Watch out for Godfrey! I stopped in with a flat. When I looked at the work order I noticed it was higher than it should have been for just one $90 tire. I had been in a short time before. My car must be magnetized. Attracts nails and metal foreign objects. But I digress. Good ole Godfrey charged me $29.99 for road hazard insurance. You know that "insurance" that you pay for but never seem to be able to colect on. It's usually $4 or $5 a tire. Yup, good ole Godfrey is a cr..k. Stay clear of this place. read more

I called Butler Tires on Wednesday to get a quote for new tires. I was initially quoted $2,238 by Taylor Drinko. After mentioning that a local tire shop had offered me a lower price that also included an alignment, he reduced the quote to $1,753. Based on that, I brought my car to Butler for service. Toward the end of the appointment, Taylor asked if I wanted an alignment. When I asked the cost, he said it was "only $250." I explained that I assumed the alignment was included in the original quote, especially since I was purchasing four new tires. His response was that I "might not need one." However, given how worn my tires were, it should have been mentioned before replacing them, not after. In the end, my total came to about $2,000, nearly $400 more than the competitor's quote. The lack of transparency about the full service and the timing of the additional charges felt unprofessional and manipulative. I would not recommend having your vehicle serviced here. read more

I was going to the gym in a state I do not live in. It was 4:45 in the morning and I was trying to follow the GPS instructions and drive. I tried to make a sharp turn and the next thing you know, I was on a curb divider with (2) busted rims. This was Thursday at about 5:05 AM. I should have skipped leg day! :-) After getting a tow truck to drop me at Butler Tire, we waited for them to open. I walk in and meet Reece Lefever. I never asked if he is related to Mylon LeFever. (IYNYK) Anyway, I destroyed (2) rims & tires. Struts, control arm, who knows at this point. Anyway, by Saturday morning, they had (4) new tires and rims installed and the car was ready for the alignment. After getting the car on the rack, damn, the strut and control are bent. Not surprising from the impact. They got the parts on Monday morning and by noon we were ready to rock. As previously mentioned, I do not live in state. I know Reece and his team busted their behinds in hopes of getting me on the road by Sunday. Reece kept me updated at all times. You can always win, I know they tried like hell. Big thank you Reece and his team. I would recommend them over and over. My father is picking up the car today and I will drive up tomorrow to pick it up. Right after leaving the IRS office, lo and behold my tire pressure light comes on. So I called today around 4:30pm after discovering Goodyear Tire on Powder Springs Rd no longer has nitrogen for your tires. I wasn't able to put my destination address in while the car was moving, so I called them to ask them where exactly on Austell Rd they were located. The gentleman who answered the phone said with incredulity, "You coming over here NOW?" I said, "Yes, but I just need some nitrogen in my tires," laughing at his tone. He replied, "Oh. Okay. That's cool. You can come one. I'm glad you told me cuz I was just about to ask you what you was tryin' to have done! Cuz we close at 5:30!" Now - even though this guy wasn't professional - for some reason - he didn't rub the wrong way. I actually found him funny in a down-home-why-is-Cletus-manning-the-phones-kind-of-a-way. So I arrive right at 4:58pm. And the gentleman, a different gentleman, gives me the stink-eye when I walk in. I have to greet him - since he doesn't say anything - and as I approach the counter I explain that I just need some nitrogen because my tire pressure light came on. He said, "Ma'am . . . we are no longer allowed to let you pull up and just add nitrogen to your tires. We have to pull you into the bay. And I don't even know if we have time to do it today." Now it's my turn to sound incredulous. So I respond, "But I just called and talked to someone. I explained what I was coming in for - and he told me to 'come on.'" So this gentleman walks away, but is still talking to me as walks away - he's saying, "Let me check - we had about 3 or 4 people show up in the last 20 minutes." So he comes back to the desk and says, "Yeah. We can do it . . ." then he starts asking me if I've been here before and what's my number. So I told him my number - but I was just so irritated at that point. Then it dawned on me - this was probably not a courtesy service. So I ask him the price. His response, "Well . . . that depends. If its a screw and we have to remove it and patch it . . . if we just have to top it off - it's $5 per tire." So in other words - it's going to cost me $20 because I have a pretty good feeling that ALL the tires are going to need nitrogen. Wink. Wink. At this point, I tell him to just forget it - that I'll drop by the dealership before I head out of town in the morning. The one star review may seem harsh - but honestly - I think it's deserved. The gentleman at the desk was just so 'over' me from the moment I walked in the door. His lack of energy and negativity was just draining. I get it - I'd had a long, rough day myself. See my IRS review. If he'd 1) greeted me when I walked in, 2) smiled at me and 3) not walked away from me while talking. Or 4) not STARTED by saying that he didn't even think he could fit me in today (who does that if they REALLY want the customer to stay) . . . then I would have probably just stayed and coughed up the 20 bones. Because I REALLY don't want to delay my departure with a trip to the dealership in the morning. But it was just that bad. This was my first experience at Butler Tire and I'm sure it was my last.
