience than I did, based on the myriad of great reviews this store has received. We just weren't so lucky. read more

This place is the perfect example why price isn't the only reason you get a second quote when doing a major job. I came into the store about month ago and a salesperson jumped on me and followed me around the store. She turned out to be quite helpful. She turned me onto a style of flooring, we set up a measurement day and a week later she came over and did measurements. She was pretty useful and all was well. Next was were the problem started. She had family engagements, vacation, and then got sick. This became a span of weeks. I'd go up to the store and ask for help on some things, and there was a nice man who would help me out, but always someone else there to tell him "it's not your commission" to which he would respond "i'm just trying to help" and then either he or another saleswoman would cut me short and tell me to contact my sales rep when she gets back. Three times this happened. It had reached the point of ridiculousness. Dear Landers: it is not my sales lady's fault that she was out, but your system sucks. Your sales people are more concerned with not stepping on each other's commissions than they are having satisfied customers. Lucky for me, I was doing it the right way and had a second estimate waiting. The other store had, by the way, given me an estimate two weeks before I had to make a decision. I'd given up on Landers yesterday and finally accepted the other offer. read more

I had Landers replace the carpet and old tile in my parents' house a few weeks ago with engineered vinyl plank. They managed to move the furniture, rip up the old carpet, demolish the tile, float the cement, install the flooring plus quarter-round molding, AND put everything back in about 10 hours. I really appreciate them taking care of the project as efficiently as possible to minimize disrupting my 80+ year old parents' lives. They estimated the job to take a few days.
